Marek Hamsik

So shouldn't be a priority.
The lad is more than just purely an attacking option and has the ability to take games by the scruff of the neck and drive his team forward. A modern Nedved and much better option than Anderson or Cleverley.

Kagawa can't get a game as an Am, buying Hamsik doesn't really improve us

his agent is mino raiola, better known for convincing pogba to move to juventus. Nuff said

When you see how Napoli held PSG to ransom over Cavani.......It let's you see that Hamsik won't be coming here anytime soon....I just want Ross Barkley here next summer...Moyes may realize that he can't wait until next summer though and may go ape-shit for either Song or Herrera in January though which wouldn't be all that bad considering how badly we need a box to box playmaker

We have absolutely no chance of ever signing him. First of all I doubt he'd actually be interested in moving here, he's a hero at Napoli and they could probably meet the sort of wages he'd be getting here as they're quite loaded. Secondly Napoli are on the rise and could become a team challenging for top honours pretty soon. Last but not least they'll demand at least €50m for possibly the best player they have and we are nowhere near ready to offer anything close to that level.

No-go, absolutely.

I could actually see Fergie going for him eventually due to his versatility and ability to play multiple roles. Moyes on the other hand? Not a big strong CM, not a pace merchant winger like Valencia and Young. Could see him going the other way and not appreciating him as much, just like with Kagawa

Unlike Kagawa though Hamsik is actually comfortable on the wing and given how he once employed Arteta as a right winger to great effect. It's easy to see why a Hamsik would interest him.

I think you've somehow forgotten that he played one of Pienaar/Arteta out wide for the best part of a decade.

I'm going by what he's favoured in his first top club job.

I'm not going to expect him to sign a limited player because Tony Hibbert played right back for him for the best part of a decade

He hasn't even managed 10 games for us yet. Well, he has, but then I presume we're not counting pre-season games because his consistent use of Januzaj of course contradicts your point. As does the fact neither Young nor Valencia have played in either of the last 2 games, I suppose.

Because they were playing terribly. He said he chose a set of players to start with for the first section of games and thats why he kept a similar lineup. That first selection was surely his preference and if everyone had played well, why would he change it? That didnt happen. Our wings in particular created little to nothing. And of course pre-season doesn't count, are you serious? Its about fitness and a good chance to give young players a taste of the first team.

Wouldn't be a massive step up on what we have, I don't think. Have never been overly impressed with him, the handful of times I've seen him.

I don't study Italian football but as others have said he's underwhelmed every time I've seen him.

Also, his hair is seriously fecking shit. It looks like he's wearing a Roman helmet without the actual fecking helmet part.

He's obviously talented, but I've genuinely never seen him have a good game. Usually it's just flashes followed by anonymity.

He had a monumentally poor game in the week. Barely noticed he was there.

Didn't have much of a chance Inler and Behrami were shredded and he had Flamini up his arse for 90 mins.

Napoli have been excellent so far in Serie A, and he has been an integral part of that. European football is a different game, and it will take Napoli (and Hamsik) some time to adapt, just like Dortmund did a few years ago.

He has that Lampard-esque luck with injuries, if you check his appearance record since he joined Napoli.

No doubt he'd suffer a major injury as soon as we sign him.

I don't know about the broadcast you saw but on mine the commentator sounded like he was saying Ljajic instead of Hamsik for most of the match.

He's a very polarizing player, it's strange. I haven't seen more than 10 or so games of his total but he's never looked anything other than average, yet some people swear he's world class and would improve most teams. I don't get it.

Inler's a persistently hyped player whose attraction is lost on me. He was worse than Hamsik on Tuesday.
