Tbf I think he has been quite respectful to both Amorim and the club since being frozen out. And I'd lump Casemiro in with that as well. Neither have said anything negative about either the management or the club.
His interview was not respectful, at all.

Alright, if you insist. Let's start in chronological order:

That is neither clear nor visibly true. All we publicly know is that Rashford and Garnacho were both dropped and asked to show more in training. One of them clearly complied and is starting games for us despite being up for sale. The other immediately did a private journalistic interview where he said he wanted a new challenge. What we see is that Rashford asked for the move. That was the action, not the reaction.

It may have been a reaction to the club silently but explicitly putting him up for sale and telling his camp that he was not in their plans *before* the Winter piece. We don't know, but if we had to guess that it's extremely unlikely because (a) Rashford's PR would have highlighted that immediately, (b) Amorim would not have said his being dropped is solely due to effort in training, and not talked about how we needed Rashford'd qualities instead, and (c) we see with Garnacho that being up for sale does not stop this manager from picking you.

So sure, we don't completely know, but all available info strongly seems to suggest that Rashford blindsided the club with exit talk in that Winter piece.

Here you do an a b c to argue why it's very unlikely both that the cultural reboot article was a brief, and that the club wanted him out.

a) That's just a strange assumption on your part. "Rashford's PR" very rarely do any official statements, why would that change here? I remember reading reports of Rashford being very unhappy with learning that the club has been trying to sell him behind his back, but you'd presumably reject that like you're rejecting the cultural reboot.

b) Why would Amorim not have said that? This isn't even me necessarily disagreeing, but I can't even begin to understand your train of thought.

c) Yes, of course Amorim can play Rashford if he wants, which he doesn't want to. Rashford would probably be playing if he was performing better, or did better in training. What does that have to do with anything? Not a rhetorical question, I have no idea what you're trying to show with this.

Not sure what you guys are arguing about, but it's fecking tedious

Because as said by Neville and Rooney there, he's not a bad trainer. Most of the time at least. It's pretty much his life outside football.
as if they had any insight how he is in training these days.
How does how a person dresses reflect their attitude? You see the most ridiculous things being worn by athletes regularly. It's a nonsense argument and potentially racially tinged.
if that was the only thing noone would care but it all adds up. Some already realized when he (and BW for example) had ice around their necks with their names/initials. How much more obvious can it be they bought into their own hype. and there are plenty more examples with rashford where he thought he was something better than your average joe i.e. parking wherever not caring about the rules/fines. So yeah, all that "good guy things" he has done makes no sense in that light. It might be cynical, but is it really so crazy to think it was done for good pr? How much effort did any of his undoubtfully good things he done actually take? How much of it did he came up with himself or was it advised? I understand that is not well looked upon to critizies him for obviously good things he has done but isn't it evident he is very entitled and selfish? It seems so out of character to be honest when you see how he apparently acts in daily life and yes I will get hate for that. Its a serious matter and it was against the government i don't believe any of it was actually written/said by him without advisors and yes of course its a win win for him he feeds kid(who would be against it?) and it makes him look good. Just like putting his name on books.

With the way young kids are improving and getting minutes (Collyer, Garnacho, Kobbie, Dorgu (hopefully) and Yoro), it will be a bad influence to keep him on the 1st team.

why is no one talking about the obvious reason for Rashford’s decline? It’s common knowledge he was body-snatched by pod people whose home planet has a higher oxygen to nitrogen ratio. #feckingFactsInnit

Sadly I get the same feeling.

Every day I log on hoping to see an update to a thread that he's going for a medical or something

I remain hopeful he can find another club :)
Surely, there is some market for him. He's overpaid on ~£300k a week, but for £100k a week he'd have suitors. Even if someone covered that much of his wages with no additional loan fee, that saves us £2M the rest of the season in wages. More likely we can find a suitor willing to cover £3-4M.

