Marcus Rashford (Out) | Rashford: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

PSG's interest disappeared when Luis Enrique came in. Rashford isn't his kind of player and they have Barcola anyway.

I'm sad it hasn't worked out but it's time, unfortunately. As long as he doesn't end up at a rival I hope he's able to revive his career to some extent but it's pretty obvious that's not going to happen here.

Like Maguire who chose to stay when other clubs couldn't match his wages I would expect Rashford to be the same.
Don't see the Rashford and Maguire situations as the same.

Maguire when fit has been a mainstay for England, regardless of his club form. He wasn't really risking his international place by sticking around, throw in the clubs situation with CBs last season, given he only had the injury prone varane ahead of him and was always going to get opportunities to play. He backed himself to deliver if he did get the chance, which to his credit he did, he's been solid for a good 18 month's now.

Rashford is already on the outside looking in for England, he's just said in the same interview how important going to the 2026 world cup is for him. There are loads of options in his position and the only way he will force his way back into the fold is by improving his terrible club form. His chances at united under amorim are going to be limited, there's no clear fit for him in the system and amorim has indicated his attitude wont be tolerated any more and left him out of the biggest game of the season.

I think Rashford goes, his own ego won't allow him to fade into obscurity which is currently being threatened by staying at united.

Shame it's turned out this way, but this is the best outcome for everyone. Hes lost his way here and doesn't look to be able to turn it around. Hopefully we can get some decent money and use it to replace him with someone who's a better fit for Amorim's system. Hopefully for Marcus the new environment reignites his career and he can finally live up to that initial potential. I'm still an England fan at the end of the day so I want Marcus firing at a major tournament even if it won't be in red.

About time, I hope we get a tidy sum for him and we can invest it well.

Should have left earlier. He has been subpar for years, like football isnt his main passion and job. Maybe a change of scenery and an easier league will help him gain back the fire he once had. Or it will just be downhil from here. Either way, after those comments, he is off soon, which is also good for us.

He came through the youth system, played with a broken back, scored a lot of goals and up until recently looked to be doing his best.

Whatever has gone wrong for him in the last couple of years is unfortunate, and I’ll take no pleasure seeing him leave. But it’s clear he isn’t going to rekindle whatever he had unless he gets a fresh start somewhere else.
Yip.

He knowingly devalues himself with this comments and makes it harder for us to sell him for a good price. So in fact he is just doing the opposite from what he is telling in the interview.

Could also be that he is just naive.

I am sorry cause I always liked him as a player and person but if he can’t take a bit of stick from the manager he isn’t right for top team. So good luck.

As there are only three positions in the new system for him that will normally go to Bruno Amad hojlund garna or mount he won’t be missed and he knows this

I hope this means he will be willing to be flexible with his wage demands, I hope we get a decent deal and I hope he gets a move to a good club where he can exell.

I don't understand the antipathy towards Rashford, I am disappointed with how he has dropped off, but I wish him nothing but good things.

Why are people saying best of luck to him?

He’s one of our highest paid players, local and a fan of the club. For that we’ve had two years of shocking performance, attitude and disciplinary issues. Now he’s acting like he’s achieved as much as he can here and will move on to something better. He doesn’t realise how good he had it.

So reading between the lines Amorim has worked him out very quickly, and told him he has no future at the club.

You'd hope a deal is already sorted. If not then I agree it's a dick move by him.

He's on less than £250k a week and we'll sell him no problem. Someone wants him obviously, otherwise he wouldn't be talking like this and we wouldn't be leaking that he's up for sale

I’ve seen multiple reports that he’s on over 300k but even at 250k it eliminates a lot of clubs

Let’s see

Any money we might get for him isnt going to be reinvested, its going to be used to balance the books.

As disappointing as it is that the situation came down to this but it had to happen. I’m glad for Ruben that he won’t have to deal with this anymore and more than anything I’m happy for our club moving forward now. No player is bigger than this club and no manager especially a new one should be undermined or held back by the influence of players. Well done Ineos and best of luck Marcus.

I do wonder if other managers didn’t have the power to ditch him given his wages and status

The club have finally figured enough is enough

While I hope he goes on to rediscover his form (as long as its not for another Premier league side) I would question if he can ever play for Utd again after saying this tonight.

There is no hate, no bad feeling but saying you are ready to move on makes me wonder if he should be in the dressing room anymore around players who want to play for us still.

No he isn't. He is on well over £300k.

I'd have zero issue seeing him at a different Premiership club, in fact it would be nice to see him in this league still.

Chelsea seems like the logical choice, but maybe City could be tempted.

Arsenal and Chelsea would be options in the PL I think

Rashers looks off,Evans close to hanging up boots, garnacho god only knows. Former youth players in first team squad record is worrying now. Kobbie and maybe amad only ones now???

Yup. He is going to get mercilessly booed. Not a very smart boy saying this in the middle of a tumultuous season when he has been one of the worst players in the team.

Not everyone is Maguire, I cant say I'm surprised this place is like 80+ percent against him and it's like that elsewhere....

and it's amazing that those that rinse him the most take this as another opportunity to fire a shot.... nah it's actually not, it's as predictable as the sunrise....

Fair play, at least you're off the fence this time!

My feelings towards Rashford, is like an exchange from one of my favourite movies, if you know, you know.

  • Teddy: When you look at me, what do you see.
  • Robert McCall: [chuckles, shifts in his seat]
  • Teddy: The answer's nothing. I have no feeling about you one way or the other. You're like... like lint or a bottle cap. You're just a thing to remove.

Seeing as they could be headed for league 2, it might suit him....

Fair but if you wanted his contract gone from the club he’s negotiating at his top rate
Yeah but as far as he's concerned he knows he won't see that money again unless he goes to Saudi so any club making a bid will offer him around £200k a week and first team football, he'll take it and be off once they throw in some add ons for goals and what not. It's doable for a lot of Europes best teams.

His PR team working at full again by sharing his humanitarian things.
I want him gone, don't care if it's in Premier League or out.

Did we need to be so public in declaring he's for sale? Expect us to get insultingly low offers now, one of which we'll succumb into accepting too out of sheer desperation. Daniel Levy probably licking his lips preparing a £15million bid.
