Marcus Rashford (out) | signs for Villa on loan

Waiting for the Birmingham Mail and the Birmingham Post to start their unofficial war against United tomorrow.

Last game of the season is Villa at OT.

I’m sure he’ll get a lovely send off after all his hard work over the years. If he’s still making the squad by then.

Most loan arrangements include that the player does not face their home club

He needn't even be there

Who knows? Might have been training or general behaviour behind the scenes (difficult to hide your real self from those who work with you everyday in a tournament environment) or perhaps Southgate just didn't fancy him, however, on the pitch on game day, he ran like a dog for England.

Whenever England come up it always reminds of that clip of him training with the others and Bellingham is giving him daggers because he's laughing and joking about.

Right to let him go of course, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had a great spell at Villa
He probably will, and I wish him all the best. But part about moving on and the part most of our fanbase lack the ability to do is realising that a player can no longer work in one team but then work in another team. Doing well at Villa won’t mean he needs to come back or Amorim made a mistake. It’s not like selling Garnacho and then thinking he should come back. Or say Salah / De Bruyne leaving Chelsea and then thinking Chelsea were wrong or should have resigned them.

The most annoying thing is as a local lad, united through and through, he didn’t turn up when the club needed him the most. That’s what leaves the bitter taste I think.
This! For this reason, I can't even wish him well. Just leave already

It's sad news. I think Amorim has given up too quickly on Rashford. After all, he scored goals in the first games under the new manager.
I see it as a big weakening of the squad. Rashford will always be better than both Højlund and Zirkzee.

Now he is leaving Manchester United and can now play in the Champions League with Aston Villa....It is a setback that many are too stubborn to realize.

nah. he started rashford at the beginning. he spoke to previous managers. he’d have discussed it at length with the club. like rooney said, it’s been two years now. he needs fecking off.

it's the other way round. Amorim dropped both Rashford and Garnacho for the City game and challenged them to adapt and put the work in. One responded and is now applauded by the manager. The other one said he's ready for a new chapter a day later.

Good riddance.

Yeah, I was done after the City game. If having to watch that from home, and seeing us win in the last moments, made him think of doing nothing else other than post "well done lads" on Instagram then nothing was going to motivate him to change his ways.

That's been Rashy the last few years unfortunately. Talking instead of doing.

Bang on. And to preempt anyone that says "maybe Rashford is sick of being scapegoated by multiple managers" don't forget that Garnacho also got the same wake up call under Ten Hag twice and both times he got his head down and worked hard.

Just feel really sad at how it's turned out with him this season. He should have achieved so much more at our club. I hope he can rediscover his form and his passion for the game at Villa -- and hopefully returns to United as a revitalised footballer.

He has changed his Instagram profile pic to him after/during a mammoth gym sesh.

It's says he's interested in CL football at Villa, which is fair enough, but, surely, it was his effort and goals in Ten Hag's first season which did a lot to get us into the top 4. And, it was his drop off in form which went a long way to our finishing in 8th and out of the CL places.

If he wasn't able to motivate himself for his boyhood club, what makes him think he can motivate himself for Villa?

Had a feeling Villa would go for him yesterday after they sold Duran for £60m. My main annoyance is how did Villa get £60m for Duran, and we can’t get a penny for Casemiro (I realise age) or Rashford

A young, exciting player who has been tearing it up and scoring goals in the PL versus two heavily overpaid and seemingly over the hill players who can’t even get in the first team at their current clubs. Do you really have to ask this question?

Are these kind of posts a wind up? Rashford is making no effort, therefore he's not better than anyone. Waste of space.

Can't wait for the "Some squad members are NOT happy with Emery" headlines after the first time Rashy gets benched.

Yes I agree, we need to keep Rashford. I don't personally like to progress as a team, so what if our rivals keep winning trophies like the pl or cl, they nothing compared to what we won, least we can brag we got Rashford so that'll teach them.

As long as we keep our youth no matter how inconsistent or can't be bothered they maybe. We got to respect Rashford because he's our little boy

I agree that a move to Villa seems completely weird. Rashford stated that he needed a fresh start. But is moving a few hours' drive away from Manchester really a fresh start? I would think that a fresh start meant a new league in another country, or at least a top club if he ended up staying in England.

I will hate to see him come back to Old Trafford and play for Aston Villa if they buy him this summer. I've never liked Aston Villa at all, and of course that makes it more complex for me.

I think he will struggle to motivate himself at any club, but who knows, maybe Emery can.

Not just Villa, a stable team?
I dont think Rashford has any interest in being part of a team rebuilding in this case us.

It's Hester Manc, he regularly posts bollocks so this is nothing new
Weird post. I just write my opinions, analyzes and feelings like everyone else here, but I know that they are often different from the majority. If we all thought the same, what would we need a debat forum for?

Feel free to ignore my posts if you find them so terrible. No one is forcing you to read them.

Good of you to highlight your spelling mistake :+1:

That is not my intention. I have always been a big fan of Rashford and I believe that the situation could have been resolved when a new manager came in if the situation had been tackled in a different way.
