Neville made a good point after the Bournemouth game. He said the players that are here for more than three years should be the first to be looked at and potentially sold. They have been here for so long and it hasnt worked put for them or us. Fair enough I guess.
 
How much of a rise did he get with this ridiculous contract he's on now? What was he supposedly on before it?

You don't even need to mention legends like Beckham, Giggs and Rooney. Look what Harry Maguire has done. He's more of a United Player than Rashford at the moment.

He doesn’t want to wake up to bad news from club? Then he should have played better—or at the very least, as one of the highest-paid players at the club, trained better. It’s as simple as that.

The game away to Newcastle in 2021 was the night I gave up on him


He’s honestly a disgrace, the thoughts of him not challenging for that header in the cup final makes me sick, good riddance
 
Looks like a January transfer to me. 4th game in a row during a heavy fixture period usually means we've seen the last of him or they had a deal in place.

Yeah I lost all trust in him after that. Some people thought it was a small thing but it was a clear sign of his mindset of not actually caring about winning football matches.

Looks like he's played his last game now and I'm delighted, it was a long time coming
 
It's sad how its ending for him, but it is a much needed move by the club.

I hope something is sorted already and he moves early in the January window.
 
Very sad ending to his time here. He will remain one of my favourite players post SAF but ultimately, he’s at fault for how this has ended. He hasn’t shown enough quality on the pitch for a very long time, nor has he shown the desire required to make up for his lack of quality. A transfer would be in the interest of both parties but I doubt anyone will touch him with his insane wages.
 
Seems everyone involved in this have made up their minds and it's just a when he leaves rather than if he leaves.

He was never top level player, he was expected to be top level player, treated and talked about as a top level player, paid as one, but never was top level player on the pitch

It is sad that we'll lose him probably for next to nothing but the last time he was a real game changer is getting longer and longer in the past now.

The second we hired a manager who doesn't play wingers you did wonder where he'd fit in.
 
Id love Arsenal to make some move for him but I think Arteta is wise to his efforts and would pass. Maybe Juventus.
 
It's really sad that it's ending like this, even if the writing has been on the wall for close to two years.

I find it absolutely baffling that a boyhood United fan could chuck it all away in the way he has and I imagine he'll look back in this spell with a significant degree of regret because I don't see how his career goes anywhere but down from here.
 
For this to happen he must be on his way out in some form in Jan - loan or transfer. Not sure how we benefit from that though unless we are bringing in an immediate replacement. Even if someone is covering his wages, surely it'd be better to placate him for 5 months and sell next summer.

Not that I’m saying it was the right decision, but in 4 years under that contract he had three seasons where he had 30+GA. We definitely got our money’s worth there. It’s the latest contract which hasn’t worked out.

There's a decent chance he'll pull a Sancho and find some effort if he moves - his best seasons for us have been when he's had to justify a new contract.
 
If he won’t even make it on the bench, surely the club has a plan to get rid of him in January. I can’t see us keep paying his 300k pw wages without even using him.
 
According to Tuttosport, we offered him to Juventus, hinting at a price of 50 million euros as a price we would be happy with. Juventus seem willing to discuss only a loan deal, while Motta would also prefer Zirkzee over him. It's also rumoured that Bayern Munich and Spurs are the clubs to have expressed interest in a deal this January.

I don’t know hey, honestly, he seems to suffer from a very high dose of victim mentality. I don’t think he has the awareness, nor is surrounded by anyone who would be looking to tell him what his part in all this has been etc.

100% I would take that €50m from Juventus or Bayern. It’s a fair price.

If Spurs want Rashford then we should ask €50m plus Porro.
 
I just hope this gets resolved quickly and doesn't drag on for the whole of January. It must be incredibly tedious for Amorim having to field questions about Rashford before and after every game if it's clear what the outcome has to be.

I am shocked and why there is no mention of us paying 70% of his wages.

You'd think he would look at what happened to Lingard and use it as motivation but he's gone backwards. If you don't like having the highest expectations, you shouldn't be cashing those 300k cheques every week.

It's silly season, so we should take everything with a pinch of salt, obviously, but the article on my local news site did mention actually that Juve are skint and that they told us just that. Anyway, i don't think there's much in it (although the piece seemed detailed), not with news that Vlahović is most likely to stay put. I'd believe that we approached this with a swap deal in mind, but it was always going to be a long shot.

Agreed. Casemiro not playing is a sign that he’s off as well in my opinion.

Absolutely no chance. He's on even sillier wages and doesn't bring a whole circus with him, so is here until the summer certainly.
He still has another year after that, so even then we'll do well to ship.
