Marcus Rashford (out) | signs for Villa on loan

People saying Rashford wouldn’t want to go to Villa because of his ego or it being beneath him BUT Villa are in the last 16 of the Champions League and fighting for top four again whilst we’re in 12th and playing in Europa so right now Villa are the more attractive option than us whilst we’re in yet another transitional period

Now that Duran has gone for £64 million we know Villa have money so even if they only offered us £25 million for Rashford that would be great as it’s pure profit PSR wise and £18 million a year off the wage bill, the fact Ornstein and Whitwell have gone with the story makes it credible so all we can do is pray Villa sign him

Well yeah, Villa are a better team than us, so its a step up for him  Sancho also did far worse than Rashford and is now playing for Chelsea.

Not sure where he fits though, he's not a Buendia and doesnt play as a striker.

What is this ego? I'm not aware of anything he's done being particularly egotistical.

He's been in and out of the United team, hasn't played for England for a couple of years, and has already gone through a summer where we openly said we'd listen to offers for him and yet nothing came in. I'm pretty sure he knows what his stock is.

And he likely knows full well the issues his wage has caused for potential suitors.

That doesn’t have enough sly digs at Rashford in it for most of the lads on this forum mate

Villa on loan until the summer would be good for him. And for us. An in-form Rashford should be worth around 50 Mio in the summer and I would assume appr. 200k per week on wages. This means he is overpaid by 150k per week at the moment. With his contract running 3 more years this is roughly 150 weeks times 150k so probably 20-25 Mio we need to deduct from his price.
We should still get 20-30 Mio for him in case he gets his reputation back until the summer.

 the disrespect at Villa is quite funny to read. They are currently better than we are. They might be 8th in the league but we are 12th. They also finished 8th in the CL goup stage and we are in the Europa League.

Think it’s fair to say it wouldn’t be his first choice but if it’s the only one, I do think he’d go there on loan. A chance to play in the Champions League and put himself in the shop window for the summer will see to that.

Think you're taking things a tad bit too seriously.

This is Lingard all over again. Big clubs to have him according to media. And we know why. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Milan, Universe FC. Reallity was and is he wasn't even good enough for Championship. Aston Villa would be amazing for him if that was true. One of bigger clubs in England. History. Good fanbase. I'm not even sure if he would play there when they have better players.

Nonsense

Firstly, Rashford is a much better player than Lingard.

Nobody wanting Lingard had nothing to do with his wages. Nobody wanting Rashford has a massive amount to do with his wages.

Would Rashford get a game for Villa unless they plan on using him as a Duran replacement?

I'd have Bailey or Ramsey in the team before him, and if Malen hits the ground running I'd imagine he'd be above in the pecking order as well.

Seems an odd move if it goes ahead.

Rashford to Arsenal makes more sense, but would United loan/sell one of their homegrowns to an old nemesis.

Villa will take him. They are dodgy as feck at the moment with all the deals with Chelsea and Saudi. Big money club.

I think if he has the choice between going to Aston Villa or staying he will stay. I hope he will double to improve.
Maybe he will play for us again and end up scoring and there will be two possible celebration choices: he kisses the badge or makes the shush sign .

When somebody asked yesterday if Villa might now come in I thought nah, no chance.

Might rest on how persuasive Emery is if he’s driving it but at least it’s another potential avenue out.

Yeah never have I wanted Emery to be persuasive

Is he? This year? Evidence is that it is same situation. Football doesn't look like priority and it shows.

It is not only about wages. If he was good, there would be lot of teams wanting him. There aren't.

There is no such thing as an inform Rashford, he is a player of very limited ability, he essentially had one party trick and that trick doesn't work anymore. Sending him on loan will only hurt his value because the wider football world hasn't realized this yet, or they have and that's the real reason he isn't getting offers.

But his playing over the next 4 months, regardless of where that might be, will not be increasing his value, he doesn't possess the skills necessary to increase his value. Sell him now before he's fully exposed to the greater football world.

Wider footballing world hasn't realised how limited Rashford is? Give me a break. They all know.

It's Rashford and his brother that haven't realised

The arrogance of playing like he has for 2 seasons and only wanting to play for Barca, if he can pull it off fair play to him.

I still do not understand what the big deal is about him. His talent and importance to United is overhyped; he would not get into Fergusons great sides. It is, however, in keeping with the general overhyping of English players since forever and of some United players over the last 12 years. We are not good because even players considered our best arent good enough.

As the Saudi window is closed and Casemiro is staying, becomes even more important for us to try and move Rashford on if we are tight on PSR.

Looks like Rashford is running out of options of where to go

The arrogance of wanting to play for one of the biggest clubs in Spain after not being wanted here, he should just join West Brom. Jesus some of the takes in here to bash rashford is crazy
