Is he as promising as Ravel?
Is he as promising as Ravel?
I'm suspecting he is the most deadly since Rossi and pre injury Will Keane
My mate who’s a Chelsea fan got a warning earlier “watch out for the lad Greenwood” oh he knows about him now
The kid is absolute dynamite. The best youth team player I ever remember seeing for united so far. His consistency for his age is staggering.
I'd start him against Cardiff the next day....at least LVG would aswell so we can see a glimpse of the future, not this present rubbish under Mourinho
If you look at his goalscoringstats - he is much better than Rossi (but Rossi had a lot of assists). I can't remember exactly the numbers but I do seem to recall that the 2 best strikers in terms of goals at youth/reserve-Level over the last 20 years were actually Frazier Campbell and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake who both scored a lot. But this is based on my memory rather than definitive proof. But I think they were the best
Yes.He has everything. Is he as promising as Ravel?

Surely we should be able to get him a decent loan in January? He needs consistent games against proper defences and not just the odd game here. Give him half a season away to see how he copes

Very exciting prospect but no need to rush him into the first team. He needs to be given a chance to come in as a sub when we have the right manager and the team is in good spirits. He should be nowhere near the first team at the moment, the negativity will ruin him. Just let him keep on flourishing in the youth team banging in goals left right and centre and he will be given his chance.
It's got to the point where if he gets a chance and doesn't score i'm a bit disappointed. That shouldn't be possible with a 17 year oldWhen Greenwood had the ball 30 yards from goal prior to the 4th goal - I almost celebrated before the took the Chelsea-player on. You just know it is gonna be a goal
I pray he stays clear of injury. Im still kinda hurt broke over Will Keane and Rossi's careers
So is it 17 games - 20 goals - 5 assists across the age groups this season?
He's 17.Excellent stats given he is 19.
How good was his goal scoring last year?

For context, born after 9/11.

Rossi's goalscoring record was better than anyone we have had in last 20+ years.
He played two seasons in our juniors/reserves and scored over 30 goals in each season. Blake, Campbell, Keane and others come nowhere near that number.
Very different players! I doubt there will ever be a player as technically gifted and with as much flair as Ravel had, although he also had major flaws (strength and obviously temprement) which meant he couldn't transfer it to the seniors! Mason looks to be a polite/ hardworking boy if reports are to be believed and already has a mans physique. I love how direct he is; always on the front foot!
How long does the youth season run until? Looks like Greenwood is well on his way to 30 goals.
If he does it this season and then next season in the Reserves then he will be in the Rossi category in terms of output.
Is he as promising as Ravel?
Doubt Greenwood will get to play in a reserve team as good as Rossi did though, although perhaps with all the promotions you'd hope they'd be a lot better next season.
We have struggled with strikers (or more than one) for years now.
No idea why.

The lad was endorsed by Messi himself as a star of the future. It's a pity what injury has done to our best recent youth forwardsAnd more recently, James Wilson. I remember Wilson was putting in these type of goal scoring performances regularly and completely faded away soon after. He scored 4 goals against City youths after an incredible season and the hype train was in full flow.
