Well, excuse me for not being very enthusiastic at the idea of playing wingers on the side that is opposite to their stronger foot too. Although he's doing a decent job these days, Ashley Young has been a prime example of what can go wrong when a right-footed winger plays on the left or vice-versa?

Not really sure what you're trying to say here mate, that would be like me saying Valencia or some other shit winger like Marc Albrighton is an example of what can happen when you play a winger on the side of their stronger foot. The fact Young plays on the left wing has nothing to do with him being shit, it's has more to do with the fact he's a shit footballer (in fairness to him he's been quite good recently). Robben, Ribery, and Ronaldo play as inverted wingers, that seems to work pretty well! I can kind of understand you not wanting Bale because we're in need of strengthening in other areas far more, the other reason is weird though.

God what I would give for Isco. He could be our Silva.

Agreed. Him or Bale would be ideal to snap up, because they are the two most likely to leave if Reus were to come. Ancelotti surely couldn't play those two, Ronaldo,Benzema, Reus AND James all in the same team without leaving one of those players out regularly?

Agreed. The next Real "reject" we should get is Robben :)

Not a great long term investment in my opinion. For the amount of money he would command, we would be better off pushing hard for Reus who is not even at a peak age yet. Both I believe, however, won't be possible.

Maybe Real will buy Hummels or Thiago Silva next and we can get our hands on reject Raphael..

I have no illusions about us getting either Robben or reus. I feel that reus will end up at Madrid and we'll get bale. Robben seems to be settled in Munich and in the form of his life as well.

Why would Real sell Bale?!?! Seriously?!? It's not going to happen him and Ronaldo are their poster boys! If they are selling Isco then I'm in completely. Reus will end up at Real or Bayern IMO

It´s been reported he has been driving around with a forged driver´s license from the Netherlands. :wenger: That probably factored into the hammering fine besides his income.

And Reus has been one of my favourite players since the Gladbach days, when everybody was on the Goetze bandwagon, but that´s some serious stuff.

Im totally with you. Its dead serious.
But I also think that we shouldnt go on now and declare him crazy and so on.
You can get into stuff like that during a long time run, which is sneaky.

Btw; asked about Neuer and Ronaldos battle for Ballon Dor Ancelotti declared Reus "the best German player".
He is going to Real. I would take that. Another German star there, no "Bayern is ruining the BL" idiotic talks and perhaps a nice Sterling for us.

If that's true Real Madrid are doing brilliant business, first destroying the market with Bale, then bringing in two of Germany's best players for absolute peanuts.

Don't see why Reus would prefer being a squad player at Madrid to joining us if we reach CL though. The quotes that United is Reus' favourite foreign club were false though, weren't they?

He'd be at the best club in the world, win a lot of trophies, rotate a lot with the others and eventually be Ronaldo's successor.

If Isco goes, he's going to City. If Bale goes, he's coming to United.

Silva and Isco in the same team would be hideous.

What about Mata for Reus (assuming Mata would be happy playing the German second division).

Much as I like Mata, he just seems like a player Dortmund would value far more than us.

Yep, and he would do very well there because he is a brilliant player. Won some kind of Bundesliga player of the year award, just like team mate Nuri Sahin, who also went to Real Madrid and is a good example of what could go wrong. And Reus with his qualities and his age might feel he should always be an undisputed starter, not a rotation player.

But based on the 'Führerschein-' (best word in the world) affair, he might be the type of guy who can't resist Real Madrid. A lot will depend on Bale, him leaving would set doors wide open. But why would we go for Bale first for insane money while our attack is already our strongest area?

We might as well try Reus or go for other cheaper options like Depay and let it be. Maybe City or Chelsea want Bale and could afford him, wouldn't know that, but then again maybe Bale doesn't want to leave at all.

I think they already have Henrikh and Kagawa for the #10. Maybe we can throw in Ando, I'm sure a gesture like that would be much appreciated.

I think the same, but when it comes to Real, people get deluded and just want to go there, its the sad fact.

I thought Mata was our silva?

He was Chelsea's Silva. Will he ever perform for us like he did for Martinez's Chelsea side? Probably not, but hopefully. Feel the team would need to be built around him to see at his best.

Anyway, what's this about Bale going for Reus? Surely that'd be a downgrade? Isco, I can see, but Bale? The most expensive player, ever. Nah.

If true then you'd have to think one would be off. Isco, James, Ronny or Bale.

Not really, he is as productive but would contribute more in general play I think, especially in the direction Real is heading to at the moment. I rate them around the same level.

First off, sorry if there is already a thread but I couldn't find one.

I was just wondering about the chances we have of signing this guy.
Recently, when Reus has been mentioned as a United target I immediately just laugh it off thinking 'no chance' (Mainly because of the Bayern links)

Do we actually have a chance of signing him or are we even in for him?

Where would people want to play isco considering rooney will have to play central and we already have di maria and mata for the more central roles, with hererra being very effective there also. i would LOVE him here, but can he play outwide, and would he be effective there, considering all our clamour for pace

Pellegrini's 4-4-2 I think:

----Rooney-RVP/Falcao
-DiMaria-------Isco---
--Herrera-Blind/Carrick

So, not really any more pace, but presumably better combination play

We don't have the advantage of beeing one of only a few clubs that will be able to afford him. With Reus it will come to where he actually wants to go, which will make this transfer pretty much impossible I'd imagine.

Isco would be immense.

Bale - Rooney - di Maria
Isco - Herrera
Blind

Isco is naturally a left sided player so he'd fit fine. As for Reus, I see us as probably the 4th or 5th option down the pecking order in signing him.

We need a goal scoring winger, so he is the perfect fit for us. Only thing is he seems to be injured quite alot.

i don't see why we COULDN'T sign him, Barca/Real/Bayern already have a class left winger.

Came in looking to find news on Reus, find muppets muppeting about Bale & Isco.

So who are actually the current favourites to sign him, is it Real?

Last things I heard in the german media: Bayern are NOT in contact with Reus' agent or Dortmund. Real looks like the most likely destination for the media, I guess.

All in all, nothing new in the last month or so I'd say.
