Marcus Rashford (Out) | Ornstein: United want to keep, will only consider substantial bids

Yeah, that's about the consensus (based on various sources).

Nobody actually knows the details of their contracts. But it seems very likely, let's say, that they are our best paid players - and that they make (even) more than Rashford (who's on 300k, thereabouts).

Not that surprising, though.

Pretty much on brand for United in recent times (but it bloody well needs to stop, and I suppose we can hope Jimbo and his lads understand this).

Unless they're willing to walk away from their contracts I don't see how we get them off the books next season. That said, I see more value in Casemiro and Varane than the consensus here that they're shit and should be sent to pasture. But there is no denying that their wages are excessive relative to their contributions on the pitch.

I'm being an absolute Captain Hindsight here obviously, but we'd have got €150m for him last summer and he's done the square root of feck all this season. We're about 12 months too late for the prime time.

We'll be doing extremely well to sell him for a third of that this summer.
I said in the Rashford thread last year before his contract was signed that we should think about selling him rather than giving him a huge contract!

I don't know why there's an obsession around here about selling Rashford to PSG. There hasn't been any noise on the french side for a long time, they already have a Mbappé replacement position-wise in Barcola, and Rashford doesn't seem to match Luis Enrique's tactics, with the latter having solidified its status and power at Paris these last few months.

I would be very surprised if it happened. If they sign a big name this summer, it probably won't be at Mbappé's position.

That's a very weird 3 people to lump together

Honestly thought he was going to say Joe Rogan.

The reporting of that interview has been so weird. The creeping nature of that faux intellectual high performance bollocks into everything is so shit.

I just watched the Overlap interview with Anthony Gordon, Rashford should be locked in a room with it on a loop, footballers have a general image of being as thick as three short planks, Gordon is the exact opposite of that, this young lad is going places if he keeps this up

Just make him watch our away game against newcastle. The worst individual performance ever in a united shirt and Gordon just showed him up brutally. Id swap them in a heartbeat.

Wait a min. PSG's solution to replace Mbappe who had 26 league goal in 27 games so far, is to go for a player who scored 7 league goals in 31 matches and may not even selected for the national team this summer?

All parties to win? Really?
He is a lot better than he is showing right now and everyone with a bit of football understanding knows this. I think he has been mentally worn down by the constant boom-bust cycles at United, his part in them and the flak he gets as a result. A new environment, different coaches and team mates could reignite him.

The best thing that can happen at this point is a manager coming in and freezing him out. The problem is when that happens he'll "respond" by putting in an odd shift and the cycle will never end. He's going to cause us huge problems over the coming seasons unless we sign someone at LW who will blow him out of the water statistically and consistently wise.

Ah so because of this and obviously anyone with any football knowledge knows this, we will be stacked with offers.

Rashford is an excellent player but he lacks the attitude to be at a club like United. Players can't simply switch off because the manager might be mean to his mate. Even at off form players must put a shift in.

I know this is tongue in cheek but football has a way of writing off people after a bad spell, look at Emery and how he was written off after a poor job at Arsenal. His contract could be problematic but he won't be short of offers especially if we accept anything between 60 and 70m.

Worth £30m for the publicity at least, football side of things...

Take the £30 and save the wage and the negativity. Be best for both club and player.

Clearly the time to sell, not sure he'd want to leave, though. And getting an acceptable fee with those wages would be pretty challenging.

Only CAF wrote Emery off. Not Aston Villa, not Villarreal, and definitely not Monchi. It is just like Ancelotti is written off after a poor job in Bayern and Napoli. If Ancelotti is always rated as all time great in CAF, why Utd not after his service when he was available before the Everton appointment?

The assumption PSG cannot afford to scout him or a television subscription so they have been completely unaware of how awful he is, really needs to stop. PSG are a top side, pushing for honours in the latter stages of the elite European competition. They're not some gullable old bird who we can try and flog the old banger in the forecourt to, hoping she doesn't notice the arse has fallen off, the steering wheel is cellotaped on and overlook the fact we've stuck a post-it note with 'Zero miles' and a smiley face over the dashboard.

It's laughable to be honest. He isn't in their league. They'd think twice about hiring him to work in the canteen.Yet every time he has a stinker - which is every single week, it's "Come on PSG, take him off our hands". People clearly don't think very much of PSG.

