Marcus Rashford (Out) | Rashford: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

That’s a mental interview to do. Winter doesn’t put it out there without Rashford’s consent either.

When was the last time one of our own players publicly stated they were ready to leave in the middle of a season?

Such a bizarre, self-interested thing to do.

90% of football fans have fallen for the continuous character assassination against him that's been going on for years, initiated by self-serving non-United fan bums like Goldbridge and bottom of the barrel outlets like the Daily Mail and Express.

Why would he suddenly care about the timing of a random interview?

It's like 2 years ago when all the people continuously abusing Maguire thought how dare he not accept the West Ham offer just because the same stupid fans wanted him to, despite it being far from beneficial for the player himself both financially and sporting wise.

Abuse the player because the media and social media tells you to, and then act entitled when they might not care about your wishes.

It’s because I bought my kid a Rashford shirt for Christmas ffs.

I’m gutted with this, he’s definitely already been pushed out (and totally understandable) and just trying to get out there first in the media. Why else would he go to them a day after getting dropped from the derby. Feckinhell rash, can’t you just stay quiet about things.

Gutted he turned to shit and lost effort here

The pile on is really sad. Rashford has done better for us than the vast majority of signings we have made in the last 10 years, yet he seems to have received way more criticism.

Yes, his form has been patchy, but it is not like United have been anywhere near challenging for a title in his years in the first team. Just look back at the times when United have been half decent in recent years and you will see that Rashford was scoring goals and contributing. His form seemed to go hand in hand with that of the team. Was there ever a period were we were looking good and Rashford wasn't part of it?

Didn't we all think Ten Hag had something going in the winter of 22/23, when Rashford was scoring for fun and won 3 x PL POTM awards? Salah is the only other player to win 3 POTMs in a season.

The fact he has played under 5 permanent United managers and 3 caretakers tells you more about the state of the club than it does Marcus Rashford.

Does he have limitations in his game? Yes.

For me, he isn't suited to the way top modern teams play. More of a fast twitch sprinter that would rather save his energy for going one on one with a defender, than the modern technical player that wants to see more of the ball and is expected to press from the front.

I hope he does well wherever he goes because he has been a great servant to the club.

He's more Spurs or Everton level now.

If you're a casual, then yes, that's what you will believe. But it's not the truth.
Maybe direct some of your ire towards Henry Winter who has shown his ‘independence’ for all to see. The interview is as probing as Oprah’s of Harry & Meghan.

Let's not act like that piece of shit didn't manage to influence a lot of gullible people to hate on Rashford just because he called them out for spreading misinformation on Twitter once. I find it absolutely embarrassing that he is such a big voice in the fanbase when it's been proven time and time again that he has 0 reliable ITK info and he's clearly not a United fan. He's someone who riles up the gullible part of the United fanbase for clicks.

He’s being paid £300k+ per week to care..

Two years ago.
The have changed their model since and Barcola is doing a great job at left forward.
Thank you! Getting quite annoyed at the amount of people just lazily linking him to them.

Things like this are always a good litmus test to see which people know about anything outside of the Premier league.

Watch psg now sign him haha although I'm pretty certain they won't. If they do feel free to quote me and I'll happily admit I'm wrong.

Why is everyone saying he is going to PSG? Based on what? He was linked 2 years ago?

some people seem to be under the impression he can still play at a top club

and that a top club will pay his wages

why I have no clue

He’s been dropped by our last few managers even Ragnick could see it he must be toxic which is certainly disappointing being a local lad and supposed fan.

Great PR team though doesn’t he

There's been a string of academy players that have shown terrible attitude and application at united recently.

Rashford
Lingard
Pogba
Greenwood

I don't think he has anything lined up.

Think this is a case of the club wanting rid. His agent has probably asked the club if there's any truth to the stories and the club have told him yeah, that he is surplus. Coupled with dropping out of the team, this is him telling the world he's available

Wish we had sold him years ago when he still had value

This is waffle and nothing to do with what I said.

I’m happy to be corrected, but I genuinely can’t think of a time when one of our first team players has come out in an interview and said they’re looking forward to their next challenge somewhere else.

Unhelpful, unprofessional and completely stupid.

I do not think he is toxic ,I think he struggles with the physical side of the game these days. He has never been the same since he had that bad back injury for me. He has also got involved with the glitterati of being a famous face. He is a united fan remember, a local lad, so let's all wish him well.

Especially after being dropped for a seemingly unprofessional and poor attitude. Goes to show he was right to be dropped.

How can he need a new challenge if he can't even handle the current one.

Seeing a lot of the PR nonsense being said on twitter in relation to his charity work which is a shame to see but not exactly surprising. A certain caf poster is on there spreading shite too. Certain people have been on his case ever since he had the cheek to help a few kids out with their school meals. He's a wrong un alright.

So what does that make the club who clearly briefed he was up for sale?

