There is no way we do not sign this guy. We are not that incompetent.
Inb4 someone quotes this with a picture of Ed Woodward. Not me though because I don't want to be thread-banned.

That's sounds reasonable enough for me.Nothing has changed. The transfer can't happen until the heat/anger/emotion that the Doyen/Sporting row created has gone. The Sporting management don't want to lose face. The player apologises, it's part of reducing the tension.
Whether we do the deal or not is down to us and Sporting. This is just the player removing one of the emotional obstacles.
So we would be talking to him without sporting having agreed terms with us... (I.e. illegally tapping him up)Tis obvious that we have told him to do this, as we don't consider what he did very professional.
Or maybe we didn't want to pay more than the quoted 16M for him because we don't think he's worth more and moved on to another target.
I concur. This could all be a bit of spin doctoring so that his leaving will seem to be at least to some degree on Sporting's terms. I still reckon he'll be a United player. Gut feeling.
Ed boasts about the big signings he is going to make and then signs someone I have never heard of. That would figure. If that another target is Rudinger we are making a mistake
Not him directly, but I'm sure we are in touch with his agent. So we would be talking to him without sporting having agreed terms with us... (I.e. illegally tapping him up)
Wouldn't it be rather hypocritical of us under those circumstances to be lecturing on him being unprofessional
Maybe we consider Benatia for 29M a better deal than Rojo for 17M or even more. I do.If that another target is Rudinger we are making a mistake
But Rüdiger is 6' 3.2". I think you are just being spoiled on that one.Ed boasts about the big signings he is going to make and then signs someone I have never heard of. That would figure.

Don't worry lads I played in a 3 man defence back in 4th year, time to dig out and dust off the old copa mundials.
Any buy out clause we have to wait to expire so we can waste even more moneyYay! We got a signing.
Any third party ownership complications?
Dodgy knee?

No we're signing goin4glory.So is this lad signing?
24mWe're probably going to meet his £30m release clause knowing us.
Honestly you people are dim. He didn't say anything that suggests he'll be staying. And how some people can infer from that that he's rejected us to stay at Sporting is just bizarre.
Of course he's going to say he loves his team mates and the fans and say he'll be returning to training, no point doing an interview apology otherwise.
He desperately wants the move, obviously, otherwise he wouldn't be in a situation where he has to apologise in the first place. He's trying to smooth things over so the deal can go through.
Wouldn't like to have him in our squad
I saw all the Argentina's game at World cup and in the left back position he's not that good
At least he'll be a cover for Shaw, but this difficulty only for a second left back, and 20M... it's just a lack of time and a waste of money
He appeared very weak technically in Brazil this summer... Don't like him and I can't see him better than Blind as a utility man on left position
This is good to hear. How is his distribution from the back mate? You know that he's not primarly a left back, do you? He's a central defender, didn't start as a left back at all last year.
now being reported that ando is going the other way with nani. not sure how true like all other reports.
I certainly can't see Nani going the other way. If we have to pay £5m in wages then we might as well up the offer by £5m and sell Nani to some unsuspecting club for £10m.
A Nani loan where we pay full money makes no economic sense.
Getting rid of Anderson would be great news though. Free transfer.

What's an "unsuspecting" club? Nobody will pay £10 million for him if they've bothered watching him for the last two years.
