Mario Gomez

I beg to differ but what is our style exactly? I mean we won the CL and the EPL by having probably the most hard working forward line in Europe (Tevez and Rooney). We brought Berbatov (who is hardly renowned as a hardworking player) and we are still on top.

Systems change and SAF had always shown that he can easily adapt his formation to slot in players. Benzema is sheer class and he won't have any problems to adapt to our system.

Mind you Im not saying that we should bring in Benzema. His price tag is outrageously high and Tevez is a top player whom I really want to see us keep. Stating that if SAF wants Benzema then I hope that he gets him. The boy is special (SAF himself had said that) and if we don't bid for him it wont be because he won't adapt to our system but simply because we don't need him (Since we have Tevez) /we cant afford him.

oh i thought you were talking about Gomez...my bad

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

this coming from you, of all people?

do you have anything better to do than to create a thread about anything and everything? you're one of the worst posters on this board. Apparently you have an opinion about anything and everything. More than half of the time you couldn't be more wrong about whatever you're going on about. All you do is stubbornly maintain your stance on whatever the subject is, and people just get sick of arguing with your nonsense, so they stop. And you "win." Anyone who happens to disagrees with you, and you suddenly become extremely vocal/judgmental/opinionated because those ideas contrast your own. You carry on like you're some sort of expert on anything football and it's really sad, because it's really obvious.

All true. I'm confused though, do you just stalk me on here or something, because you hardly ever post...? Never understood why people read it but don't actually join in.

Did your parents not give you enough attention as a child? Because you seem to be seeking a lot of it on this board.

They did, and don't be silly.

I'm still a child, and a spoilt one at that.

You talk a lot of crap, you do.

it's not stalking when 99% of the threads on the front page are made by you. and not to mention that you feel the need to post in every single thread. pretty hard to miss it.

i hardly ever post because most of the time i just can't be arsed to bother with your trolling. see, I actually want to talk about football when I visit this board, something you ruin for everyone.

Do people just not get that insults on the internet don't work?

You're just making yourself look like an idiot in this thread.

Why bother?

Scored four today, Stuttgart are in fantastic shape and have a good chance to win another title after 2007. Gomez' form is breathtaking at the moment and his consistency is the key to Stuttgart's success. His (league) goalscoring record:

2005/06: 6 (mainly coming from the bench, 8 in all competitions)
2006/07: 14 (16 in all competitions)
2007/08: 19 (28 in all competitions)
2008/09: 23 (34 in all competitions)

I'd absolutely love to see him at United, even though most here don't really rate him due his weak Euro '08 performance.

From German league, there are only two strikers worth mentioning. Dzeko and Ibisevic.

Dzeko is definitely worth a mention, will move to a bigger club soon, especially now that Magath is going to leave Wolfsburg for Schalke. Ibisevic has done well last autumn, but it was his first really good half-season and you never how players come back from from serious injuries.
Gomez has consistently become better over the last three years and will be a success at a bigger club soon. He's still only 23. You can quote me on that.

he needs to move to Bayern or another league...brilliant finisher!! he needs a goal at international level and he'll get his confidence back!

Why would he move to Bayern? They're crap.

no they're not...just because we support the best team in the world doesnt mean we need to desrespect other teams...Bayern have a very good squad with a couple of good signings like Gomez for example and an experienced manager i rekon they can be back in the european elite in a couple of years.

They're not even close to being a European Elite club, not even close.

Once Ribery leaves they'll just get even worse.

Sorry, but Bayern are on my list of elite European clubs. Like us, they have given the world some of the greatest stars ever to play the game. They may be on their uppers at the moment but they'll be back. Class club.

agreed, i dont know why some United fans hate Bayern that much...the two clubs have a good relationship.

Shhhh, just winding up a Bayern fan.

Don't ruin it!

;)

34 Million Euros according to a local source (Stuttgart based newspaper), a German record
Well, I hope he does well even though I can't stand Bayern. Rate this guy and want to see him move to England in a few years time...

he's signing for Bayern...seems like Toni will return to Italy...rumour has it money plus Toni for Gourcouf

If that happens my Milan supporting mate is going to kill himself. He's been creaming himself over Gourcuff's form in France and has spent most of the last few years raging against Milan's patented "sign as many players near the end of their careers as possible" transfer policy. Watching Gilardinho become really good again now he's left Milan has already depressed him and this could put him over the edge :(

I have a better idea for him. He should simply hunt down and kill Ancelotti. the man responsible for his misery.

Gourcuff will stay in France, Ancelotti has made a big mistake by repeatedly saying he never wanted him. They could use him really, shitty management

but if it happens:
Gourcouff-Bastian-Tymoshuck(sp?)-Ribery
------------Klose----Gomez-------------

not bad at all IMO

Gourcouff is a fine player, he just never really got his chance at Milan which is a shame because him and Kaka behind Pato would form a deadly trio for years. Perhaps there's still a chance because Ancelotti may leave soon which would let Gourcouff back into Milan side.

He's immensely talented but it's only this year that he's really started to show any sort of consistency. We know he can perform in the French league but can he step up to the next level in Italy and in the Champions League? Ancelotti must have seen something in him which he didn't like.

I'd still keep him, for what it's worth, you shouldn't give up on that sort of talent. Just look at how Fletcher has developed with us, and he's certainly not as gifted as Gourcuff.

AC Milan had sold Gourcouff with the 'diritto di riscatto' ie Bordeaux has the right to buy him for a set price. Whether Gourcouff remains in France or not is not in their hands anymore.

Do Bayern always sign the best German players? Seems like every year they pluck the cream of the crop from the other clubs.

As for Gomez and players of his ilk, why do the top German players continue to sign for Bayern and a handful of others top German clubs instead of moving abroad to the likes of La Liga and the Premiership? Seems most wait till their late 20s or early 30s before moving abroad. Is there a devotion to the home league?

Bayern has more clout than any other club does in their respective league. More so that even Real in Spain. If Bayern goes to their fiercest league rivals and ask to sign their best players, these clubs generally have no choice but to sell, because the players will ask to move immediately. Not only do they get the players they want in the German league, but Bayern usually gets to set the price too.

It's 34 million greenbacks, 30 million Euros, or 26 million pounds I believe. Seems as though Bayern are spending their impending Ribery ransom already
