The fact he’s up at 1am stewing over things like this isn’t good. Obvious that his head isn’t in the game when he plays too

This 100%, delete it all. You will not regret it.Only explanation that would give me sympathy would be if he has been forced to play with injuries throughout the season, because we are so threadbare in attack.
Obviously abuse is never ok, but as depressing as that sounds, it is just a fact of social media these days. So if Rashford is truly bothered by it, he should simply get off those platforms, because he cannot change it. It's probably something many people would benefit from, also beyond professional sports.
Drinking? I do wonder....The fact he’s up at 1am stewing over things like this isn’t good. Obvious that his head isn’t in the game when he plays too
Yeah that's a good point. I do think the abuse of him has gone overboard, but why is he scrolling on Twitter reading about himself? Surely a club psychologist would advise against this? It's only going to make you feel like shit. The fact he’s up at 1am stewing over things like this isn’t good. Obvious that his head isn’t in the game when he plays too

There is research emerging showing a detrimental impact on children's mental health from social media use and it doesn't take much of a leap to think it is the same for adults; especially those who are exposed to hundreds of thousands of anonymous opinions about themselves 24/7.This 100%, delete it all. You will not regret it.
Never had it and never will.
As for Rashford, I don't know anything about twitter - but as a Manchester Utd player he needs to move on for himself.
These associations were stronger than links between mental health and binge drinking, sexual assault, obesity, and hard drug use, suggesting that these associations may have substantial practical significance as many countries are experiencing rising rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide among teenagers and young adults.
Why not sell to a “domestic rival” ?We’re obviously not going to be selling to a domestic rival. Real Madrid have a surplus of left forwards who are better and younger - one of whom is going to be the player he could potentially replace at PSG. The Italian teams are unlikely to cough up the money needed for a permanent transfer, and pay his salary.
PSG have been heavily linked in the past and it’s been confirmed that his brother/agent was in strong talks with then last season. People are just making assumptions here, nobody is claiming to be a financial director who is privy to who will be interested in Rashford.
I agree, I think the relationship has soured even with united fans and Rashford. A move would be the best for both parties. He should move abroad. A change of scenery may help him leave his troubles here and revatalise him as a person / player.
On abuse, I’ll never support it. Especially as I imagine some of it will be racial nature. On the football criticism, it is absolutely justified as beyond poor performances, Rashford has let us down with a lack of effort far too many times now.
Yep, as father of two children under 11, I can honestly say the addiction is real - we had consoles but you was still playing mates in a room on the same TV and taking turns with the winner staying on.There is research emerging showing a detrimental impact on children's mental health from social media use and it doesn't take much of a leap to think it is the same for adults; especially those who are exposed to hundreds of thousands of anonymous opinions about themselves 24/7.

