So when it seems that he we were signing him, some ppl.were moaning about him not being good enough.
now that he seems to be staying at sporting, ppl moan because we fail to sign him.....
what a bloody farce...

It´s like this everywhere. If you read our forum, some suffer from short memory and are apologizing him already.

Interesting. So what, we pulled the plug or it was just a nothing story and this guy got too exited? I wasn’t particularly fallowing this saga.

 We're hopeless. He might still come but ffs, he handed in a transfer request, refused to train, fell out with the owner and we still can't sign him. You have to laugh.

There might be the possibility that United didn´t do any approach at all and since no club step forward after those fake United reps/Doyen reps, the little rat wants to remain at the club now and play in the Champions League. This whole sage is so confusing. Even for me.

No there were some translated quotes saying that he's leaving and he thanked Sporting for the opportunity etc.

No there weren't. The exact quotes:

I thank Sporting and everyone who works at the club; when my career wasn't in the best moment, Sporting gave me the opportunity in a big European club...

That makes as much sense as a '...so I'm glad to stay' as it does a '...but I'm off to Manchester' sentance.

From Hummels to Benatia to Rojo to Rüdiger anyone? I'm quite capable of playing CB as well and a United fan. Wouldnt hold it against Woodie if he failed to sign me though thb.

I’m thinking the same thing, it is a possibility we never wanted him and it all messed up. This must be more complicated than what we see in the papers…

Nothing has changed. The transfer can't happen until the heat/anger/emotion that the Doyen/Sporting row created has gone. The Sporting management don't want to lose face. The player apologises, it's part of reducing the tension.

Whether we do the deal or not is down to us and Sporting. This is just the player removing one of the emotional obstacles.

News of the assault[on Sporting Pres] are false. I love the club, the fans and my teammates. My career depends on Sporting."

Dafuq? I am genuinely befuddled. Hands in a transfer request and a few days later comes out with this? Hmm is he going to get a new contract or something? Would explain it or like Sly stated we were never interested and it is the three stooges all over again with Doyen masquerading as United.

Just shows how far we are slipping, Rojo would just be one of those could be good, could be crap signings, nothing more.

Tbh I don't care either way, it's proven first teamers we need.

It's so funny how we can make a saga out of a player who makes a transfer request and refuses to train. I give up.

Well, if we didn't want him, who the hell DID we want in this transfer window? Except the two players we got and Vermaelen, all we hear about other players liked with us is that we're NOT interested....

There is no proof that United did an approach at all. But there is proof that Nélio Lucas the Doyen stooge sent a fake United rep to pressure us to negotiate the player. I mantain my opinion that there will be closure in the last transfer days.

He said that he was happy at the club and that he loved Sporting. Whether that is enough for him to stay at the club, i don´t know

Seems like the standard quotes from someone who wants to leave but wants to have a career at his current club should the deal not be finalized.

BBC did confirm a bid though, they're by far the most reliable source around.

Yep. I know you guys do love a good ol Woody bashing but be patient. There are still plenty of days till the market closes.

They did? Do they have insiders at Sporting´s board? Because our President didn´t confirm anything besides the Doyen fake United reps.

The counter story to that is the BBC story that talked about us "still negotiating" and confirming to Manchester reporters that we "like" Rojo. Doyen may have jumped the gun but I do think we are somewhere around. I think the reason the original Sporting club statement didn't mention United by name was to keep the door open to a direct approach (from us or another club).

Well I’m struggling to find any logic in our moves so don’t ask me. It’s just a possibility that we never approached him, as Sly said.

Didn't LVG confirm we were interested though or did i just imagine that?

Dunno mate. That´s an United issue. I don´t follow your club as close as you guys

Tis obvious that we have told him to do this, as we don't consider what he did very professional.

Might be Jo. It´s all speculation but it would make sense
