Yes please! If he's truly available for that price then i'd pursue him over Pedro. Seems to me that he may turn out to be better equipped for the demands of this league. He has youth on his side and will give us some of that star quality in attack that LVG says we're lacking.
Pedro is a winger... who understands the Dutch football (close to the Barcelona system). As a winger, you don't drift in, you widen the game and stay close to the line. Götze is an offensive midfield. He would compete against Herrera and Depay (unless Depay is put on the left).
I like Götze but I don't know if we really want him that much.
Buy him, Pedro, Bale... whoever. Buy them all.
Could he play for us like Messi did for Barca? As false9?? I think he did play some matches last 2 years for both Bayern and Germany but doesn't remember if that did work or not.
Don't think we are even looking at him. Rather let wingers play in the middle and midfielders on the wing than buy a guy that would excel on the number 10 position
Personally Id prefer Messi..decent goal scoring ability..and he does seem to be able to bring a lot of his teammates into the game..but then, Rooney is our captain..and on massive wages..
Unfortunately, we'd play Messi at left back.
We could buy them all but still won't be able to beat the "philosophy"...
I just imagined us buying him and than hiring Guardiola as our new manager next season. 
Blind is being deployed at CB and he will also be back up for Shaw.
Hence, I feel we have four CMs at the club, and Herrera is on of them. I also think Anders will win LvG over again and become the 2nd or 3rd ranked CM at the club.
if bayern can really get deBruyne, then this is highly likely they can let go of gotze (don't think they will let go of muller). we should go tempt gotze to join us

LvG wants pace and creativity added, well that would work pretty nicely, pace on the flanks and a creative AM in behind the #9 if Rooney can stop himself dropping deep all the time.

I think that would be too easy, the manager seems to enjoy a challenge.
LVG doesn't like luxury players last luxury player we brought in lasted a year at the club and was benched after 4 months.. This isnt going anywhere..
Di Maria actually had some decent work rate and pace. Gotze is too much like Mata, a little slow but good finishing but has Fabregas like characteristic to fade in the latter half of the season. He starts the season as starter and then gradually builds his way into the bench.
Like I said can't see us spending 40m on Götze. He is a luxury player if I ever saw one, a great one but one all the same..
If LVG doesn't think that Mata can play behind the striker than we would be better off selling him and get Gotze instead.

Götze will even fit in at right wing with Mata playing in the middle. He did that at Dortmund with Kagawa playing through the middle.

Honestly if it comes down to Götze or Pedro, we should be going all out for Götze. Would Bayern honestly reject if we pay them for they want which is around £30-32m. We seem to quite willing to pay around £22-23m for a 28 year old. Why not pay an extra £10m for someone who is much younger and has much more potential?

Perhaps, but scoring the winner in the wc final is not half bad either (+as a Dortmund follower i have seen his massive skill and talent despite young age.) would cash out on him any day of the week!

I do not know if he is still available so short before the transfer window ends (Bayern would atleast need another player for the rotation). But he was never in the "not for trade"-bracket. Rummenigge somehow told that "he wants to stay another year" - that sounded more like the club would have let him go if he wanted and the other club would have paid a fee. It is thought that when somebody would have come and paid around the sum Bayern has paid for him or maybe about 40m EUR Bayern would have let him go.
I am pretty sure that his agency was collecting offers. But - Götze is on a very high pay for such a young guy and probably would not go to any club...
If this 40m euros asking price is true, can anybody see van Gaal maybe making a lateish move for him in the widow? Anybody feel he'd be a good option somewhere in the three behind the striker?
No idea if he rates him. Can't see Bayern selling another player to us anyway.
And it would surely mean the end of Mata, or Januzaj would have to go out on loan.
A loan might do Januzaj some good i think. He could be an upgrade on Mata, but van Gaal seems to like Mata.
