Mario Balotelli

Hang on, he wants an 'indecent proposal'?

We haven't offered to feck him yet. That'll be a blocker.

City probably have though.

Are they reliable sources? SSN said the fee was £20 mill that had been bid.

Ummm... tricky. They're more reliable than, say, Goal, Tribal, Marca or The Sun/NOTW/Mirror etc. But they're still papers who have to file exciting stories every day so are prone to exaggeration etc.

I don't think there's any doubt that City are interested in Balotelli (wheras I think United's interest is more likely just his agent trying to drum up interest), and I don't think it's likely that Inter would turn down a reasonable bid for him. Let's face it, an inconsistent but mercurial troubled young player is not a Rafa Benitez player. But the actual figures being bandied around are probably just guesses.

I'm sure Gary Cook's got some Kenny G on, couple of scented candles, and any minute now he'll drop his trousers and start lubing up

If city sign Balotelli certainly looks like Robinho is offski.

City buy Balotelli for 35 million.

United buy Robinho for 15 million.

United Win League.

City would never sell to us though. I think Robinho, properly motivated and playing in a free role, could be a class player.

He could, but he needs to actually want to become the best. Thats why Ronaldo was/is impressive. His attitude in terms of winning and becoming the best he can be is pretty much second to none.

Robinho doesn't have half of that desire and thats his problem.

Robinho is all about party and less about the game. Should change his attitude. A 19 year old Balotelli would be a much better choice even if he got some attitude problems at the moment :)

I would rather take Balotelli over Robinho.. Robinho is immense with the ball at his feet but has almost no end product.. There are so many times he dribbles himself into and out of trouble.. He is extremely frustrating to watch..

Although he was showing great signs of improvement at Real.. That was before he made the stupidest decision to leave them for Manchester City..

When we ever seriously interested in this guy or was it agent spin to try and push his bargaining position up? i dont think we ever were

Don't think we were ever linked by anyone apart from his agent, who's been known to lie (a lot) in the past. Club sources denied any interest and most British journalists seemed to think it was bullshit.

City fans seem fairly sure it's going to be concluded today, as does Goal.com. But we all know as a collective city fans + goal.com combined come a few planks short of a raft. Saying that Balotelli's attitude suits them down to the ground.

Does my head in that crap. Went searching for any news regarding what ehsanul posted & guess what - feck ALL :nono:

I agree.. That is why it should be the norm to basically post atleast the link to the story if one is posting some update/rumour

Yeah just found this:

Inter Sources Confirm Manchester City Made €25 Million Offer For Mario Balotelli - Report

Deal swinging from end to end as the wheels continue to turn...

Inter have confirmed Manchester City have made a €25 million-plus bid for Mario Balotelli, and despite it being rejected, they are confident an agreement will be reached and the striker will leave the European champions.

City officials met with Inter chiefs late on Thursday night and made their pitch. It did not receive the enthusiasm they were expecting as the Nerazzurri told them to raise the stakes up a notch. That is likely to happen on Friday when the wheelers and dealers meet again.

"Yes, we have received representatives from Manchester City in our offices," an Inter source told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We are talking about a calm and cordial exchange on the eventual transfer of Mario Balotelli at the end of which the offer presented, close to €25m, was not considered adequate.

"That doesn’t mean the deal can’t be restarted in the future."

On Thursday both Inter president Massimo Moratti and CEO Ernesto Paolillo said there was a chance Balotelli would be sold.

"He is worth more than anyone else," said Paolillo.

"We have to evaluate the situation," Moratti added.

Their comments arrived before City tabled an offer.

Voices suggest a deal could be concluded by July 31 - the day Inter play City in a friendly, with Balotelli taking part against the Nerazzurri.

Sky Sport Italia are claiming City have offered the striker considerable wages and the hope of regular first team action, with Inter receiving upto €5m extra depending on Balotelli's success in front of goal in the Premier League.

Really talented player, would be gutted to see him end up there. But would City have the structure to bring out the best in him?

And also, moving from CL winners to non CL football team?

Yeah me too man. I think he could be a top player for us & the thing about his temperment wouldnt bother me at all. My opinion on that is, that he's been racially abused his whole life & has a serious chip on his shoulder about Italian fans etc too. If he came to England he wouldnt have any levels of racism thrown at him - thats a wonderful thing about English football & something to be proud of!

I'm not sure we were ever in for him, and I hope he doesn't come to the PL, I hate his attitude and I for one don't want to see "Super Mario" headlines in the newspapers

"Inter sources". So when this same shit is in English papers we don't believe it and now an Italian paper has quoted "Inter sources" and everyone's believing it?

Only reason it's being dragged out is because Balotelli is waiting for us to make a bid. Morrati keeps babbling on about us and City evaluating this and that, it's either...

1: We have no interest and Inter are using our name to provoke City into bidding big to gazump us on a player we don't actually want, or

2: We are interested, have made an enquiry, Balotelli wants to join us as a preference and now Inter are trying to provoke us to follow up with an offer using City's bid as the bait.

either way, they want to sell. Saying they don't gets them more money, selling to City gets them loads.

Option 1

Hate to see him join Shitty. Would be a bad move for him imo. If we are really after him and he joins them, its a blow...

I don't want us to spend as much as being touted on Balloteli but, I think if he stays at Inter - he will get fecked.

I just don't think Benitez is a good enough man manager (or manager period) to bring out the best in him. He has stifled players at Pool and he'll do that to Balloteli.

I read a report that Yossi said that in pre-season, they didn't even train with a ball at Pool and it was nice to do so at Chelsea. How the hell don't you train with the ball at least some.

The stories from more creative / free spirit players have been fairly consistent when it comes to Benitez, he tries to get them to play one specific way and for a player like Balloteli that could be trouble. If I were him, I'd be looking for a way out fast.
