Marcos Rojo | Manchester United Player Pending Medical

Yep. I warned about that. In my first post in the topic about him, i did the perfect description of Rojo for us. Starts with a game or a series of games, that he plays very well and in impressive fashion, only to do a mistake like two stupid challenges and get sent off. People get restless in the stands and turn on Rojo. He gets replaced because of his suspension and our defence struggles or isn´t as stable. He come backs and plays spectaculary for 5 or 6 games until he fecks up again with stupid straight red challenge or because he argued vehemently with the ref. Rinse and repeat. Van Gaal should work on that asap.

When does he display poor discipline?

The reason I ask is because Louis van Gaal will plan on getting hold of that football and keeping it, most of Rojo's time will be spent on the ball but he will be called into action likely when we get hit on a counter attack.

What is he like defending when hit on the counter attack?

I hope rojo will not be our only signing

Basically this. If we sign him to reinforce the defence and also strengthen further forward with a signing like Vidal or di maria (I know they're totally different players but you know what I mean) that's fine...the way things are looking he's gonna the biggest signing we make from here on in which is somewhat underwhelming. That's not rojos fault of course and if we do sign him I'm sure we'll all back him to the hilt, I'm not gonna be doing cartwheels if we sign him and de Jong though so I understand some of the frustration being vented

He´s not like Pepe. Pepe can be a nasty individual. Rojo would never do some of Pepe´s fouls or play act like him. He´s a complete nutter and hardman. He´s more like Jaap Stam. A walking time bomb. I´ve seen a fair share of opponents being really intimidated by him.
I'd say that's quite encouraging. We need someone who can intimidate opponents now that Vida is gone. The discipline let's hope LVG can handle.

No specific circunstancies. Sometimes is out of the blue.

Since he is very quick with good pace, he is a good defender to have around in counter attack situations.

No doubt he'll be a starter. Question is whether he'll displace Smalling, Jones or Blackett. atm my money is on Smalling
Blackett, obviously. That's the reason we signed him; to play at LCB.

When Evans is fit Jones would be the next to go to the bench.

Would you like him to supply you with video evidence? He's offering an opinion on an incoming player based on personal observation. We may not like to hear it, and hopefully he's wrong, but it's perfectly legit.
Pipe down. I Asked the question, he handled it well. It's okay to be skeptical of opinion around here, especially when he earlier answered it with two words.

I can't work Jones and Smalling out. They both have games now and again where you think they are potentially top class and the future, but then the next game they look like they should be playing for mid table PL teams. There's no middle ground with them, Evans is superior to both but is always fecking injured.

I know what you mean, but .

Think it'll be Blackett. In times of disarray, it's best to stick with Prem experience. Smalling hasn't donevmuch wrong under LVG I think.

Pretty sure it'll be Blackett and Evans will come back central.

Jones/Smalling fighting for the remaining place.

Blackett has gotten into the team on the back of him being a left footer on that side pretty much and able to cover out wide. Vermaelen and Rojo we want to buy for that reason as well.

I think if Smalling/Jones were out and not Evans then Keane would have started vs Swansea.

Don't think blackett is ready to be a starter yet anyway, so being backup or going on loan should do him good.

Smalling and Evans are prone to making two or three dangerous mistakes a game, Jones less so though he's not quite as refined as Evans.

I'm still in the Evans-Jones camp.

Jones has the potential to be very, very
good. Evans was our best defender from 2011-2013 but has lost his way abit.

I guess bringing him in could only be a positive in our chase for Di Maria? Wouldn't matter that much but him being here and both being Argentinian I guess would help that tiny bit.

I'm hoping with Carrick back and Herrera finding some form so a solid two in front of them we will have a more consistent unit and they will look good.

Been out for a while, someone some up why it's a done dealio?

How much of him have you seen to call him that? @Sly rates him highly and he is a Sporting fan who watches them every week. Pretty sure you are talking out of your arse here in his assessment.
Also a Sporting fan and I watch them too, but I don't rate Rojo very high. I've said it before, but again: he's very reckless, makes out of control tackles too often, loses his cool in important matches and often gets sent off in big games too.

Weren´t you the one on the newbies who said that Fernando had more technic than William Carvalho? If you were, you are as much as a Sporting fan as Manuel Serrão

I sometimes feel some of you just love the opportunity to overreact and make pointless one liners.

Why not wait and see what happens? By the sounds of it this one is moving along and should be done by the end of the week.