All fans want is for players to show that they care. Rashford body language screams I fcking don't care about the club, the teammates, the manager and the fans. So in theory he could be a man and take the abuse coming his way take it on the chin and man up roll his sleeves up and put the work in. But he is just not that into it. We need people who are. Sell him the sooner the better.I don't think it's fair to compare modern day players to players that played before the social media era. They would get abused at games. Once they went home, it stopped. That isn't the case for players any more.
I do agree that he likely doesn't have the mentality to be our top man. If you're playing badly, you have to accept that you will be criticised. There are many people that take it too far, but that's life.
I think thats harsh. He has played through various injuries for the club so I don’t think its a case of not caring to be honest. All fans want is for players to show that they care. It might be that he knows playing a victim will get him some credit from the fans and mask his shit performances. It does seem to work tbh. He has a strong PR team as well that spins simple "performance criticism" as a personal attack. This guy is ridiculously sensitive.
I agree with you mate. I'm fed up with Rashford and think it would be best for him to leave. All fans want is for players to show that they care. It comes with territory of no criticism generation, the only positive no criticism environment where those players were grown up. They basically cannot process criticism and everything is someone else's fault never their own. This guy is ridiculously sensitive.
The thing is, he could so easily just turn it off. Either delete the accounts entirely, or just have a social media team take care of it with some generic posts following games, like I suspect a lot of players already do. He could shut off his access to it completely. I can't think of any reason not to do that, if it really does affect him that much.It does feel like he's becoming mentally weaker but also none of us have any idea of the amount of abuse he may be getting. It's a dickhead move to personally message a footballer and abuse them. It was shitty to do to Maguire and if Rashford is getting similar then it's just as bad.
He's obviously not in a great headspace and may be spiralling seeking this kind of stuff out, but it doesn't make him a tosser or a dickhead or anything like that.
This is a bit reductive. You don't know how well or badly he responds to criticism from those that matter like manager, coaches, team-mates & family. But you'll drive yourself mad if you listen to 'criticism' from the general public. He probably gets some absolutely vile things in his inbox (likely less face to face because people are cowards). Whether he should be checking that is one thing but it doesn't make it right. All he's talking about here is abuse he's gotten. You don't know what specifically he's talking about. It comes with territory of no criticism generation, the only positive no criticism environment where those players were grown up. They basically cannot process criticism and everything is someone else's fault never their own.
Yeah he definitely should. For whatever reason he hasn't though which doesn't excuse any abuse he's seen. Sometimes it may be unavoidable (overhears a radio show, people in public or whatever)The thing is, he could so easily just turn it off. Either delete the accounts entirely, or just have a social media team take care of it with some generic posts following games, like I suspect a lot of players already do. Love a lazy generalisation. It comes with territory of no criticism generation, the only positive no criticism environment where those players were grown up. They basically cannot process criticism and everything is someone else's fault never their own.
I don't know if all ye replying are taking the piss, but if not then the post above mine was also my post.Already posted one post above.
I have no doubt he already has social media team taking care of it , while there is no excuse for the abuse and it should be dealt with appropriately it seems Rashford and his PR team tend to lean into it more whenever criticism against his performances ramps up .The thing is, he could so easily just turn it off. Either delete the accounts entirely, or just have a social media team take care of it with some generic posts following games, like I suspect a lot of players already do. 300k per week is also unimaginable for us common folk.To be fair, I'd say the level of scrutiny is unimaginable for us common folk. There's also no doubt in my mind that it does cross over into abuse a lot of the time too.
But in many ways its separate to the other issue, the other issue being that he's a an incredibly highly paid elite athlete at a massive club and most weeks he doesn't try. I personally don't think he doesn't try because he's not arsed, I think he just retreats into himself when things get tough, in other words he's scared. He's only human and we all react differently to different circumstances but it doesn't make it acceptable and I reckon we should sell him.
Absolutely, but I suppose the idea is that he gets paid largely for the scrutiny he'll come under and not the abuse he gets. That's an ideal world though and often there's a fine line between the two, it depends on his perception as well. I get the impression he might view a lot of justified criticism as abuse. At the moment he is his own worst enemy.300k per week is also unimaginable for us common folk.
Rashford could just leave and play elsewhere and still gets paid more than 99% of his countrymen.
Probably surrounded by yes men constantly telling him his shit performances is everyone else’s fault. He needs to keep off social media. You also have to question what the people around him her telling him about his performances and application.
A fan saying that a player is faking injuries is not abuse. Let's get some perspective here. Not sticking up for Goldbridge, he's a cretin.According to Partrid....eh Goldbridge the whole thing got triggered by a clip with an elderly united fan. I have now found the clip and if that is the case I understand it. Not only does she call him Rashford with a T in front but even worse she claims he wasnt injured and that he is faking injuries.
That is absolutely abuse and I can understand if Rashy doesnt want to take that. In fact we as a fanbase should call out these kind of terrible outbursts. Its enough our rivals hurl abuse at our players, we shouldnt.
Criticizing Rashford for his on field performances is absolutely fair in my opinion but insinuating that he is faking injuries or childish namecalling is disgusting behaviour.
I agee that this is poor behaviour that we as United fans should disagree with but she’s just random fan right? I’m surprised random tools are being given so much importance. Fans just like any set of people have idiots amongst them. Look Arsenals fan channels and others and how people behave. I’m guessing much worse happens at the grounds.According to Partrid....eh Goldbridge the whole thing got triggered by a clip with an elderly united fan. I can't wait for this tosser to feck off.
Getting abused is never ok,
He loves being the center of attention