He knowingly devalues himself with this comments and makes it harder for us to sell him for a good price. So in fact he is just doing the opposite from what he is telling in the interview.

Could also be that he is just naive.

I am sorry cause I always liked him as a player and person but if he can’t take a bit of stick from the manager he isn’t right for top team. So good luck.

As there are only three positions in the new system for him that will normally go to Bruno Amad hojlund garna or mount he won’t be missed and he knows this
Come on, how is this even rational.

He's a player that guarantees PSG at least 30 league G/A every season + lethal transition threat + x factor in any big game, be it a domestic game vs Marseille or a big CL tie. They also have players like Lucas Hernández, Skriniar, Kolo Muani and Asensio on astronomical wages so Rashford won't be the one they're not willing offer anything IMO.

There are absolutely reasons why PSG might want to sign Rashford although I hope he won't go there, as it's a soulless, artifically built up club.

Januzaj, Martial, Williams too. Teenagers who were brought through at a club that pampers and spoils them like superstars before they have achieved anything. The players have to take some responsibility but the club failed them too.

Rashford PR team, is that you?

A great servant to the club doesn't put in the embarrassing amount of effort on the pitch for over two years he has. Posts like this are exactly why I'm over the moon he's leaving the club, because no matter what he does, he's defended like he's a king.

Maybe it is all those things. However he probably feels hard done by, by both the club and the fanbase, so he might not care much anymore, especially if he was told to leave.

I have real mixed emotions about this. Rashford is a Manchester lad playing for the club he loves but he's no longer playing at the level we need him to be at.

If he goes, and it appears more likely than ever, then he goes with my best regards and thanks for the memories of when he was a very good player for us.

I hope the fans don't pile on too much, show more class.

I wish him all the best.

it is surprising how some have fallen for the daily mail nonsense, a few years after the event. For the skeptics out there..

If I remember correctly, he literally took on the actual govt at the time and gave them a bloody nose and made them change policy on school meals. At the same time the charity he was involved with has fed over 400,000 kids.

Can you explain what the "PR team" has done for him? Because it's repeated on here and social media every day but I can't recall a single thing they did to "boost his image" or similar.

So what does that make the club who clearly briefed he was up for sale?

Stories about clubs looking to shift players are in the news all the time. That’s part of the game and clubs, agents and players all engage in that.

Rashford doing this interview with Winter is an active decision to tell the world he’s looking to leave. That isn’t the norm and doesn’t help anyone.

By all means leave. By all means want to leave. Just keep your head down and wait it out. I have no personal issue with Rashford, but this is a seriously daft thing to do.

In America people who didn't agree with one political party were called ‘deplorables’ or ‘garbage’. In redcafe if you critique Rashford or Dwaine you are ‘gullible’.

He might feel that way, and I don’t really have an issue if he does. Point stands, it’s still a bonkers interview that does nothing to improve his standing both at the club and in the game itself.

If you're a casual, then yes, that's what you will believe. But it's not the truth.

His level is Everton and Crystal Palace at best.

A player who scores on average less than 10 goals per season in the pl and doesn't press or create a lot, can't aim for better.

A very unusual statement to make after being dropped for 1 game. Who knows what is going on behind closed doors and what state of mind Rashford is in; but he sounds done here. Was hoping he could come back and provide at least a good bench option because he will be hard to shift.

You cant teach kids to be good unless you have a good teacher.

We have had poor management for a long time now post saf that it effected the mentality of quite young players rather than them being purposely mentally weak.

Saw it called out with Rangnick & now under amorim but ultimately Its easier for him to now have a new challenge than challenging a way he has been bought up ever since his debut apparences of his only school of poor teachers.

Maybe this is why Maguire did well, he didnt always play at United & had highs and lows at different clubs.

Rashford however has only had one club & ultimately one type of lifestyle arguably since the day he was born at the club.

I hope he can get in to top 10's scorers for us because i did enjoy him play when he was at his best but i understand that many wont care.

Can you explain what the "PR team" has done for him? Because it's repeated on here and social media every day but I can't recall a single thing they did to "boost his image" or similar.

He's been guilt tripping the fan base for years via his PR team, and then proceeding to serve up absolute rubbish on the pitch after their statements, much like the ones in your post.

Yeah, we would look stupid if he is holding a PSG shirt tmw. But i can't see it.

The PSG stuff came about when PSG though Mbappe was leaving and maybe saw Rashford (in 22/23 form) as a replacement. A lot has changed since.

Lets face facts, if United fans, PL fans and United coaches can see that Rashford is lacking in several departments and not worth a big transfer fee and wages, why would anyone think that scouts or the manager at PSG would put their neck on the line for him? PSG are moving away from their galacticos model.

Why do our managers keep getting roped into these dramas?
I don't even think this one is really a big drama. Maybe because of the profile of the player but it looks to me like he doesn't really fit into his plans and it's best to move on. Maybe we'll hear more info to say otherwise but I see it as pretty normal, aside from the very public nature of it.
