Marco Verratti

He strikes me as the next Real galaticos, seems to fit Perez's signing policy very well.

A midfield of

----Veratti -------Herrera------

-------Carrick/Schneiderlin------

is up there with the very best in Europe IMO. Pipe dream though, got Real Madrid written all over him

A lot of interest reported currently from us.

Would instantly be the most technical midfielder in the PL if he comes.

Huge fan, I'm all for it. Muppet time.. Verratti-Kante-BFS.

Will never happen though. I know we got Jose and money, but unless Verratti wants to leave, it wont happen. He doesnt want to leave, so i really cant see it.

Better but less realistic than Pogba.

You don't sound convinced.

Throw anything and everything at them. With Jose's pragmatic tactics, a player like him would be invaluable to the cause.

Why do people think he's unrealistic? He's not French and has won everything already in France in a boring league. If the rumors of Zlatan asking United to sign Verratti are true I wouldn't be surprised if he talked him into it.

I'm a fan of the guy, but hasn't he just suffered a massive injury?

Kante ,Verratti and Gomes.
Full muppet mode activated, you know there's no chance whatsoever but you still want to dream.

Won't happen under Jose.

Not enough height in the middle.

I know what you mean, but Makalele, Essien and Lampard wern't exactly the biggest midfield three.

In Kante, Verratti and Rooney, although not the tallest, we'd have three physical players.

Every time I've watched him he has been sublime. On the other hand, every time I've watched Pogba he has been disappointing. The sample is much too small, but from what I've seen, I much prefer Verratti, but I need to stress that the sample is much too small. Most people on the Caf seem to watch twenty hours of football every weekend.

Essien and Lampard are much bigger than any of them, and only Rooney is bigger than Makelele.

He also praised Matic and said he couldn't believe someone would get rid of a 1.95m left footed midfielder.

I'd love Kante and Verratti to be signed but it won't happen with Rooney as one of our starting midfielders. We already lack height as it is, as seen by how weak we are in the air without Fellaini.

I think if a player like Veratti becomes available, you put aside your worries about 'height' in the midfield.

I doubt he has one. I may be wrong, but I don't think players in France are required to have one like they are in Spain.
More than not required, release clauses are forbidden in France.

I think he's class, but you can't ignore how vulnerable we are at set pieces, and Mourinho won't.

Obviously, but you compensate in other areas in order to have Veratti in the team. Not that we're getting him though!

We'd only get him if it was one of those situations where the likes of Real and Barca had other targets for this particular window, a bit like when City signed aguero. Plenty of teams would have wanted Aguero back then but couldn't justify it at that moment in time, and atletico weren't about to sell directly to Real. City seemed to sign him relatively unnaposed.

Personally can't see it happening. Too many teams would be in for him, our pulling power is at the lowest point its been in a long time, and Verratti would probably happily wait another season at PSG for Real or Barca anyway, if no move to one of them materialised this summer.

Unless we entice them with Martial then we don't stand a chance, we need to move on with the midfield targets becasue they all seem a bit pie in the sky at the moment.

Dear god, if only this were true - my number one wild transfer wish for this summer. Can't see it happening though.

He's not realistic because PSG will not sell. Simple. Even Madrid can't get him off their hands.

He is to PSG what Messi is to Barca. Seriously, their owner would rather eat shit than sell us his crown jewel. He can as well just leave PSG altogether if he sells him.

Even if he wants out and hands in transfer request (which is highy unlikely), there's no way PSG is selling him.
