Marco Verratti

I can't see Barca or Juve paying what PSG would rightly demand. Unless, there's a clause no one knows about.

I think Marco Verratti is an exceptional player good enough for any team in the world, easy as that. On top of his obvious abilities, he has fire and drive as well - he doesn't switch off, never lacks passion during a game.
Would love to see him at Man Utd, but if not, then I hope he goes to Real Madrid or Barcelona - somewhere everyone can see him during the whole season, be it Champions League or in the league.

He is better than Juventus, he has already played too long in a piss-poor league consisting of one team competing against itself and maybe a surprise contender.

Yeah not really, he was a juve supporter as a kid, kinda(more like juve were his second team, after pescara). Now, he wants to win CL. Were do you think he'd rather go, barcelona with Messi and Neymar or elsewhere? You could match barca's offer, he'd still go there, because that's by far his best chance at CL
I don't know, the team who won 3-0 on agg in the CL semi or the team who lost 3-0 on agg?

Di marzio saying this-
On the morning of PSG meetings in Milan, the one between Antero and Donato Di Campli, agent of Marco Verratti, surely steals the scene. The middle class midfielder '92 has in fact reiterated the will to change air and listen to the offers (Barcelona on all). PSG, however, would not want to sell it and, in fact, would like to renew it again. But in this regard, it has not even begun to discuss why the issue does not concern the money but the will of the boy, in search of new stimuli. Now the French will want to talk to the same player to see if his will really is that and so in the coming days there will be this new meeting in which Verratti will also say his. In short, the meeting between PSG and Verratti entourage certainly did not end as he would have hoped for the Paris club.

Basically his will ois to leave and most probably to barcelona. He wants a new challenge.
I hope we are interested, but i think he will want barcelona as the first option. One of the few players who i would want ahead of fabinho.

Great player for sure, and I'd love to see him playing for United, but I really don't think he's right for us under Mourinho, at least at the prices being talked about. Jose has such specific gameplans and rather like LVG, a player's ability to execute that gameplan is arguably more important than their individual talent. For example, there's no way we'd drop Pogba for him, and I doubt Jose would play him in place of someone more physically dominant such as Fabinho, so it's most likely Herrera who would be sacrificed. I think in terms of ability on the ball Veratti is a notch above Herrera, but in all other aspects I rate Herrera just as highly, and don't think Veratti would make much difference to us under Jose in place of dear Ander. €100m gets you the absolute cream of wingers, imagine having a replacement for Lindgard or Martial who'd get an extra 15 goals a season for us over them.

Veratti is Mourinho's 'surprise'. That's why we haven't signed Fabinho yet.

Play in different positions, unless of course Herrera is to go CDM. I don't see how one would affect the other tbh. Highly doubt we can get Verratti, it has Barca written all over it.. but if we did get him, WOW.

Arsenal have set aside mega money for Mbappe. They will fail to land him. They will use that budget for Veratti instead.

The team who won 2 years ago and has two of the three best players in the world, or the team that got smashed in the last two finals they played?

Make no mistake, Atletico and Juve are still not on the same level as barcelona in that regard

2 of the best 3? That's very debatable.

Anyway, if winning the CL is his biggest target, he should be angling for a move to Real.

All reports yesterday morning were saying Juve was where he wanted to go. Its only here i see people convinced its barca.

He is a juve fan isnt he? - I guess going to play for your boyhood club and a return to your homeland (plus being closer to friends and family) must have a lot of appeal... that said his style seems well suited to Barca who I would guess can pay highter wages and would be seen as more prestigious.

I know he's Italian but why would a player who has his pick of clubs want to play in Italy

With his injury record he'll fit right in at Arsenal.

Actually it was just the 15/16 season when he was injury stricken and missed a lot of time (amassed as much as 1700 minutes). Last season it was over 3200 minutes, 14/15 3600, 13/14 3000, 12/13 2600 (and it was his first season at PSG).

Why will he sign for Arsenal even if they make bid?

Arsenal are short on midfielders obv....

And doesn't Wenger come out with something like "the players are ready for a title challenge" every season - maybe they're ready this year ;)

Before all this Barca talk, did he actually say he wants to leave PSG this summer?

He didn't say himself but his agent kept repeating Verratti would have to leave PSG if things don't improve.

He wants to leave the club for sure but he's under contract.

If he's willing to move, Barça will be ready to spend part of next season's transfer budget to get him if necessary. They'd be the best team in the world again with him + a rightback. He's exactly what they need.

If Veratti is available, the Griezmann budget should go on him. Let Barca have Herrera if need be (for a decent wedge). He is the dream partner for Pogba. Scholes/Keane mark 2.

Still not sold on Pogba playing in a 2 man central midfield. He needs to play as a #10/furthest forward in a 3 man midfield with two players i.e. Herrera and Verrati behind him to support the defense.

Literally the opposite of everything you have written is true.

I'm feeling more and more like he'll end up at Juve. I can't see PSG selling Barca one of their best players after the recent history between the two clubs. PSG cant seem to get very far into the Champions League and Monaco have taken the league away from them. With Juve's progress to a couple of Champions League finals and their dominance of the league, they look more attractive than they used to.

Juve simply DO. NOT. have the cash for a deal like this... not unless they sell Dybala for a massive fee... which should be borne in mind...

The Italian midfielder met Antero Henrique and confirmed to him that he wanted to leave the PSG. But Nasser al-Khelaïfi opposes it formally.

The interview will not have lasted long. A few minutes, ten at most. Marco Verratti met mid-week Antero Henrique at the Peninsula, a palace of the VIII arrondissement where the new Parisian sports director has established his quarters. Originally, this rendezvous, desired by the Portuguese leader, was intended to allow the two men to get to know each other. This is a step that Henrique has carried out in recent days with the other Parisians still in the capital. The 24-year-old Italian midfielder took the opportunity to tell Patrick Kluivert's successor that he wanted to leave the PSG this summer.

It would be easily the best signing of the summer. Can't see him coming here tho.

Most likely he will end up playing for Barcelona :(

Isn't he very injury prone? Would not risk paying that much for him, caf blinded by desire for glamour.
