I think Amorim was pretty fair with both of them actually. He said he wouldn't have done what they did but he was careful not to criticise them and even gave them an out.
I think he's since discovered Casemiro's legs have gone and Rashford's attitude stinks. Maybe the fact they're both on enormous wages weighs into his thinking somewhere too.
Yeah, I think with Casemiro it's about him just thinking he can't cope with what's required of him physically in this system in the middle of the park.
Rashford's exclusion from the entire squad is obviously a different thing entirely.

It blows my mind that someone who grew up supporting the club can look at Hojlund and Zirkzee's performances and not knuckle down to get his place back. He's 27, a grown ass man, have a talk with Amorim and ask him what he needs to do to get back into the team and do what the manager says. I'm not suggesting he's going to solve our problems at all, but at his best he's better than the options we currently have. We still have 2 trophies to fight for and aren't too far gone with getting into the Europa League next season. He could still play his part and actually earn his money.

Exactly this! He should be doing all he can to force his way back into the team and going that extra mile in training. This whole issue needs to be resolved either by a transfer or confirm he’s staying. It’s hanging over the club with journalists feasting on it.
He is trying to move to Barcelona because there are no other real alternatives for him. Milan decided to buy Walker, Dortmund is not willing to cover more than 70-90k salary for him, he is frozen out in United, where the coach is publicly humiliating him.
The other alternatives were Como, and now the Turkish clubs. He likely won't win anything with Barcelona this year. They are 7 points behind Real Madrid, and Champions League, they are 4th favorites. It's funny that we are talking about ambition and Marcus Rashford in the same sentence. He hasn't shown any for a few seasons now.
Fergie would have made him a really good player if you are being honest. Under LVG he was a very talented young player and Fergie would have made sure the off field issues/distractions were sorted out. Also the clubs culture wouldn’t have been one that has produced the characters we have seen of late

I am no great fan of Rashford but I do believe he is a far better player and goal threat than Hojlund ans Zirkzee. Amorim is not doing either himself or Rashford any good at all by publicly humiliating him. Get him back on the trading ground and give him a bit of match time instead of using the two dummies every match.
That’s massively quoting Rio out of context. The tone of his comments is that Rashford should be embarrassed by the comments and IF IT WAS NOT TRUE he would expect him to correct it. The comment about suing him was Rio saying, if that had been him and he was putting in the effort, then the comments are so defamatory that he would sue.
Rio is a useful idiot. Again, Amorim did not say "I will play my senior citizen buddy before I play Marcus Rashford".
No. I'd much rather we put players on the pitch who give a damn. As seen by that clip above he doesn't give a flying feck. I'd just throw him out completely and isolate him from the club. He's a terrible example to our players.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the latest comments are sufficient for Rashford to end his silence though. He is being continually portrayed by Amorim as a lazy good for nothing and the comments are getting worse. He’s now suggesting that he wouldn’t even pick him ahead of a 60 year old.
Whether a reasonable 3rd party watching training would agree or not, it seems highly unlikely that Rashford himself agrees that he isn’t trying. Will be interesting if we do hear anything from him.

Off topic, but I recall Rooney getting booed by certain sections of Old Trafford that day. Fergie had lined up Kagawa, Van Persie, Welbeck and Hernandez to prepare for Rooney's departure. For those of us who'd already seen how Fergie dealt with Beckham, Stam and a few others in the past, it was quite apparent he had thought of being rid of Rooney.
I honestly cant believe so many want Rashford to leave. I suppose its the same people who wanted AWB, McTominay, Elanga etc out too. Crazy
