Marco Reus

Someone here watched "Doppelpass" today?

Watzke was in the studio and also talked about Reus. He talked about his possible transfer and said that he knows what Marco is thinking now but can't and don't want to say more. Maybe it's just me but just the way he said that and how annoyed he was when he said that it just really looks like he is joining Bayern in the summer for me. Maybe it doesn't mean anything, but with all the talk in the last few weeks I just don't think he will join anyone else.

not all dortmund players or the best bundesliga players must necessarily end up at Bayern. I believe we are going to be the team no1 wanting to acquire world class winger as we desperately need one. Van Gaal will want to at least try to play 4-3-3. Januzaj is one winger diMaria for me is make shift winger and will be rather used in midfield, so we need one. DOn't think this 4-1-2-1-1-1 is what we end up playing in the end. So I believe we will go for Reus or Depay if not both..

If he joins Bayern, we should look at getting Shaqiri, who could play out right for us and give us some pace and a threat from wide.

I feel we might actually have a good chance of getting him if we qualify for the CL this year. We sorely need a player or two like him which means he will get his playing time here and we can pay competitive wages so unless Real is swooping in I think we have a fairly good chance of getting him and for 25M€ we would be crazy to not make a bid for him.

I really hope he doesn't end up at Bayern. Though having said that I'd rather he sign for them than United, the Chavs or City...

Kicker reporting that he will stay in Dortmund or go to Bayern. Nowhere else.
Didnt read the article yet but some internet pages quote that.
He is just 25. And German football is going as strong as ever. Why would he leave that. Makes sense.
We will see but IF he leaves Germany its Barca for me. He likes the club very much and neither City or Chelsea are in Barcas places(the first has big troubles in europe, the other is infamous for his playing styles).
United and Liverpool arent among the very top clubs atm. Neither any Italian club.
And Real is infamous in Germany for being very harsh, even to its best players(Özil).

So its between Bayern and Dortmund in the summer for me(Barca transfer ban), if Kicker wrote that(very good sources).

He could win a serious amount of trophies at Chelsea. When they win the league this year they won't let up. How do Chelsea improve? Reus in.

Trophies, WC manager, European football, London, 200k a week, real chance of winning something every year, the PL.

where as if he goes to bayern

more trophies, WC manager (who was also a WC player), European football (playing for the favourites), Munich (Where they speak German and its closer to family), probably a bit less gross wage but about the same net, an almost certain chance of winning something every year, the BL (plus playing with lots of international team mates and former team mates)

He would certainly improve Chelsea - and I think he would suit Jose's style well being quick on the counter - but Bayern would be a tempting proposition for any player right now - they are immense

When Kicker reports something, it's extremely likely to be true. Usually they are announcing transfers only when the club does, they have decided to completely stay away from the media circus. If they report that, it will happen with a cartainty of 90%. Don't know if I like that, but to your comfort: I don't think United was ever an option, they semm to seriously lack appeal to german players. Don't know why though.

Maybe he wants to try something else. Winning the Bundesliga with Bayern is nothing special.

Maybe. Either way, I do feel as if it is Chelsea vs Bayern for his signature.
I have said in threads I see him as the player that would fit perfect for chelsea with him costa and hazard operating as a front three and either fabregas behind them or oscar behind them and fabregas in central midfield - I just dont see him going there - but perhaps thats me as a united fan just hoping so much he does not go there I have deluded myself that he wont?

My gut feel is that Shaquiri will move on and reuss will join bayern but its just a gut feeling - Id still love him to join united - Id much rather spend 25m on him (or whatever his buyout clause is) as he would walk into the team and improve us straight away than 50m on falcao who at the moment has not shown enough (yet) to suggest he is a significant upgrade on Rooney / RVP

Playing great in a top 3 league for 34 game days is always special.
And the our dominance in the last 2 season is even for Bayern unreal. SHOULD we win it 2 times more in a blow out then we can talk about not special.
Till then its great work in a league with a CL finalist(2012/13) and 3 other teams in the last 16 of the CL(last season).
Now its the league of the world champions. Special enough for me atm.

Bayern will tank the league for the next 5 years easily.

One problem with suggesting Barça as a potential place for Reus - Barça has a transfer ban until January 2016.

Taxes are higher in Germany - 53% is top rate I think? Compared to 45% in the UK so not sure why sun tzu is suggesting that the net would be higher in Germany than England.

