The first bit is true, but no other top club could offer Reus what Dortmund can offer and that is being the star man at the club with the highest attendance in Europe, and btw it's his boyhood club. Hummels is the one that is probably the least inclined to go to another club. Gundogan is a valid point but it's not like he has been important this season.Nonsense, Dortmund couldn't offer him half of what other major clubs could just in terms of finances, add that they're in relegation zone and likely to be losing Hummels/Gundogan this summer and even on a sporting side he's better off elsewhere.

At Barca he'd be playing in front of more than 80k but thats irrelevant. I don't think there is a better fan experience for a player than being at Dortmund when the team is doing well. That stadium and their supporter's base is phenomenal, the best in modern football probably. You think Reus cares about playing in front of 90k people in Dortmund when he could play in front of 80k at Barca/Madrid? He might not be the main man at another big club but he wasn't the main man at Dortmund 2 seasons ago either they have Hummels/Lewandowski/Gundogan. When you join one of the elite european clubs you should expect to be surrounded by world class talent.

If he stays at Dortmund I think that is a very noble move for him. Obviously Barca can't buy him and Madrid don't need a player of his ilk.
I don't see a place for him in Spain. I also think he has too much character to go to Bayern. So if he's to go, its probably to the Premier league.I agree the capacity is irrelevant I only brought it up because it was mentioned as a reason for him to stay which is nonsense. As for an experience plenty of fans would disagree that Dortmund is the best around and their support is a fraction the size of a club like Madrid/Barca/United.
You may think it's noble but It wouldn't be disloyal to leave when every season they sell a star name and are currently unlikely to even feature in the champions league next season. History has shown that footballers will almost always go were the money is even when they have CL football and the chance to win titles. Without either I find it nearly impossible for him to be staying.
If true then it seems he isn't interested to win trophies in the next years.
But he has won nothing in his career so far, will be 26-years old at the end of the season and will not win the Bundesliga or CL in the next 2-3 years with Dortmund. If Real, Chelsea, Bayern and Barcelona are out of the question there is no club he could go to in one of the three biggest leagues and have a guarantee of trophies.
Marco Reus: "I am very happy with my decision. Dortmund is my home city and Borussia is simply my club." "I am looking forward to a successful future with our team and our fantastic fans behind us. We have a lot to do." #BVB
What makes you say this?Has just extended his contract until 2019! No release clause in the new deal most likely so even if he were to leave in the summer at least Dortmund won't get shafted.
It might be a case of him signing a contract with a higher release clause so that Dortmund don't get shafted
As far as I know Watzke mentioned they won't insert release clauses in their players' contract anymore. The Götze transfer might have had something to do with that! What makes you say this?
And fair play to Reus. Whether this is because he plans on staying long term, or he's looking after Dortmund's best interests as far as a sale fee goes, it's always good to see a player show loyalty in the modern game.
He'll stay now at least 2 more seasons in my opinion and I'm 100% sure that Hummels will stay as well. Wouldn't even be surprised if Gündogan extended his contract soon as well. It's a huge sign in so many ways.Of course that doesn't mean he will never leave them but I feel at least now they will be able to get a fair price for him and not the peanuts his buyout clause would have brought them.
