Haram, would be my first guess.
If Rashford and Martial do not cut it next season I refuse to blame them. Ed Woodward is setting us up for failure. fecking coward.
Now shut up.

It becomes difficult for everyone irrespective of who comes in. Like Rashford, he will be given time to begin with, and if anyone will get the sharp end of it it will be Ole and Woodward for not reinforcing. As it happens, he's trusted in youth, as is so often requested by our fanbase, and so he needs to give time to youth over senior players for that to happen. If Greenwood has to come in for Rashford and Martial and does not hit the ground running it becomes difficult for everyone, that’s my point. We have all seen Martial’s and Rashford’s fluctuations in terms of form.

Mourinho wouldn't even have Martial starting through the middle and wouldn't have promoted Mason IMO. He's also a cnut in comparison to a club legend like Ole.
Then he went on to say in no uncertain terms that none of the youth players (Mason included) would be a part of ‘his’ team when the season started.I'm firmly anti-José but he did bring a 16 year old Greenwood on tour and gave him decent minutes.

I would be pretty disappointed if Ole does not give him significant minutes tomorrow. He is going to make united great again.
Yeah, I know that. Just don’t think any cred should go to that man for doing something he seemingly had no other choice than to do.Tbf he was 16 at the time I'm firmly against Mourinho's preference for experience and mistake-averse football, love Ole's faith in our youth now. Really hoping Greenwood and Gomes get the minutes they deserve this season.
Martial and Rashford are the senior players. 6 years in first team football and over 30 caps for the national side respectively dictate that. You can have a balance. Playing youth does not mean senior players don't have to play. In fact it probably helps the youth playing with senior players.

It’s not a case of ‘if.’ Ole clearly has seen enough of them to have confidence in their ability to score. Rashford has demonstrated this by his impressive goal tally against the top sides. Martial has consistently had a very high conversion rate. It’s time we stop treating them like kids, no?They are not proven goalscorers. If they are the senior players it’s a problem.

Martial's problem has never been about being clinical. Like mentioned already he has the best finishing ratio in the league. Being clinical isn't one of his issuesI don't think so, I think he wanted to give a youth player some positive reinforcement while giving the other two some friendly competition to raise their game.
We all know that those two have to be more clinical this season if we're going to get a top 4 spot.
No he didn'tMartial made his first team debut 6 years ago. Equally, Rashford has been a mainstay in the side for several years, having already got over 30 caps for England. These aren’t kids anymore. They know the pressures of playing for Manchester United and for their national sides. This isn’t being thrust upon them.
Ole said that Greenwood’s finishing was better than the two aforementioned players, that’s it. How can that we considered undue pressure?
They are not proven goalscorers as they were wingers playing around 50% of total mins. This is the first season where they will have the responsibilities of a senior player and manager who trusts them to start them week in week out (for Martial, Van Gaal did and he scored around 17 goals playing as CF + LW)

No he didn't
He did, just not for us. He came from Monaco, member?Martial's problem has never been about being clinical. Like mentioned already he has the best finishing ratio in the league. Being clinical isn't one of his issues
No he didn't
Yes, he did.No he didn't
And played for Lyon briefly before that.He did, just not for us. He came from Monaco, member?
Ok but it is still a big risk to have them as the primary goal scorers with a 17 year old as the backup. The pressure will come after 2 bad games. That’s why I said I would not blame Martial or Rashford if they don’t quite cut it yet.
Don’t think he made a first team appearence for them, might be wrong though. And played for Lyon briefly before that
Oh yeah just corrected myself there. I stand corrected.Yes, he did.

He made a few appearances from the bench.Don’t think he made a first team appearence for them, might be wrong though.
It would make him the second youngest after Macheda. As an aside I’d love it if he managed a goal for us before he turns 18. PL preferably
Ah, okay, didn’t know that. He’s a veteran now, and the point remains the same. They’re not kids playing their first season. By the sound of it they both relish the opportunity to carry the load.He made a few appearances from the bench.
It's a risk but it's a risk we have to take. If not these young players will never get chance (I mean Rashford and Martial).
Also I think if Rashford or Martial is injured/rested then other one will play as 9. Greenwood will be 18 in 2 months, many players were trusted at that age to play regular football. So as a backup I don't think it's a problem.
As an aside I’d love it if he managed a goal for us before he turns 18. PL preferably
I don't think Greenwood being 18 soon is a problem. It’s just that he is backup to players who are not proven goal scorers in the first place. For example Rashford’s decision making is still erratic. I don’t associate erratic decision making with a senior player.
It's the style of play, he plays at 100 mph and rushes into things. For example, players like Nani were erratic as that was his play style.
There are many senior players who have erratic decision making. Not trying to be funny here but Perisic is 30 and his decision making was erratic too.
I just watched the interview and context really does matter. He clearly answered that question to avoid answering the journalist question.
There is really nothing to it. Greenwood might be a more natural finisher than Martial or not but I wouldn't take anything from this particular answer given his aim was to avoid the journalist question.
Hopefully but I doubt it. He might get chances in cup games.Feel like he might get the start today, looking forward to it!
Would love to see that. None of Lingard or Pereira should be safe after Chelsea. Not saying they were bad, they weren’t, but I see room for improvement there.Feel like he might get the start today, looking forward to it!
I agree with you. Consistency and application are his issues. The only thing stopping him from being a 20+ goal a season striker is himself.Martial's problem has never been about being clinical. Like mentioned already he has the best finishing ratio in the league. Being clinical isn't one of his issues
No he didn't
Edit: Nvm I think you mean his senior professional debut and not his United debut.
I get the feeling Ole meant that Mason gets into better positions so that he can score the easy goals that Martial & Rashford don't tend to do since he's been talking a lot about how the 2 of them need to improve their movement in the box & score more scrappy goals. He didn't say that Mason is already a better goalscorer than them which is what some people seem to be taking from it.
