It was up in 2019 iirc
It was renewed during the 18/19 season.
Maybe i'm misremembering but although i think he did well that season for goals his general play that year was the subject of a lot of criticism, especially towards the end of the year? I think there was lots of arguments about how he wasn't as good as the season before (19/20) and how he must be injured because something just seemed wrong.
You're not misremembering. He had some poor performances in 20/21 but he still kept scoring and was the difference maker in a lot of games, which was important in a season where Martial decided to stop scoring and Cavani declared himself unfit on multiple occasions.

That's what i think. Anywhere else on the pitch the referee blows and more likely than not gives a yellow to the defender if not both.

Therefore it's a penalty. You can't say it's allowed in the penalty box and nowhere else
Agreed. Wouldn't like it to go against us but those are the rules, they clearly played the man and not the ball.

The worst thing about Rashford isn't how bad he is, or how lazy, cowardly or how much he moans and complains.

It's the fact that he's somehow immune from being dropped. I've never seen such an ineffective player play every game for his club. It's like the manager doesn't see the player, just his marketing team.

Unfortunately this is what happens when you spend money on big name players rather than building a squad of depth and quality to keep everybody on their toes. Pep is not the only reason City succeed or that we used to. It was that your standards drop and there is someone else ready to step into your shoes. The big wages on advertising dreams have to stop.

Neither defender commits a foul. The one on the right puts his body between Rashford and the ball. No foul. The one on the other side challenges Rashford for the ball, shoulder to shoulder. Again, no foul.
No he doesnt. He is nowhere near it and he knows it. Its not fkn bumper cars. You have to be going for the ball. Lets say the ball is nowhere near two players standing next to each other. Can one just yeet the fk out of him if its only a shoulder barge? No. Football is a contact sport but there is levels and fairness to it. The defender was only out to take out Rashford. He was not sheparding the ball or running alongside him. He just charges right at him.

You know he was dropped earlier in the season, right? Who should be taking his place in the team now?

What a load of blabber and collection of clichés... Rashford's PR machine is so uninspiring.

"But if you ever question my commitment to Man United, that’s when I have to speak up" - Marcus Rashford

:lol::lol::lol:

The player who never tracks back and puts on a half arsed press thinks we are questioning his commitment!

i see he is still getting good use out of his PR team. Gotta be money well spent for him at this point.

I find it very hard to dislike him. Guy is United as United gets.

Yes, he has been inconsistent, and has been out of form for a minute. I don’t have an issue with him behind benched or ever sold, I just can’t understand the deeply rooted dislike some seem to have for a guy that’s United through and through.

That statement will upset a good few supporters on here I’d imagine. He needs to back up his talk with performances, that’s the main thing.

I'd love to sit down with him and point out every instance of him ambling about in a match (we'd be there for a few weeks...) and ask him about his commitment in those moments. I'd love to know what he would say, or does he even know how to speak without his PR team writing scripts for him.

People fall prey to media noise, they end up believing nonsense on social media and hate the character rather than the actual person that none of us know.

Something his manager and staff should be doing, but evidently don't - because it's apparent in every single game.

Its because you are not doing your talking on the pitch Marcus, that invokes the need to do your talking in a newspaper, when it should be the other way around.

Hopefully the crowd get behind him, he clearly needs support.

If only he put the same effort into football that his PR boys do to his puff pieces

Awful dickhead. One of the worst we've ever had at the club.

"Ignore your lying eyes because my crisis PR is coming in hot"

Start with the FA cup final.

I'm going to speak for me but I presume most people are the same. I don't know what the media perception of him is, I don't read papers or watch the studio analysis and barely listen to the commentary.

I just watch football. Rashford doesn't try hard enough, he pulls out of tackles and rarely challenges for headers. He doesn't put his body, or his lungs, on the line.
It's as simple as that. If he tried harder nobody would be questioning his character. Twitter statements won't change that perception, only trying on the pitch will.

It feels like he's trying to convince himself more than the readers that he cares about playing, and playing for the club. In my opinion, that's neither propaganda nor sincerity, but self reinforcement from a man going through an existential crisis about what next, given that he's already kinda achieved most of his childhood dreams.

He's a good lad, but I feel he needs motivation more than tactical instructions. A mentor more than a manager, purpose more than a game plan. Someone who can help him find a spark within himself, get him fired up for goals in life. EtH doesn't have the charisma for that.

I hope either the self-reinforcement works, or he finds a mentor. Otherwise, it looks like he's going to be done with the game by 30, much like @golden_blunder keeps saying.

This kind of PR from Rashford's team is a more tired trick than Antony's left footed cut back.

It's all PR until he starts performing. He's the highest earner at the club and that should result in a higher expectancy, he can't have it both ways.

I love the guy and I believe everything he says in this piece but the fact he can put all that down on the paper yet not even remotely acknowledge that he has been beyond awful this season is troubling.

Came here to mention the latter part, I can't remember who off the top of my head she was responsible for but this coming out straight after a win is not surprising at all.

He did't write any of that mate.

I love that we live in a time where what you say is more important that what you actually do. All about saying the right thing.

You can tell us how much you care until the cows come home but you can't hide on the pitch. When you put in more of a shift for a few games after your bollocking for going on a bender in Ireland and then revert back to being lazy, we can see it. You can't hide on the pitch. When your body language is awful and you aren't putting in the same effort as your teammates its pretty obvious.

And yes, when you are performing poorly on the pitch your personal life will be scrutinised to find out why. United sell engagement and you are the highest profile player at the club. The club says that and your salary says that. You are also held to higher standards as one of the senior players that is on absolutely obscene money.

But no, tell us how much you care and don't worry yourself about showing us that on the pitch.

I remember coming home and telling my family, “We need to get this under control right now. I need to find a way to take the fan part out of me, or else I’m going to get sent off every game.”

Good News Marcus. You don't play like a fan anymore.

Form will return, everything will be okay, but just stop. You're not Eric Cantona, ffs.

These cringe footballers trying to be philosophers now.
