Marcus Rashford (out)

I don't know how can anyone not side with Amorim on this. He separated Rashford from the squad, to protect/implement the group’s culture and discipline. Letting one player bend the rules, no matter how big their name is, can and will cause issues with team dynamics and set a bad example.

Amorim’s showing the squad that no one’s bigger than the team, keeping things fair and focused. It was intended to give Rashford time to refocus and come back stronger, but instead Rashford decided to do that interview which leaves Amorim no choice but to keep him sidelined.

Rashford is a player that believes he's better that he is. The thing to do was train hard, get your fire up and start showing some fight on the pitch, even if the performances don't came up good don't let anyone ever question your effort and desire.

Instead he choose the victim card, which he's used many times before. "Don't question my attitude because you don't know how many busses I took as a youngster to get to training" or some poor excuse like that. Really show just how mentally poor he is. The "we're part of the 0.01%" with Lingard as well. Showing "we've made it" when they were part of the poorest era in Manchester United modern times. He has a rotten mentality, acts as if he's got nothing to prove when he's achieved nothing worth mentioning.

I hope he never plays again for us. Set an example for everyone now and for the future, no one is above the team. You don't train hard no matter if you're an exciting academy product like Garnacho or the face of marketing like Rashford you won't even be selected. That's the way to raise standards.
If I could like a post I'd give you one for this.

Why are we spiltting hairs for a player who never pushed on to fullfill his initial promises and has been so stagnant on his play for over half a decade? He is so non committal to our tactical plans, does not want to fall inline with current managers behemoth task of getting the club back to where it belong too.
A constant denominator nearly a decade of mediocrity with various managers. Very inconsistent in his performance.
Does most of his talks on TV and charities. We should not really come in between those two. I'm sure the team will be able to manage 20+ goal marks he reaches once every 3 seasons from other actually progressive modern inside forwards.
Please join your mate like pogba and sancho. Manchester United will always be the best thing that happed to him. And we he ponders all this many years from now, he will see it. He will see it like how we've seen it, with lots of regrets and what ifs.
Good riddance. FO

It will be a mistake to welcome him back at this point. Ten Hag tried that with Sancho and was rewarded with further grief. Its just not worth it. Show him the door.

It’s not a bad idea. My only fear is that for a striker like osimhen do we create enough chances? A loan would be a good way of finding out
Not right now but if the swap deal with Rashford is possible then what about do it now, let him get used to with the new league and new country until end of the season, then get wingbacks that can create chances in the summer when the wingbacks are available. It’s a win deal, we get rid our 300k wages who wants to leave and lose motivation, but in return we’re getting a goalscorer striker.

I hope Amorim blaming those around him is to pretend that we want to keep him in other to have more leverage when negotiating with his buyers.

It will be a mistake on Amorim's side to recall him,it's not as if we are missing him.

It is sad to see the player with most matches for us today leave:

Why is it sad? You do understand he is the one who caused this and he is the one who wants to leave? We gave him a 5 year contract less than 18 months ago didn’t we?

He isn't.. He was out of the squad against City but woke up on Monday morning with the press briefed that United wanted to sell him.. Not the most fun thing to wake up to and that is without the club talking to him. So this whole thing is on Ineos.. Don't pretend that Ineos is the ultimate professionals with an amazing track record...

The feck? If he was scoring and playing well consistently you do understand INEOS wouldnt wake up and decide to sell him? If he has done feck all over 2 seasons and earns the most money what kind of message does that send if you keep putting up with bullshit? No player is bigger than the club. Either you don’t see this cause you’re a Rashy fanboy or you’re trolling. Either way you’re wrong.

I agree, plus Berrada is on record (at City)if their not producing after 2 years move them on.
I would love nothing more than Rashford to realise how lucky he is and knuckle down and fight for his place, but sadly it's not happening so get what we can and move on.

The whole thing is on INEOS? Uhh, try following your reasoning to the conclusion there. Why was he out of the squad?

He was crap before Ineos were even here

Would be interested to know when people believe Marcus started to decline for us and possibly why? He was always a bit in and out but that ETH first season, he was near unplayable at times. Ever since that season, he’s not looked the same person or player. Was that him peaking at 25?

Simple really. He signed his big contract after that 30 goal season in June 2023. He has been fecking shit since then and basically given up.

He's past the peak age of a winger. See: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/2935360/2021/11/15/what-age-do-players-in-different-positions-peak/

A better question would be, why does anyone expect him to be the same player moving forward?

Yes, exactly. It's baffling how some, supposedly United fans, seem to ignore basic tenets which made SAF so successful in building highly performing teams (in which not everyone was 'elite' but everyone worked hard).

No doubt in my mind that he wont find himself in this situation had he put in an acceptable effort. But he decided to go toe to toe with new owners that are hell bent on saving cost. Never a good idea to make your bosses look bad, no matter how important/powerful/reputable you are. If he put in effort and at least he'd look decent.
