Marcus Rashford (out) | signs for Villa on loan

I hope so for him but I don't think he'll ever be a United player again.

I would prefer to sell him now for £30/£40m. End the drama etc.

I think the club would like him to go on loan, hope that he can have a great end of season in PL and CL, then maybe we could get offers over £50m.

Can't put in the effort for us and gets a move to a team in the CL and pushing for top 4,it's a strange world.

And we are going to pay at least half of his wages too!

At least this might open people's eyes to the fact that it's definitely a Marcus Rashford problem not a Manchester United one. Think he could do okay, opt not to stay and still not get into our team then feck off into nothingness. Exactly the same trajectory as his mate Lingard (and to an extent Pogba)

Please include an obligation to buy next summer. Thank you Villa.
If there is a loan to some club this is the first thing we should be talking about. No paying 50/50% wage or some nonsens either. Nothing should be complicated.

If there isn't he should not be loaned out. I have no problem seeing his contract out without him playing a single minute.

Rather lose millions on his wages that way?

Right now there is optimism that Marcus Rashford's loan move to Aston Villa will be completed

You can win something at same time as you lose something. If we hold our ground and not let any club take advantage of us that is only good for future. It is also good that we can tell players, you got this money and we expect you to only concentrate on football. Nothing else.

It should be said it isn't Rashford fault that our people in charge don't understand football and value of money when they give contracts like that. We should be learning from that.

Am assuming it will be a loan, but in regards of a sale if he had to take a wage cut and we paid him out how would his wage pay out factor for PSR am assuming any pay off would be in this years accounts not amortised?

Say for instance we were to pay out 182 weeks at £100k that would be £18.2m, if Villa were to buy for £40m, we have still saved £8.5m on his wages until the summer, call it a net £10m outlay to sweeten the deal and get him shifted, that would still leave us in profit by £30m, I doubt that Rashford would be put on anything above their current highest earner Martinez on £150k per week so he would still be taking a massive hit (albeit with UK tax at 45% over £125k the loss would be what? £65k a week)

Whilst I support a players right to earn as much as they can I hope that Rashford is reasonable in this

He needs a change of scenery. The sad thing is most of us know he is a good player that can score goals in the PL and CL. It’s just gone stale here unfortunately. If he plays for another team the spark may come back.
Yeah, at 27, he needs more dive bars than night clubs.

I have the feeling he'll consider himself too good for Villa.

But if he, or his advisors, had any sense, they'd see it as a huge opportunity. A fantastic manager, playing Champions League football, battling for top 4 (which is more than United can offer), all for a team that has been on the fringes of the big 6 for years now.
If he rejects Villa (They are currently high flying and will continue to be better than us for at least next 2 seasons). Then you know its all just plain old money.

Something a bit mental that Rashford will in theory put the effort in at Aston Villa but not here. What a world he lives in.
He will put in an effort in the first few games to prove a point. After that, he will be back to old self. Well, at least that is what I will hope for.

I hope Rashford is okay. From Rooney’s remarks (and even Pogba, from the earlier poster), it’s clear that there is more of a story that will eventually come out. Why was Rooney advising him to leave United two years ago? What was unhealthy about the combination of United and MR that was going on for years? Rooney also mentioned his own request to leave the club under SAF, a lack of ambition/signings under the Glazers being his stated reason. And Rooney himself struggled with fitness and various corrosive distractions, including booze and gambling. Felt like Wayne was edging close to opening up some painful story.

I don't disagree with that. I just hope if he goes and does well, we don't reopen the door in the summer as we did when we fudged selling Lingard after he did well on loan at West Ham. I don't think we will to be honest, and he's got to go there and do well enough first for that to be an issue, but this should be the beginning of the end now.

If deal goes through hopefully Rashford does well on this loan and earns himself a permanent move somewhere. Thing with Rashford is that even when he's bad he'll still have decent stats in terms of G/A and think that'll be the case at Villa, too. So it could change a narrative about him a bit and make clubs decide to buy him (if not Villa, other clubs around Europe) even though he's on high wages. Fingers crossed it goes that way as he's got no future at United atm.

I maintain the idea that a Rashford that is fit and gives 100% effort is a fine player. He'd instantly improve us tons.

I know some are saying he was never good or he was always average but I don't agree with that. I think if he had been completely professional he'd have been a really good player with occasional periods of being a brilliant player which would have been nice to have in the squad.

The issue of course is his application, he's just appeared checked out for most of the last 4 years. It's been completely unacceptable. If he does go Villa I'm sure we'll get a few weeks of him giving 100% but I just cannot see a world where he keeps it up there.

They’ve just been injected with a shit tonne of Saudi money. Surely they can chuck 25m of it our way and just get him permanently. If he does well then he won’t be that cheap in the summer.

Looks like itl happen. Good move for him in my opinion, I think he can do well there. Win all round if it works out.
Yeah, Villa play sort of a high tempo, quick transition (direct) style which will suit him as well.

Hopefully he kills it over there and we have some real suitors after him during the summer.

Who knows? Might have been training or general behaviour behind the scenes (difficult to hide your real self from those who work with you everyday in a tournament environment) or perhaps Southgate just didn't fancy him, however, on the pitch on game day, he ran like a dog for England.
Thanks bud. Yeah either training or maybe just his general form wasn't good enough at the end of the day. England has less options at CB versus, say, out wide, where there are options in abundance.

If he goes to villa on loan he better not demand the 25% bonus for playing in the CL!

But if he does, I will be rooting for him and hope he does well.

Racism doesn't always work like this, though. There are probably United fans who attach racist epitaphs to Rashford, but love Amad.

Whenever Amad has a few bad games, he'll get bile, too.

It's not only racists against Rashford, either. There's a few Tories and associated 'anti-woke' culture warriors, sick of 'political correctness', who'd love to see MR fail for their own ends.

Not the majority, of course, but they do exist, let us not lie.

What utter nonsense is this? Of course there will be some of those spiteful and disgusting people. However, there will also be plenty who just think he’s way due an exit at Old Trafford because he isn’t putting in an effort and that he used to a fan favourite who is bow tarnishing his reputation.

Lest not forget that of the most hard working players with legendary, or nesr legendary status, you would find fan favourites such as Evra, Valencia and Ji Sung Park.

if Loaning him is this difficult, imagine how difficult selling him would be.
Hopefully he’ll shine at Villa which will show teams he’s still got some quality left in him. And we make money at the end of the season.

maybe a few of them on twitter, but I can't find any here.

Let’s hope he performs as well as Lingard did for West Ham loan and we won’t be stupid enough to take him back this time.

Hopefully the rumours of a verbal offer to Tel means we’re expecting the loan to Villa to go through.

Hope so. Feels like we’ve actually turned a corner though with the new people taking over. I don’t think we’re that stupid anymore with transfers and we seem to be putting on sell on clauses for certain players.

Would be fantastic if he helps Villa get top 4 and keep Chelsea out. I think he will do well at Villa and help get a good club in the summer.

How much of an effect had them injury problems? Not sure whether or not he can play without pain. I remember Van Persie who said for seven years or so he had to endure daily.

I don't think that it's a coincidence that almost every big player gets into trouble at some point. Di Maria, Schweinsteiger, Lukaku, Ronaldo, Sancho now Rashford, question is who's going to be next? There's something rotten behind the scenes. Rashford should get out, i do think if he's injury free he can be a big player in the Premier League again. Age is on his side and he's got the skillset to be a regular match winner.
