If PSG do want Neymar they need about £70 million to comply with FFP......

I thought they can just give Neymar the money to buy himself out making the transaction avoid FFP completely.

No it's more complicated than that, if you just do that the €222m will 100% count for FFP.

Why do you think that?
CM is Arsenal's biggest weakness right now with Cazorla looking likely to miss another season. Ramsey isn't good enough. Oxlade Chamberlain wants to play there and he is not good enough either. Veratti is arguably world class. He is good enough and looks a natural Cazorla replacement.

Arsenal has a transfer war chest. Veratti has the French connection. PSG are on good terms with Arsenal. If Veratti wants to go, and I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that he would consider the PL, then why not Arsenal?

Because that would be a step down for him?

Because he could literally go to any club he wants, maybe some that would pay more or that are in the champs league. Arsenal are a step down from psg at this stage.

I'd imagine he'd want to play champions league. I know Pogba joined us when we didn't have it, but at least there was an emotional tie to us. I cannot see him even contemplating Arsenal to be honest.

I thought your previous post was some kind of private joke, but this is funny as feck :lol::lol:

Wouldn't part with Martial for any player. Money or nothing.

Verratti-Herrra-Pogba be the best midfield in the world.

He's going to play in the Europa League?

So just pay it per year. 44.4m per season over a 5 year deal = 222m.

Doing it that way means they comply with ffp.
You can't pay in installments if you trigger the release clause.
It doesn't matter, even if you pay in one chunk you can still amortize it over 4 or 5 years in your accounts.

this begins to look more likely than the: Utd - we'll pay £47.999m; Inter - no, we want £48m bollox

Of course I don't know the true details, but here's my impression:

United: We offer you guys 60/35m Euro for Morata/Perisic
Real Madrid/Inter: We're looking for 80/55m Euro
United: OK, how about 65/40
RM/I: Hmmm, let's say 80/55.
United: Ah, I see. We'll offer 70/45 then.
RM/I: We were thinking more like 80/55.
United: So let's meet half way at 75/50, that should be a good compromise.
RM/I: You know, 80/55 sounds better to us.
United: Gentlemen, this does not fall under any definition of the word "negotiations". We're out!

is this a serious thread? No way we're signing Veratti. He'd cost over £100m and PSG have no need to sell, in case people haven't paid attention, they are very much a buying club.

Verrati is a very good player

But for a midfielder he is too short for Jose, he wont buy him.

This is a myth. Modric, Makelele, Fabregas, Herrera etc. are hardly giants. If Veratti was available, Jose would be all over him. Unfortunately, he isn't available at any price.

excelent

So which of these did jose actually buy to quell this myth?

That's irrelevant, he used them which is the main point. He could have just as easily bought a big midfielder at all those clubs to replace them. He was also the one that brought Fabregas to Chelsea, did he not?

So cesc and Modric but they are not defensive or holding midfielders, we already have Pogs and Herrera and he uses Fellaini and some of the kids which are actually defenders. Its not the type of player he is looking for.

Oh and this was the point that was being made. Because its defensive midfielders hes looking for, Carrick replacements. Which is why its Matic, Dier and an as of yet unknown third name but likely some other big lump. Cause thats just Jose! And I'm guessing why so many predicted it would be Fabinho, being the typical Mourinho type and able play a bit too.

Only thing I know for sure is we do need someone and fast and while I like Verratti, it wont be him

Veratti isn't a defensive midfielder either? So the reason he wouldn't be interested is because we already have Herrera, not because of his height.

He was awful tonight ( like always with the NT ) and Isco humiliated him

Agreed he was shocking. I've never actually seen him play well for the national side.

I watched the game specifically to see how he would get on against a strong NT. He was poor and Isco took the piss out of him.

We don't use transfer threads to discuss player performances. If needed you can start a thread in the Football forum for that.
