Mario Balotelli

What was the fee Sir Alex talked about us going up to for Benzema? Was it £25 million? Because whatever that was, it would surely be our limit when going in for other young strikers.

30m wasn't it?

35 million euros for a talented but relatively raw extremely hot headed 19 year old who’s off field antics and in dressing room bust ups have more than overshadowed anything hes done on a football field, ludicrous really.

Inter must be laughing their heads off at this, they’ve already got members of the first team squad telling Balotelli to just go now! all this money for a lad who was at best a super sub in their treble winnng year who didnt even make the squads for their brilliant victories at stamford bridge etc...

I think the lads a gifted player but for that money (more than Barcelona paid for David villa to put it into some perspective whos a far far better player) hes not even close to being worth it, and that’s im sure why not one single other club is even interested in such a deal.

What ill find amusing more than anything though is the City fans who you know will be screaming from the rooftops how they beat off all this imaginary competition to sign him how he rejected clubs x and y for them etc etc when they know full well their the only club whos even bid for the lad.

You could well be right. I think we got our fingers burnt quite badly there.

Mind you Balotelli is 19 rather than 28 so it's a different story really.

True and I prefer us spending shitloads on younger players who can be top players and moulded to our wishes rather than top players who may not be top players very soon or fit in.

But I think Balotelli's attitude is too bad. I think to be a great player you need to have a great mentality. I can't someone who has such a pathetic childish attitude doing it week in week out.

What;s with the laughing about how much City are spending on players? They do not care, 10 million or 100 million for Milner, all the same to these arabs.

I think the Berbatov deal was the last of it's kind. I don't see us getting into a price war over a big club again for awhile.

do you mean big club or big player? because spurs and berbatov are neither respectively. the staff just made a mistake in that deal. to keep dwelling on that mistake is not healthy for united in the long run.

I wonder if berbatov was a smashing success if united would feel more confident in getting into price war or if it is purely a function of our finances that we seem a bit limp in the market.

I reckon it is a bit of both which is unfortunate because if shit transfer happen, you need to just forget, swallow the loss, and move on.

A tinge of envy i'm guessing.

Big club, in terms of financial muscle. I don't think we'll try to out do a City for a bit.

I think he will go for Mascherano, but I dont see him going for Kuyt. I think Kuyt is a good player and honestly improved a shitload under Rafa but at the end of the day I think Liverpool will want to keep him, which isnt to say they dont want to keep Mascherano, I think that being realistic they know that he will go they just want a good price so Hodgson can bring in some other talent for teh club. I see Kuyt as one of there important players with all of the departures so I dont see them selling he and Mascherano.

I think Cambiasso might be up for grabs if Mascherano goes there

I think you're underestimating how defensive Benitez likes to play. Mascherano and Cambiasso with Kuyt on the right.

I feel for Sneijder, literally all the creative responsibilities will fall on his shoulders with a midfield of anti footballers like that around him, their going to be awful to watch under Rafa.

Still most of us did predict going from Mourinhio to Benitez was the equivalent of going from a DB9 to a reliant Robin.

Honestly it was that way last season too. Get the ball into Sneijder and go from there.

Mario Balotelli’s agent has claimed he will have news on a proposed move to Manchester City next week.

City and Internazionale are believed to be discussing terms over a deal for the Italy U21 striker, with the Italian club reportedly holding out for £30 million.

But Balotelli's representative says nothing will be confirmed over the weekend and that he expects news on Monday or Tuesday.

Mino Raiola told tuttomercatoweb: "There is no news and most likely there will be (news) on Monday or Tuesday.

"For the moment, however, there is no signature (with Manchester City)."

MANCHESTER CITY target Mario Balotelli has been slated by his Inter Milan pals as he closes in on a move to Eastlands.

Inter and City are in talks over a £30million deal for the teenager, who rowed with Jose Mourinho last season before the Special One left for Real Madrid.

New boss Rafa Benitez wants the cash to raid his old club Liverpool for Javier Mascherano.

Inter president Massimo Moratti said: "We're in talks with City."

City boss Roberto Mancini gave the striker, 19, his debut at Inter and his team-mates would be happy to see him go.

Because those quotes say the Inter players want him to leave. Nice bit of sensationalizing by the article writer. There may be some Inter players that want him to move on but it's surely not quoted in that article.

Brilliant FM signing. Talented but i don't think he will become a great player or fulfill his potential, have doubts about his attitude and mentality.

Ozil is more of a United player for me.

I really liked this guy

you broke my heart Balo

There are only two managers able to deal with the kinds of egos you've got at City: SAF and Jose. I will be amazed if Mancini can get that motley crew to gel.

Is it starting XI time? Football manager mode

Barry Toure
Tevez Silva Robinho
Ada

Plus heavy rotation. I can see some big names being shipped out in Jan/May...

So it's going to be Ireland, Balotelli, Adebayor, Bellamy, Tevez and Robinho all in the same side? All they need now is to resign Joey Barton and it'll be one massive happy family!

I'm sure Ireland and Robinho are as good as gone by end of next month. I wouldn't mind SAF trying to pinch Ireland from them. I'm sure they'd sell to United just to offload players and wages. Remember, it's a group from the ME with practically little to no knowledge of the club and history. And with their money, they won't care about selling to a rival - they're arrogance will always prevail in the thinking they can always buy trophies, eventually.

Well it wont take long til they are Spanish dominated side with Rafa at the helm

Balotelli....

He really needs a fresh start away from Italian football and to be honest the Premier league could be a great place for him. Compared to Italian football he would be out of the limelight somewhat, wouldnt suffer at the hands of fans and would hopefully be welcomed to the club and feel a sense of belonging for a change.

Still, who knows he could be great for a few months be substituted and bugger off AWOL, with his character you never know what to expect. Within a week of signing for City he'll be kicking about in a United kit

SSN reporting that the Italian press are reporting he has signed a contract with City and had a farewell party last night. They say he's joining on Wednesday and may even play against Inter on Saturday.

Bellamy and Balotelli in the same side  Theres gonna be a few ego's in that dressing room.
