He must be the best passing natural defender we have. Not sure what some people are saying about him not knowing how to pass. Okay so he doesn't do David Luiz/Bonucci passes, then again, who else does?

The fact that he has the worst passing accuracy from any of our players might be a reason why people think he can't pass

For a second choice CB he is playing well and making the most of his opportunity. Hope he keeps improving as I don't think Jones will.

well important thing for me is that he's playing with his head up and see these between the lines passes, no need for hollywood passes, we have three midfielders capable of great passes already just get the through ball to one of the and they will get us in a good position

Rojo-Bailly is the CB pairing for the future IMO. I think he's better than Smalling.

He played well today although was rarely tested. I'm not a huge fan of his but he's well recently, he's still only young and perhaps might improve under Jose although the alternative is we'll receive a decent enough fee once he is moved on.

Glad someone agrees. On paper, this is our strongest pairing. Smalling and Jones should be sold in my eyes but personally I hope we buy someone like Van Dijk or Fonte.

I don't even remember him making a single accurate pass in the first half.

Is he the only true LCB that we have? He brings a nice balance playing there and good on him tbh.
He has taken a lot of abuse (and tbh, a lot of it was fair cos he was trash as LB). But then he looks more comfy playing LCB.

Some stats are misleading. At the end of the day, he's still a better passer than Smalling, Jones, Shaw and Darmian. Besides, he doesn't give the ball away in dangerous positions. I'd rather have him take risks to help us build from the back than LVG-esque zombie 'safe' passing.

His passing wasn't so good against Arsenal but he he a solid and relatively comfortable game

Jose sees him as a leftback. So he won't be a long term centre half. He's pretty poor at left back. So utility squad player will be his role. I really see us buying a true leader of a defender in the near future.
Both him and Jones were very good today. Nice to see our team not looking like conceding every time to other team attacks

Doing well but far too early to be suggesting he's for the long term. He's got a lot to do to repair a shoddy start to his Unuted career but he's making progress.

Not in my opinion he wasn't. He's looked an accident waiting to happen until the last few weeks.

Actually in 14/15 he was good. He was one of our more consistent players. It's just that his form in 15/16 makes most people forget that. Not surprising though.

I have to give him credit, behind bailly he's probably our second best CB.

Jones needs binning ASAP And Smalling has always been overrated.

I'm interested in seeing how rojo - bailly could do.

He's doing well just now but for second best centre back he has a long way to go to get that title and s lot to prove imo

I'd like to see Rojo - Bailly get a long solid run in the CB spots, but ideally we'd still sign another top class CB in the summer. Rojo has proven that he has no qualms about a squad role and I think he can still get about 30 combined starts/subs per year especially with Bailly's AFCON duties.

Of course, the ultimate scenario probably is for him to become Sergio Ramos 2.0. Not only are we sorted for the next 5-6 years at the back but it'll save the club a lot of money too.

This place is so bizarre. A month ago people wanted Rojo gone, he was crap and not United standard. Now they want him to be paired with Bailly because he's better than Smalling. So incredibly reactionary.

Bruce, Pallister, Stam, Johnson, Berg, Rio, Silvestre, Brown, Vidic, even David fecking May....

Yet, a lot of you think he's "doing well"

I chuckle at ignorance

I don't know who you're referring to, because I see the same people who caped for Rojo a few months ago caping for him now. You know, now that he finally got his chance?

Anyone will look bad compared to Stam, and how many of these players looked good in their first two seasons under the greatest PL manager ever?

Well, Bruce usually had drink on him and Pallister was a fat feck.....And guess what? They were our best centre back partnership.

And before you bring Rooney into it, both of them brought it onto the pitch!

But yeah, Rojo boots the ball clear, at every opportunity and styles his hair. #Warrior

They had the benefit of playing for the best PL manager of all time, during his mental prime. It certainly didn't help that Rojo started his career under a manager who didn't know how to navigate the PL. Look. No one's saying Rojo is special, just giving him his fair due for a solid showing in all of his games thus far this season.

That's the problem with the Caf these days, you either have to be a 100% homer, or a 100% cynic. There are a lot of gray areas when judging players.

Well, to put your mind at ease, there are no grey areas with me.

For example, Rooney is a cock, Pogba needs to show more, Carrick is great and Rojo is cack

And I've seen enough of Rojo, long before he joined us, to form an opinion.

I'm obviously not having a go at you here but, it does sting me some what that out fans are quite happy to accept the likes of his mediocrity

He's actually a lot like Brown. Similar players those two.

That's an intense mindset to have, but go ahead and do you.

I can see these two getting a run of whilst Bailly is out. I have always thought both him and jones to lack a bit of nounce. However, they are aggressive and more direct in their passing. They are both reasonably quick.

I am pleased he's doing well. For himself personally but also, it free's up Daley Blind to alternate with carrick at the base of the midfield and allows Herrera and Pogba to do their thing.
