Marcos Rojo | Manchester United Player Pending Medical

He isn´t injury prone at all. Some injuries were in pre season which isn´t something unusual and that arm injury was due to a very unlucky play where he fell awkwardly.

I may be off here but Rojo just seems like someone who needs a commanding presence alongside for him to flourish. He has the talent but doesn't seem like a leader who can organize and run a defense.

Yeah you are off. He has been capable of leading and commanding a defence. United is a different level and enviroment but at Sporting he could do that.

I don't know if this was a one off performance, but his reading of the game, pace and distribution all seem excellent against Porto.

Is it normal in Portugal for a player to do an interview/press conference talking about leaving?

I'm struggling to think of it ever happening over here.

It´s kinda like a PR move. It isn´t frequent but it can happens from time to time. Also our club channel is very recent, so the President is probably using this a little bit as propaganda and to "save our face".

Well that's good news then. All our current defenders are injury prone and I always feel that one of the most important things for defenders is for them to stay fit so they can actually pick up form and form an understanding with their partner. He might not be much better then what we have, or better at all (genuinely don't know), but him just being fit always will make him stand out and become an important player. Hopefully.

It seems Sporting generally sign young players they could move for a profit. I do not think they will have much interest bringing in someone like Nani.

Does the deal depend on Nani moving?

How? This Nani link is an invention from english media who probably doesn´t know our limitations wage wise. Nani to Sporting is virtually impossible unless United pays 75% of the wage. I wouldn´t give it importance.

We would be interested in having Nani. The problem is financial. We just can´t afford him without United paying a big percentage of his wage.

Do the Sporting supporters hate the fact that the club use third party ownership in order to fund transfers?

A loan would make sense if LVG sees no future for Nani at United and their is no one willing to buy him. We pay the wages as a sweetener for the Rojo deal and if he has a good season his value goes up and we can sell him next summer.

The new club leadership are getting the club out of the third party deals. This is a hangover from the old regime.

Used* mate. I think those days are over with the new President. Some supporters embraced the idea because they just care about winning matches but they eventually ended up realizing that in financial terms the results were atrocious. Was always against it. I prefer that the club lives within their means and promotes youth team players. Not against transfers but just the ones where we have the rights of the player integrally.

Lets see if i can give the exclusive for Red cafe forum. The Rojo interview is about to start. He is going to talk about what he expects from the future

Nani is our 2nd best winger after Januzaj. If we're not signing at least one winger we shouldn't be letting him go.

I don't get this Nani thing, the fecker has done nothing for years. He's become stale at the club and needs shipping out.

Great because feck third party ownership

He's our only winger apart from januzaj who is skilful and actually an attacking player. I won't care if we get rid but we need a player like him. A fit and on form nani would actually be great for us which is why people still have hope.

What he said was pretty straight forward.

It made sense, it was just a weird comparison. Why would Sporting care that he says an apology? With Suarez's transfer to Barcelona it made sense to issue an apology, in this case it's a completely different scenario and I don't see how an apology would swing it one way or another.

Strikes me as a WC buy. The very worst idea, historically speaking. Sounds like most Sporting fans are utterly thrilled to be getting the kind of money we're talking, 6 months ago wouldn't have expected it.

More blind, panic buying from United after they fail at the real targets.

Still, has more experience than Blackett, so there's that.
