Mario Balotelli

Again it's called banter.

No its not. Banter is having a laugh but its not a subject devoid of honesty. Unfortauntely the dynamic you are describing with your friends is a load of rubbish. And if its just banter, then why on earth would you need to provide a website for them to check? And you claim I'm taking things too seriously  You guys are even making your banter serious.

And then the worst part is you come here telling us you plan on lying about wanting Balotelli "in a few months". You're even planning ahead and trying to get people to delete threads. And you called this thread embarassing  Sort the rest out.

Remember when I said you took posts too seriously?

Obviously I'm not advocating that we delete every thread that contains within it some form of praise for Balotelli/Silva/Cole etc I can't believe I have to spell that out. I was merely pointing out that it's quite funny that alot of us (although obviously not football academics like you!) will have to pretend we never wanted Balotelli in the first place.

In future posts I'll just say that point blank but I was trying to make the point in a slightly more subtle way:

This thread is going to look so pathetic when he signs for City, on a similar note can one of the mods delete the Joe Cole to utd thread to save us more embarrassment.

No but it's going to make it more difficult for us to pretend we never wanted him.

Do you really think my City mates bring printouts from Redcafe to the pub? When that notion entered your head didn't a little voice tell you that perhaps you'd taken the post too literally?

Inter president Massimo Moratti has revealed on Thursday that talks between them and Premier League side Manchester City over a possible deal for striker Mario Balotelli are still taking place.

The 19-year-old striker's agent Mino Raiola said on Wednesday that negotiations among the parties wouldn't conclude until next week and it seems that discussions are indeed continuing.

Inter supremo Moratti has now stated that an agreement is yet to be reached. Sky Sports 24 quotes him as saying: "At this moment there are contacts with Manchester City, but we must find an agreement that satisfies both us and them."

It's been reported in some quarters that City are offering the Italian and European champions £22.8 million (€27m) for Balotelli, who has made it clear that he wants to leave the San Siro in the near future.

inter need money and most probably eventually Maicon will follow balotelli.

Why do they need the money?

Moratti has repeated several times about the importance of balancing the books. Apparently, he s getting much less money from sponsorships, which most of them were related to the family's business - oil refining.

An inter friend of mine once told me a nice story about these funds. According to him, moratti's brothers who run the family business, used to give massimo and inter an amount of money each year on the condition that he does not interfere with the business. Apparently they did not consider him very competent in business matters.

he got the better end of the deal. if you and your family was in whatever business making billions but also owned a massive football club, which business would you want to be running and associated with?

the football of course. much more interesting than fecking oil refining.

Mario Balotelli is closing in on move to Manchester City - but Inter Milan have warned that deal could yet be hijacked.

City were confident of clinching a £24million earlier this week, though Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini voiced his frustration that clubs raise the price they put on players once the Barclays Premier League billionaires show interest in players.

Inter would like another £5m in add-ons, while Balotelli has also asked for time to mull the deal, but respected Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reports that his departure is now almost inevitable.

However, Inter president Massimo Moratti insists there is still no definitive agreement with City and he has left the door open for Manchester United and Chelsea to beat their bid.

'At this moment there are contacts with Manchester City, but we must find an agreement that satisfies both us and them,' said the San Siro chief.

'Robert Mancini says that we raised the price? No, we ask what we think is right - nothing exaggerated. However, we are evaluating other offers.

'We are looking at offers, but there is no final decision on my part. Everyone is playing their part and Mancini says what is right to look after the interests of his club.'

Balotelli has shared a fractious relationship with team-mates and Inter's Colombia defender Ivan Cordoba today said: 'Mario is up to his usual tricks and it's not clear what he wants.

''My advice to him is that if there are offers for him he should change his attitude because it might help him with his motivation because at the moment he doesn't appear to have any.'

Balotelli's has had a fiery relationship with his colleagues and with former manager Jose Mourinho who left the treble winners at the end of last season for Real Madrid.

Inter boss Rafa Benitez already earmarked his former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt as an ideal replacement for Balotelli, but the Spaniard has agreed not to sign any players from Anfield for three months.

The agreement could be relaxed to bring in Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano, who is keen to leave the Reds.

What are these other offers that Moratti is talking about?

Not the happiest relationship is it.

Poor Inter-fans

Why don't City just sign him and put the muppets out of their misery. Balotelli will not be a United player.