I'm not sure we want to do that. If we insist on full wage coverage or no deal, it could be true that there's no market for that. Ultimately, that's a choice though; would we rather keep him to stay at home than receive a few million in wage coverage? I'm thinking in the end there will be some loan deal struck, but we'll see. It doesn't really benefit anyone (player or club) for him to stay at home.

What he chooses to wear in his own time has nothing to do with his performances.

I don't understand him. If he wants a move or wants to stay, surely it is in his interest to train hard? Being left out of the team means he loses his appearance money. So even if money is motivating him, this is hitting his own bottom line. A ridiculous situation. And then what kind of stories is going to tell his kids/grandkids about his time at United. Surely, he must have more pride than that.

No team make any offer for him ! I was expecting at least one offer from Saudis but nothing . If we put whole team on sale we probably get an offers only for Garnacho , Amad , Ugarte .
Go away

I don't feel as strongly against Rashford as others, and will wish him well actually

But loaning him is quite important now. Amorim has clearly laid down his marker that a lack of effort won't be tolerated. If he then U-turns and lets him back in then I think he'll lose some respect. You can't give this current bunch an inch. They need to know they'll be fecked off if they don't give it all.

Luckiest fecker ever if he landed a gig with Barcelona with his recent form. If that doesn’t give him motivation to try then he may as well pack it in.

If he’s going on loan, it would definitely be preferable for him to go somewhere he’s a guaranteed starter. He’s going to have to play at his best at Barcelona to force his way into the starting 11 there and query whether there is any hope of them then buying him in the summer anyway.

That said, if that’s the only option, I think we have to accept it. We have to get him playing football and hope he hits form before the summer to facilitate a sale.

Everyday I come to this thread to look for her we go tweet but always left disapointed.

Bit surprising Barca are still in for him but seems like they're our only hopy as Rashford won't go to Saudi League and Italian clubs probably can't afford his wages.

At least window is almost closed so we'll know soon.

I'm almost certain he'll leave on loan.

Even if we have to pay 100% of his wages, we'll be doing that anyway and his presence here is a huge distraction. Amorim is never going to play him.

With any luck he'll be half decent wherever he goes and someone will buy him in the summer.

I'd rather he help out the kitchen staff than watch him play for another club subsidised 100% by us

Completely agree. We just need to get his toxicity away from everyone else.
Somebody said earlier in the thread that he's said he won't take a pay cut so it's obviously not about getting game time and the England squad.
He just needs to feck off!

You need a new poster boy, someone big, to show the world that your club is not in difficulties.... or whatever else, just take him
.... well, only if you pay us.

Seriously, I don't get this movement at all.

Yeah, you're right.

Thing is - of course - that people see him attending a basketball game in New York, pretty much doing the celeb thing (being high-profile in a high-profile setting)...and they don't like it because of the circumstances: Basically what Neville criticized him for (he shouldn't be flying to New York and back to enjoy himself in the middle of a shite season, just before a new coach is about to arrive). It arguably indicates something - it says something about the player's priorities (again arguably).

But you're absolutely right in pointing out that it has nothing to do with how he dresses.

Also worth noting that Amorim actually defended Rashford here: he made it very clear that he didn't blame Rashford for flying over. He said he wouldn't have allowed it - but that was very much an indictment of the culture at the club and not a personal attack on Rashford.

(In fact, I would say he went out of his way to be diplomatic towards Rashford - and Casemiro too - with regard to this.)

My issue with him going to Barca on a loan would be the likelihood he ends up being predictably underwhelming, coupled to the abundance of talent they already have there in attacking positions as well as how hostile their fans can be. It just means he comes back in the summer, cementing his reputation as stealing a living at the wages he's on making it less likely we'll offload him for good.

Don't get me wrong, I'd drive him to Barcelona myself (especially if the rumours of them willing to cover all his wages are true), but I'd much rather he joins a smaller club, ideally in a lesser league where he'd be able to stat pad and look impressive, making it easier for us to sell him permanently in the summer.
