Happy with this. He might not be a world beater or anything, but him being a solid defender, and actually being fit and versatile so that he can play wing back is exactly what was needed. If you want to clutch at straws for other positives, then the combination of Nani (our only attacking winger bar Januzaj) being sent away on loan and Rojo being Argentinian can only be a good sign for Di Maria.

I approve of these clearances during match time, as well as Rabonas out of the box.

I will admit to not seeing much of this guy, who doesn't seem to be lighting up this forum with excitement. How does he compare to what we have in terms of Evans, Smalling and Jones? Is this supposed to be a first teamer or more of one for rotating in and out of the team?
