Marcus Rashford (Out) | Rashford: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

What’s the alternative, sulking the place for next 6 months if there’s no buyer
i mean unfortunately yes. Makes no sense if clubs want to try and screw us over with some "we'll take him on loan but you pay the entire salary and we have zero obligation to buy"

Surely he won't be playing for us anytime soon? Can't see the fans reaction being too kind

Not everyone is Maguire, I cant say I'm surprised this place is like 80+ percent against him and it's like that elsewhere....

and it's amazing that those that rinse him the most take this as another opportunity to fire a shot.... nah it's actually not, it's as predictable as the sunrise....
It will be interesting to see the posters that make cheap jibes and personal insults which in their sorry heads must sound funny will turn their ire on next. There will always be someone else for them.

I hope he has something lined up, and this isn’t him forcing his way out.

Sounds like he's going abroad from the way he's talking
Good luck to him
Don't wish him any ill will even though his performances have dropped off
Sounds like he's PSG bound

You have to wonder if he will feature again. Rare to see a player basically saying he’s leaving like that.

he tried to tough it out and reclaim his spot for all of about 6 training sessions. there was nothing more he could have done.

Saying he's ready for a new challenge in the context of his performances over the past few years is wild.

He's absolutely deluded. There's a new challenge here and now at Old Trafford.

What can you expect from a player who is as weak willed as he is?

Wherever he goes, it'll only be a loan.
The way he's spoken there that doesn't sound to be the case. Beforehand that seemed most likely because of how much he is earning but those comments speak to someone who thinks a fresh start is the best option.

It's sad that it's come to this, at his best he's been fantastic for us and it's been great to see such highs from an academy player and local lad who is a fan of the club who has also done a lot of good off the pitch, but it feels like a parting is in everybody's best interests now.

This escalated very quickly.

I’d speculate that he’s had a move to another club lined up since we broke the news he’s up for sale last week, and both sides are trying to manage the PR side of things in their own way so the move doesn’t come as a shock come January.

Sad and everything but will be right for all parties.

He’s been really poor for a long time now, even season before he got the new contract and it’s not a good message to continue to keep him on the deal he’s on with the amount he’s contributing.

It's very simple. Amorim has told him he won't start for us. He wants to be selected for the world cup. Therefore, despite his huge wages and protection here, he has no choice but to move for another club where he may have a chance of being a starter and being selected by Tuchel.

He has broken this to the media to preempt Amorim from talking about it in the next presser. Just trying to win the PR war.

His England aspirations may work in our favor as he may take a paycut and cooperate for a move to a smaller club in January.

I genuinely cannot see him staying in the premier league...my guess is Paris aka fashion and glamour capital. I can't imagine team Rashford taking a huge wage cut either.

He came through the youth system, played with a broken back, scored a lot of goals and up until recently looked to be doing his best.

Whatever has gone wrong for him in the last couple of years is unfortunate, and I’ll take no pleasure seeing him leave. But it’s clear he isn’t going to rekindle whatever he had unless he gets a fresh start somewhere else.

We need the money and we need a player, we already don't have options as it is

Well he’s on 350k a week and will be lucky to shift him I can’t see a queue of clubs lining up to buy him honestly unless it’s a cut price deal or obligation to buy loan

“A new challenge” - like he’s achieved everything there is to achieve here! Maintaining the standards we need is the challenge. What he actually means is that he’s not up to the challenge any more and needs to leave for somewhere where he doesn’t need to try as hard.

Bets of luck to him. Obviously we tend to think only of the benefits for United but for the player, it's a new challenge and a fresh start like he says.

Who's going to buy him though?

He's on less than £250k a week and we'll sell him no problem. Someone wants him obviously, otherwise he wouldn't be talking like this and we wouldn't be leaking that he's up for sale

Be weird seeing him in a new club and new colours. He’s one of our own. But I think it’s in everyone’s best interest for him to move on.

Whoever gave him that contract should be sued by the shareholders for destroying value. He's crap but we should be getting minimum £60m for him and we will get nowhere near that because of his bloated salary.
