It is pretty obvious that if a player is not putting the hard yards in on the training pitch then Erik is not going to pick him and Sancho is the example so he must be doing it there.If he wants to play on the field, maybe he can be bothered to run and make a second effort off the ball even just once the entire game. This isn't a pick up league after work where you can give as much effort as you feel like. He was genuinely embarrassing out there today both in his effort and his quality. You could find thousands of average sunday league players who could defend better than he does and I genuinely mean that.
Him scoring 30 goals last season is the outlier in his last 3-4 years, the norm has been laziness, poor quality on the ball, inconsistent finishing, and a downright awful demeanor.
If you can find a Sunday league player that has the quality to play at the highest level in the Premier league then give Erik a call as it will save us a fortune.
