What a baller this guy is. Controlling and dominating Barcelona. Rabiot was also excellent alongside Di Maria. Would love this player perfect Carrick replacement. Very unlikely that he'd be interested in joining United. But I'd actually would have him over Griezmann.

Is this how transfer threads work now? Player has a great game and a transfer thread is bumped instructing we must sign him?

This isn't transfer worthy at all and damn you fools for making me think we've been linked with my favourite player I want United to sign most. DAMN YOU ALL.

He's a phenomenal player, has the ability to dominate a game ala Modric but the bottle and cnutishness of a Herrera, perfect mix.

I think that it's going to depend on how Monaco, Marseille, Lille and Lyon handle this summer. They all have money and at the exception of Lyon they all have excellent managers, if they manage to do what they want to do, the league should be very strong and a player like Verratti won't be tempted to leave.
Nah, it's not the domestic competition. He wants to win the CL, and he'd rather do it with PSG(he loves living in Paris) but if they can't do it after 6 years, maybe he'll look elsewhere. The other possibility is he loses motivation and decides he needs a new challenge.

And to be actual CL contenders, they need to consistently attract players. At the moment the Ligue 1 isn't attractive and that fact will only change when the other teams start to perform in Europe and in the league.

Isn't this how it always works?

I was quite impressed with Rabiat last night. Has this guy just stepped up? He ran the show!

Made me laugh that he injured himself by diving though, that's Karma for you

PSG is very attractive to big players regardless of the ligue1

Plus they investes heavily in the academy and with all the talent around in france, they don't really need to sign players from outside the league

A lot of young players don't want to sign for them and a lot of big players reject them all the time because of the league.

I don't rate Passi that highly but it would be great for Lille if he prepares the ground for Bielsa.

After long years of downwards slope L1 is on the rise again and the future looks exciting, any of the top 5 clubs will be more attractive and hopefully even more will be able to hold onto their best players. More competition is good for Paris.

Bielsa is supposed to join them this summer.

True but you can never take anything for granted with El Loco.

Back to Verratti transfer rumours:

Marco says the quotes about him dreaming of playing in Barca were made up. He is very happy and winning here represents much more than it would in any other club.

You're right but on the other hand you know his agent :)

Marco Verratti’s agent threatens PSG (again) - 13th February 2017

Donato di Campli, PSG central midfielder Marco Verratti’s agent, once again moved to fire a warning shot to the Ligue 1 champions about the Italian’s future in an interview with L’Équipe.

“Our aim is always the same: to win the Champions League with PSG, which is also the aim of the club. It is not a question of getting Marco out [of the club] at any price, but he wants to win this competition. If it is not possible with PSG, then he will do it somewhere else.

His agent has put him on the market to say the least. Says he wants to win and become a champion and that it can't happen at PSG. Literally my dream mullet signing  but expect Barca/Bayern to land him.

Think the competition for his signature would be immense, especially Barca, Real, Bayern and Chelsea would throw everything at him i imagine.

Would be my transfer target number 1 if there would be a chance of a move.

Soz to be a muppet killer boys but we ain't a top European club atm and are sure as hell nowhere near good enough to win the CL. No guarantees we will even qualify for it. Have a feeling he'll join Barca.

A move to a top European club? Well that rules us out then. :(

Bring Verratti to Utd!

Barca-PSG 6 - 1 is a sign

Carrick is number 16. This guy would be our Carrick replacement. If you make it PSG 1-6 Barcelona (because he plays for PSG) then that's 16. Makes perfect sense to me.

Won't ever happen due to my aforementioned reason.

Imagine a midfield three of Veratti, Herrera/Fabinho and Pogba though. We'd create more chances a game our players could fluff

I thought they were skint?
They are, with wages and whatnot, and probably won't be able to make this happen unless PSG is accommodating. I meant in football terms though. I think he's perfectly suited to their midfield, whereas Real don't need him.

Everyone needs Verratti!

They never buy players they don't need...

Why are Barca so broke? Hear this all the time on here, surely with their global brand they should be swimming in riches?

Verratti Fabinho and Pogba would win the EPL for us.

HAHAHA yeah that has stopped them before. How is James doing these days?

Did read somewhere that they have 65-70% of turnover in wages..

Not for 100m+ though. Whoever signs Verratti won't be doing a lot of other business. So priorities have to be about positions which need reinforcing the most. Real have the best midfield in world football, so I can't see them wasting their entire transfer budget on one injury prone midfielder. They seem to be moving away from the Galáctico policy under Zidane anyway.

I think we're seeing a more restrained RM with Zidane as manager. They're not outspending everyone any more, and they're playing players like Casemiro and Kovacic (as well as Isco, who's started lots more than you'd expect). It's working for them too.
