Mario Balotelli

I doubt we bid for Sjneider (sp) too

We defo did look for Benzema i reckon but the price was OTT

(possible dodged bullet even though i rate him)

I think it was more of a case of Benzema preferring to go to Madrid because we could afford to pay what they paid (£30m). We're not a preferred destination for plenty of players so we're bound to miss out here and there.

No, we didn't 'bid' for Benzema. We expressed an interest, enquired about a price. We quite probably discovered precisely who else was interested and how much they were offering. We didn't submit a formal bid.

We generally only submit bids that we know will be accepted. It's sort of semantics, but it's interesting when you apply it to what SAF says in the press, for example, e.g. 'How can a player reject us when we haven't bid?'

A player can say, as Benzema did, that he wants to go to Real and not us. Even though we 'maybe' never made a bid, he still knew we wanted him and he said what club he wanted to go to.

Mario Balotelli’s agent is reportedly in Manchester to finalise the Inter star’s €35m transfer to City.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the player’s agent is currently on British soil for the closing stages of the negotiation.

Mino Raiola has reportedly been spotted in Manchester for talks with City, suggesting the club has reached an agreement with Inter.

President Massimo Moratti hinted that Balotelli’s time at Inter was over amid rumours of a €35m deal – around £32m.

“Everyone is right about Balotelli, he is a talent, who in my opinion, has yet to express himself 100 per cent, but this talent, in this moment, doesn’t seem so indispensable,” said Moratti.

“We have important offers and objectives of an economic character, so you make a sacrifice with the player who everyone wants, not with the one who you try to sell and no one wants.

“Balotelli remains a great talent, but for us it’s almost an obligation to exit in this way. I definitely had a good relationship with him, then again I don’t know what he’ll say about that.”

Apparently he will sign for City within hours for around £25 million.

now the move is stalled because of his wage demands. everything about this kid spells trouble. despite being offered a way out of a club he doesnt want to be at and I'm sure great money he is willing to risk it by demanding more. city have got a real gem there alright. cant wait for the 'I always wanted to join city' press conference

Most probably there will also be the "united wanted me" part too...

Ancelotti said today that City signing Baliotelli will be the difference between them challanging for 4th and challenging for the title!

So clearly the Italian managers who know a good bit about him (Mancini, Ancelotti), rate him a lot higher than we do.

He is a great talent no doubt, but he needs guidance and a strong hand, someone who sets his head straight. If he can do that at City, he will be a great buy, if not, they have one more diva in their team

nobody is arguing that he's class. He's a top talent but his attitude is awful. He has positives on the pitch but his negatives both on and off the pitch are more obvious IMO.

If someone spends all that money on a player, I'd say they rate him.

Doesn't mean he's any good, mind you.

Well Mancini and Ancelotti clearly know more about him than the tards on here do, and most likely know more about him than SAF and his scouts.

I just feel like we're missing a trick here and not trying to get him.

So every play ever signed by any club for big money is a great signing, because the manager who signs him "clearly know more about him than the tards on here"?

Obviously Mancini sees something in him. This doesn't make the criticism of the signing any less valid.

The Balotelli transfer really doesn't make sense to me. Clearly he's talented. Maybe they are getting the next superstar. But why take the risk on him now? With all the pressure that Mancini has for next season, why add to that by taking on a talented but problematic player who will need extra attention and consideration?

He already needs to merge together quite a lot of players who don't know each other and quite a lot of difficult characters and keep the press off his back. Balotelli is likely to act as a lightning rod for controversy and difficulty. Strange move.

That's written into their contract I'm pretty sure.

Also can't wait to hear him talking about joining the "project" at Man City.

Perhaps Mancini doesnt want to lose out on him to another club? If City dont buy him this season, someone else will!

yes chelsea. isn't it a bit weird that lately ancellotti continually talks about balotelli as if there isn't anything else to blabber about...

Who?

Who has come close to spend the money we are talking about?

At that price only City will touch him. There is absolutely no reason to believe he would go this season to someone else if they don't make a move.

Not unless Inter massively drop the price.

For £25M Chelsea could afford him, as could R. Madrid, Barca, probably Bayern.

Real just bought Di Maria and Leon. They have Ronaldo, Drenthe, VDV capable to play on the wing, Benzema and Higuain in attack. Can't see them going for him, and the cnut wants playing time. Same goes for Barca, who have tons of class players in attack.

Bayern I don't think can outbid Shitty, so any reasonable competitor for his signature would be Chelsea.

WHo doesnt rate Balotelli? he's got a tonne of ability. His question mark is his desire and his character. His footballing ability isnt in question. For all those doubting just look at Mourinho (the god of all managers) comments on him last season. He said he can be as good as he wants to be but he just doesnt know if he wants it or not.

Mourinho clearly hated him because he could see his talent and that he wasnt willing to work. Basically a player he saw that could be a great player wasn't showing the desire it takes to become a genuinely great player and Mourinho was quite rightly sickened by that attitude.

The agent of Mario Balotelli admits the Inter Milan striker's move to Manchester City has stalled.

Mino Raiola flew back to Italy from Manchester on Thursday night and admitted they are still far from coming to a deal.

"As long as there's hope there's life," Raiola told Sky Italia. "He's calm but anxious to come to an agreement, that's normal for a lad of 19.

"We're working and we're hoping."

Reports indicate that the sticking point is the 19-year-old's wage demands.

Unsurprising, the kids a twat. I think he'd be a great signing for City though.

The game is littered with talented kids who lack desire and application. They invariably end up making nothing of themselves. Conversely, players that lack a bit of talent but are prepared to work their bollox off to improve themselves usually end up having decent careers.

I'd rather sign players in the latter category.

Having said all that, maybe Balotelli can turn his career round? He's probably at the worst club to do so, mind you. A dressing-room full of incredibly highly paid mercenaries and egos is the worst possible place for someone like him to sort their head out.

This to me reads like a 'he doesn't want to go to City' claim, but the muppet in me is probably reading too much into it.

He's a Cassano type case. He is 19 though, he could sort himself out and be a top player for years or go down Cassanos road and be a waste until he gets to 27/28 years old and starts to sort his life out and focus a bit on his profession.

It smells like "I want to get the hell away from Inter as soon as possible" more than anything. Or maybe he just wants to work under Mancini again, someone familiar who has treated him better in the past.

I don't think he really knows if he wants to join City or not, poor lad.

This.

Balottelli is a very talented young lad who, If he signs for City will become Marco Boogers mark 2. He will get sent off at OT, flip his lid and go and live in a portacabin on some wasteland just off junction 5 of the M42 where he will breed pedigree Russian filligree hampsters for their meat.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is planning to hold further talks with Manchester City on Monday regarding a deal for Mario Balotelli.

City are trying to add the teenage striker to their squad, but have yet to come to an agreement with both Inter and the player.

According to reports in Italy, City have lowered their offer for Balotelli from an initial €30million (£25m) to €27m (£22.5m) and they are also yet to meet the 19-year-old's personal demands.

Balotelli's agent has revealed that the player is becoming 'anxious' regarding the failure to finalise a move and discussions now appear to be on hold until after the weekend.

Moratti confirmed that no agreement is yet in place, but he remains prepared to let Balotelli leave Inter for the right price.

"For Balotelli to go to Man City, we are still missing an agreement with the club," Moratti told Sky Italia.

"We will probably talk about this on Monday to try and find a definite agreement with the English side."

No no, thats not right.

It's because Balotelli is a cnut asking for £300,000 a week after tax.
