I was at the game so I gave him special focus.
It was genuinely one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen from someone in a Man Utd shirt. There's not enough words to describe how disappointing it was. Insipid, listless, pathetic, embarrassing. He looked like he was genuinely phoning it in. It was laughable at the end him being on the floor injured, refusing to be subbed, then 'pulling up' when they were through on goal.
He was roundly booed by the fans in the stadium, and Amad was cheered on. I think it's a seminal point in his career, and probably the beginning of the end of his time at United.
Don't know what else to say really, a clean break is best for both parties. Amad did more in the 4-5 mins before regular time than Rashford did in the 90 mins prior.
The off the ball movement and effort between him and Garnacho is night and day. Garnacho was constantly making runs, coming inside, trying to find something to hurt the opposition. Rashford just wanted everything to feet and didn't make any off the ball movements in behind. It's why all of our decent attacking play came down Garnacho's side.
The other thing is - if I can see as a fan how poor and ineffective Rashford is, surely EtH can? Why persist with him? Especially if we have Antony (who's at least a trier) and Amad on the bench?
We're paying £350k for league 2 performances. That, on top of how unprofessional he's been lately (the Dublin incident, the constant PR shite) - time to move on from him.
