Mario Balotelli

May as well use robinho in the deal. Can't believe the cheek of ballotelli demanding them wages, if he were doing that to united, he be sent packin back to inter

Inter striker Mario Balotelli to cost Manchester City a mammoth £64m - report 5 Aug 2010 08:58:00

Manchester City will reportedly have to splurge £64 million if they are to sign Inter forward Mario Balotelli.

The teenager's future has been the subject of much speculation, and it has been widely expected that the Italian will make a move to Eastlands during the current transfer window.

However, it had previously been reported that the 19-year-old's outrageous demands of a salary worth £180,000-a-week coupled with an image rights deal had proven to be a stumbling block of sorts with regard to the move reaching fruition.

Now The Daily Express reports that the £64m is the amount that the Citizens will have to spend if they are to sign the player and set aside his wages over a four-year period - which is reported to be the length of the potential contract.

City, meanwhile, continued their sombre pre-season with a 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

The combined transfer fee/wage thing always makes things out to be bad.

I wonder how much Hargeaves has cost us then: £17m transfer + £100k a week for 3 years = £32.6m.

That's £857,894 per game!

How do you know he's on 100k per week? Also, it's unfair to say he's cost £850k per game. Do you think he'd rather play football or sit on his arse?

£100k a week is a guess. I don't think that's far off to be honest. Do you?

It's not unfair to say he's cost £850k a game - it's a fact. Do you find facts unfair?

Of course he'd rather be playing, but that doesn't really matter.

Maybe it is a fact but how can you compare this to the reported cost of ballotelli? Madness.

Well it puts things into perspective when people read that Balotelli will cost £64m!!

I'm convinced he'll play more than 38 games over his 4 year contract. In fact, I reckon Balotelli will play more than 38 times this season.

They have a thread about this on Bluemoon.....

Its 530 pages long

I don't know why anyone is calling balotelli greedy for asking that money. Why would you join them if it weren't for an unbelievable wage. If he wants to move from a top club to a medium sized one then he could and should demand a fortune.

Considering Yaya Toure's on 210k/week I'd be asking for for massive wages if I was Balotelli too.

Surely you can't be comparing the two players. One is a proven performer and the other a proven prima donna. Citeh might be ridiculously loaded and flashing it BUT even they have boundaries

Looks like they're having a tough time gelling still

so they take something that has been reported before , use a calculator to calculate the wages for 4 years and add the 30m euros transfer fee and put it together as a new article ..

this job is easy

When i see those figures, no wonder United stepped back

Stepped back? I think the massive depth of lack of United linkage over the past couple of weeks just proves we were never really in for him just more media BS probably like the Ozil stuff

180k / week for Mario Balotelli? what a cock.

The great irony here is that City's over the top spending will cause the Prem bosses to have a good hard look at the concept of the Salary Cap... which of course will cause them as much grief as having to adapt to the 25 player roster.

Toure's rediculously overpaid. But hey, why else would the likes of Toure and Balotelli go to that shithouse of a club?

Take em to the cleaners lads

if only the Prem seriously considers a salary cap, say goodbye to the best talent. There is a reason why the Prem is the best league in the world. They can afford the best.

This.

Spot on.

City fans have convinced themselves Balotellis 'world class' and a mix of Drogba and Torres, oh and hes Better than Rooney apparently.....
Balotelli could be the new Henry if he went to Arsenal. Since he's going to City he'll end up as Robinbayor.

I actually agree, i think hed be great under Wenger, or Sir Alex for that matter, i doubt either would put up with his shit either, to be honest i doubt either would want that sort of attitude around the squad period.

He's an amazing talent to be fair, for his age Shitty could be on to something

They said the same about Ricardo Quaresma to, having talents all very well Boss, you’ve got to have the right mentality and coaching to realise and fulfil that talent, plenty of players around the world have talent doesn’t mean a thing unless your in the right environment to best utilise it.

And hes not half the player Rooney is, whether he will be in 5 years is another matter, fact is Rooneys in a different galaxy to Balotelli as of today.