Allow us to dream, it is free

Great watch.

Jesus Christ youth is wasted on the young.

Wasn't he into the last 12 months of his contract when he signed a new one? So being realistic we were never getting 150 or thereabouts, no clubs paying that for someone they can get for free if they just wait a year, and once the contract was signed then no one was going to bid as clear he was staying.

Top clubs do sometimes sign players off the back of a poor season. Havertz going to Arsenal springs to mind. And we've seen PSG splurge money on silly transfers before.

Also, had the red card vs Barca not turned the game on it's head then we wouldn't be speaking about them in such glowing terms. They play in a weak league and they aren't even the best PSG side we've seen over the last 5 years.

50m and he's all yours Paris.

He's really bad, like so bad that nobody will be paying more than £30m as a "maybe he'll come good" punt. Even then I dunno who would want him on his ridiculous wages. I think we will hold out for a decent sum, and I can't think of a club mental enough to buy a washed up, lazy, entitled player for a reasonable amount. So we're stuck with him.

Surely we can get him doing some jobs around the club to get something for our money though? Our marketing department looks to need a bit of help for example.

His attitude and laziness is duly noted by other clubs, who would pay big money & wages to have this waster at their club?

PSG replaced Messi with Dembele and Lee Kang In and are doing better this season. Obviously Mbappe is at his peak but with the money freed up they could follow the same playbook and get Rashford to compete with a youngster (Barcola or someone new).

Well we spent a fair bit on Mount in the same situation so you never know, but 150 was pie in the sky but 100 might have been doable, Kane went for that kind of money

I've always liked him but the guy has to leave for his own good if he wants to get his shit together, feel less pressured and find form again

Is this the first time he's talked about this?

Here we go again. What's he even doing up on social media past midnight? He'll have training in the morning.

The truth hurts. Get found out and criticised repeatedly due to dire performances and he jumps on the abuse bandwagon. Of course Rashford has nothing to answer for.

Please get this guy out of the club. A loan move is the obvious answer for now. Remove the toxicity ahead of the new season!

The way Goldbridge and his channel has been after him has been a disgrace. You could feel he is mentally not focused. He has been treated like shit by certian big football channels and twitter handles.

All the nonsense about how he intentionally wants eth gone to how he is intentionally sabotaging the side to having a secret meeting with southgate so that he can replace eth. This is not constructive criticism but pure hate.

The sooner the better he is gone. Not only have his performances not been up to par this season but his whole mindset is totally wrong. It's not abuse to point this out. If the club is ever going to reach the heights it should, this kind of bullshit carry on needs to be totally eradicated.

It is ok to say you want a Rashford gone because he is not good enough or not committed to the team, but to result in falsehood, inuendos and slander is taking the piss. United stand and its likes just peddle falsehood because it sells. They should be embarrassed

I sat five seats down from someone at Wembley who abused him incessantly from the first whistle until he was subbed off. He literally had no other interest in the game, than to swear at him and berate him. It was genuinely a little bit scary to see a grown adult just spew venom at a player for his own team in front of kids the way he did.

There is this weird hatred for him. Nothing constructive about that.

Well that's insane, and totally unjustifiable. I want him to leave. I genuinely think it would be best for both him and the club. But I certainly don't think any sane person could defend this kind of conduct, nothing football related is ever serious enough to warrant this kind of ridiculousness.

Sure, but why it is always PSG,

Not Bayern(Muller replacement)
Not Liverpool(Salah replacement)
Not Chelsea(Hazard replacement)
Not Arsenal(Jesus replacement)
Not Real Madrid(Ronaldo/Bale replacement)
And not Inter or Juventus either

Why always PSG? There is absolutely nothing from PSG that they are interested in Rashford anymore this season. Is it because people think PSG sport director or Enrique is stupid?

We’re obviously not going to be selling to a domestic rival. Real Madrid have a surplus of left forwards who are better and younger - one of whom is going to be the player he could potentially replace at PSG. The Italian teams are unlikely to cough up the money needed for a permanent transfer, and pay his salary.

PSG have been heavily linked in the past and it’s been confirmed that his brother/agent was in strong talks with then last season. People are just making assumptions here, nobody is claiming to be a financial director who is privy to who will be interested in Rashford.

I believe this stance needs bit of a changing to be honest especially when we are actually willing sellers , primary objective should be to get the best fees for United .
