Marcus Rashford (out)

Anybody got any stats on his distance travelled per game against people that play a similar position?

If Bayern have interest this Jan we could see if they’d entertain offers for A. Davies as part of the same deal.

£60m for Rashford
£30m for Davies

Would be a good outcome for the “books” for both parties, with Bayern not losing an asset for nothing and us getting a more inflated value on a pure profit player.

Wait you expect them to give us Davies AND £30m? Any team that buys Rashford now is taking a serious punt.

You do realize that Bayern has games in the first half of 2025 for which they need a LB, don’t you?

MLS or Saudi will be the only options for Rashford.

No way Ratcliffe is going to sanction him going out on loan and us paying a big chunk of his wages. Nor will we give him a large pay off to go.

He will have to cut his salary and expectations or get his head out of his arse and knuckle down and put some effort back in and get playing again.

I think the most likely outcome is that he goes on loan with us paying a % potentially

Similar to Sancho deal we might get a loan with obligation

Rashford makes the decision on where he goes. Would he want Saudi/US leagues? would he be paid the same in US?

Ideally we get a decent fee and all wages off books but who could/would pay that? Saudi aren't really investing anymore like they used to

Do we know how much our players earn if we aren’t in the CL? I seem to recall 20% less?

Let’s assume he earns £320k including CL bonuses, so he is currently on around £250k which isn’t too bad if we somehow make up some of the difference his new club is willing to pay?

25% is the usually reported cut, so (if £300k is his correct “usual” salary) he’s probably on £225k base this season.

That's not to bad, most top 4 clubs in europe can easily match that, and i think the club too will be ok to partly compensate the difference. I'm getting increasingly excited to finally see the back of him.

Sure but they can afford to but how is Rashford or Bruno going to get into the top 3 sides in the big leagues in Europe? Not in England. Not in Spain. PSG maybe. Not in Germany. Italy is skint.

According to the chart here on the BBC, last season it was 9.7 km per 90 (they are quoting Opta). Which is the same amount as Harry Maguire:-

According to Opta, of the 17 outfield players to have completed more than 500 minutes for United this season, Rashford's distance covered per 90mins is joint lowest - with Harry Maguire - on 9.7km

Classic redundant wording. Up there with starting a sentence with ‘I mean’ without having said anything beforehand or the person asking them what they meant.

Absolutely. Dilution tactics.

“for me, personally, I’m ready for a new challenge…”

“Personally, I’m ready for a new challenge…”

“I’m ready for a new challenge…”

You can see how it’s designed to take the edge off. Henry Winter has always been obsequious/a bootlicker

I recall in the World Cup when Capello was manager how he deemed England favourites because of the Italian. Afterward, he properly stuck the knife in, and completely failed to mention his fortune telling.

Anything comparing him to other teams players in a similar position?
Does that matter? You’ve got evidence that he did a very similar amount of running compared to Antony, who is apparently a very hardworking winger.

Mitten absolutely buried him. Said multiple managers over many years have all told him in confidence there are issues with Rashford

Wouldn’t have said that without the clubs blessing I think Rashford is completely done

Where are you seeing this? I want to read it

I already thought so but that almost confirms it for me. That's the last we've seen of Rashford in a United shirt in my opinion.

Mitten is reliable. If this is true, Rashford needs to go in January. This club has had a culture problem for years and Rashford is one of the common denominators.

Yes it does matter. I know you don't like looking at negative evidence against your boy but I'd like to see the comparison for like for like not Anthony who was maybe trying harder due to lack of chances.

Am i missing something?

Are Rashy on Bosman?

Why on earth would Bayer agree to that?

Mitten confirms that Rashford is a rotten apple. Probably the worst one.

I don’t think anything about him is real tbh. Something is way off with him.

I am honestly a bit surprised that we have not heard any noises beyond random guesses regarding his new destination.
When he phoned in "sick" for training just to give an interview stating he was ready for something new a day later it made me think he already had something decent lined up, because why else would he make sure he never again gets to play a minute at United if he did not. I honestly expected to be learning who that suitor is relatively soon afterwards, but so far the radio stays silent. Maybe United have plugged the leaks and they are in talks, but I find it hard to believe that that is the case, that really nobody would make any public noise about being interested.

So how did he end up playing so many games for these managers and getting extension deals.

The only explanation is that the club admins forced the managers to suck it up and play him even when not in form.

It's not horrific, but I think the numbers are still fairly damning for him. Rashford has the lowest distance covered, the fewest amount of sprints (except for Bruno, a midfielder), the lowest rate of pressures, and lowest possessions won.

Rashford's numbers are much lower than Garnacho and Holjund's in most categories. He's not too far off Antony, but Antony has a far higher rate of possessions won. Perhaps that's where the defensive/hustle rep comes from.

He also lifted his performances every time he sniffed an extension. Tricked the club into thinking he'd finally fulfill that potential.

Ole sort of hinted it to be fair.
I think the club have tried to protect him as much as possible but have given up.

I just want to ignore this thread and the other seventeen or eighteen on the same subject, please.

Keep getting this error

but he's a local lad and he gives gifts to children with the PR team holding his hand.

So we should just believe Mitten who sells himself to the Ineos people for interviews? The same Ineos who so far has proven to be absolutely heartless and penny pinching towards everyone inside the club?

Put the blme on the people in charge who so far has run the club into the ground and from a PR perspective United is looked at as a disaster so far under their reign.