Hmm, I'd rather not see Balotelli at City let them have the egoless Milner.

Indeed. I can see him ripping it up for City. This guy may be a cnut, but he has the personality, believe and talent to fire a humble pie that could feed the world population for a year right in the faces of the ones who are scoffing at him joining City now...

Not you in particular but these kind of comments are starting to annoy me a little bit. Its almost as if people don't want Manchester United to sign some players for the reason of getting 'one over' on other posters rather then genuine footballing reasons.

Personally speaking, I'd be gutted if Balotelli went to Man City, I realise they're doubts over is attitude etc but in terms of footballing ability he's one of the best young players in world football.

Oh I'd love us to sign someone but Im not getting my hopes up. All indications are that United are not moving for anyone so I'll be pleasantly surprised if we do.

He'll go to City because no one else wants him, Morattis just trying to scope as much cash out of the bitters as possible, City fans will then convince themselves theyve fended off interest from every major player in europe and how Balotelli dreams of playing for Mone.. sorry city over United Madrid Barca etc etc as they always do.

Honestly i really hope it goes through, i can see Balotelli causing no end of problems in there, god forbid his wages overtake the likes of Tevez and co there will be uproar from the get go, its a disaster waiting to happen.

Inter-Balotelli, strappo da addio. Il club ha deciso: Mario sarà ceduto - mercato - SPORTMEDIASET

Its seems that Inter has lost hope on controlling Balotelli and is ready to put him on sale. Lets face it, the club is hardly renowned for handling youth talent and Balotelli is quite a controversial player to handle.

What do you think about him? At 19 he had proven to be quite a good talent who can play both as a striker and on the flanks. Would SAF be able to sort him out though?

Every time i open this thread the link reads to me as Inter-Balotelli strap-on dildo :nervous: :lol:

Attitude will have a huge impact on whether or not he'll realise his potential. Unless he matures a lot in a small space of time, he's not going to do it.

If he were to sign for us I'd try and give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that it happens, but all the same I'd think it was a bit of a long shot.

At City he's even less likely to mature as a person and more likely to absolutely take the piss. If he signs for them, dont think that you'll never see him in a United shirt.

according to the italian media, Inter are waiting for the sale of balotelli and/or maicon before trying to sign mascherano.
Basically they have to sell before they can buy.

apparently benitez also promised liverpool that he wont sign any of the players within 3 months lof leaving them

he was being sarcastic. it would be laughable if this happened.

So possibly:

OUT - Maicon & Balotelli

IN - Kuyt & Mascherano

Those poor Inter fans, Benitez has already started the transformation of European champions into europa league qualifiers.

I think he will go for Mascherano, but I dont see him going for Kuyt. I think Kuyt is a good player and honestly improved a shitload under Rafa but at the end of the day I think Liverpool will want to keep him, which isnt to say they dont want to keep Mascherano, I think that being realistic they know that he will go they just want a good price so Hodgson can bring in some other talent for teh club. I see Kuyt as one of there important players with all of the departures so I dont see them selling he and Mascherano.

Why is that? I thought they were loaded?

Why is that? I thought they were loaded?

Moratti had been investing into Inter for years. They had just won the treble with a star studded side and they had already added to the squad three valuable low profile talent which consist of experienced keeper Castelazzi and promising youth talent Coutinho and Biabiany. If Rafa is happy with the squad (and if only he had a bit of sense he would be happy with it) then he would have a very competitive squad capable of competing on all sides. Unfortunately he seems not happy with what he has and according to rumours he had already given Moratti a list of fachts erm players he would want Inter to buy. In that case you can't really blame the owner for selling expecially since the players who he will be selling doesn't really want to stay at San Siro.

benitez said that he ll model his inter side on barcellona..... lol

Don't rate him that highly and don't see why we would need another young striker/wing forward

Assuming, just for a minute, that that's true, I'd say the odds would be in our favour.

Sorry, misunderstood 'both clubs'. Yeah, means he's off to City unless he tells them to feck off.

The translation was misleading dudes.

It seems pretty unlikely that we'd try to hijack at that price tag anyway. I think our interest was genuine though.

I think the Berbatov deal was the last of it's kind. I don't see us getting into a price war over a big club again for awhile.

You could well be right. I think we got our fingers burnt quite badly there.

Mind you Balotelli is 19 rather than 28 so it's a different story really.