Anyways, I think United have big appeal again now that we are paying the top-end of the market fees and wages. I think that was our only real problem before.

We will be back in CL next season. A couple of good signings and we will be fighting for all trophies.

The PL is so far ahead of every other league in terms of popularity around the world. And we're the poster boys of it.

I can see him at Chelski too though. They tick every box for a footballer

Who would've thought that Barca could get rekt 7-0 in a CL semi after the 10/11 season? Who would've thought that Atletico would be La Liga champions and almost treble winners two years ago?

Things change very quickly in football and a big part of Bayern's spine is getting old.

If Marco Reus is joigning Bayern, do you think that Ribery can be a solution instead ?

I don't think that he is going to leave. Why would he? The guy will be 32 next summer.

Do you think other clubs pay less?

Tbh someone who does not support United will probably replace 'will' with 'may' and if he goes for Bayern there won't be any ifs and mays there will be certainty.

Maybe consider that the guy is not some fanboy? Reus hasn't pushed himself into the spotlight thus far and I don't see any indication why that changed. So global popularity might not be his biggest concern.

According to Bild ManCity is preparing a huge offer to sign Reus next summer. They are speaking about 13 Million euro per year.

But i honestly can't see Marco moving there.

Didn't this guy actually say he wasn't interested in United? Looks like none of our German links are interested, from Robben to Hummels, Kroos and Muller etc. To hell with them all

Yeah, sorry, should have wrote that winter 2015/16 is also out.
But I said that Barca is out the summer run.

No one saw Dortmund winning in 2011 and 2012 in the summer of 2010. And our distance to Dortmund is, if all, smaller then in the summer of 2010.
5 years, with Dortmund,Wolfsburg,Schalke,Leverkusen and Leipzig, is some strech. I dont say it wont happen but we will see. United won the PL 3 times in a row(Bayern never did manage more then 3 btw) and no one talked about 7 years.

The league of the world champions with all the hype of the last years isnt so far behind the PL. Bayern is bigger then anything in the PL, in terms of history and current form and squad strength.
If he has the choice between Bayern and a PL club Bayern will be the biggest draw.
We can pay as much as anyone.

I never saw that. He was quoted as saying he would never join Bayern but those quotes were later found to be false.

Maximum income tax rate is also 45% in Germany.

Pretty sure him and Shaqiri will be replacing Ribery and Robben, probably look to cash in on two 30 year old wingers rather than peaking young 20 year olds.

It's gotta be tough being a Dortmund fan, really. Hopes hugely built up just to make Bayern endlessly better instead.

Shaqiri will most likely leave at some point, not good enough.

Shaqiri is on his way out, which is probably for the best, and Robben doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon.

Like I said; the club is getting stronger and bigger every year. Even in this season they already reached the KO rounds of the CL, which brings money and points for seedings.
Also on a good way in the German cup. And the Bundesliga is so tight that top 4 are still very reachable. The 140 million of the stock deals made them debt free and got them strong money ressources.
All fine in Dortmund. They even have a shot at Reus staying IF they are near the CL in the winter break. Puma(a stockholder) could take some parts of his salary to help the companies investment.

And like the others said; Shaq is a very good player but he should be better with 23 to be considered a Ribery/Robben replacement.

I've read rumours Hoeness has told Bayern not to sign Reus because he wants to keep Dortmund a competitive side. Will be interesting to see if that's the case although I doubt it. Would love City to sign him, we haven't made a signing like that since Aguero in 2011, but with the competition involved it will be a big task persuading him to sign.

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of buying another Dortmund star either, but in case Reus definitely wants to leave Dortmund I'd rather see him join us then, say, Real. No matter where he goes to, Dortmund will lose a lot of competitve edge and even more ground on Bayern, so whether or not he joins us or anybody else becomes secondary, much like Lewandowski's departure. Should he depart to Spain, England etc., the Bundesliga would lose a bright star and Bayern could simply buy somebody else to increase the gap.

Don't think you'll ever be making a record breaking signing again, how ever it just as easy to complete without doing so.

Been heavily linked with us now, plus rumors they want Schurrle. Our attack would be pretty spesh if we got him.

Just a nothing story really created by BILD... Dortmund don't need a player like Schürrle at all.

If it's a buyout clause in his contract then rumours that Dortmund want Schürrle are completely irrelevant, no?
