Marco Reus

Even if you convince dortmund, which would be pretty damn hard, why should reus want to leave this summer? He wont play CL. He would join a club with uncertain future and he wont be better off financially.

I don't think Arsenal would be in for him at present. Sanchez, Ozil, Walcott, The Ox, Cazorla, Podolski and other youths or people I've forgotten need game time.

How on earth are Arsenal favourites? Wingers and attacking midfielders are the absolute lowest of their priorities and even next year, bar fatal injuries to certain players.

He won't leave this summer, how ever i can see pretty much every big club in Europe trying to get him next summer.

This. Thanks to his relatively low release clause it's safe to say that come next summer he will be arguably the most in demand player of at least the last 5 summers.

I agree with Bayern. I actually think there's a small window of opportunity to nab him this summer because of the buyout clause. Offer Dortmund €50m so they profit 15m more than this summer and it also prevents Bayern just paying the clause next summer and leaving them helpless like with Gotze.

Reus would not do this. He is getting more out of it next year as he probably will get 10 per cent of the buyout clause (same agent like Götze and Götze did) and he can make a much better contract with his next club if they only have to pay this 35 million...

He will be the summer signing, no doubt about that. The funny thing is that he won't be a Rodriguez or Suarez-style signing, rather a bargain £35 million one that will undoubtedly go to Bayern bar some miracle circumstances.

He won't be the "target of the summer" he'll already have something in place way before then. No saga in this one, personal terms agreed around January and a formality buying him out as soon as the window opens.

Any club can offer him a sign on fee and whoever he joins will be paying huge wages regardless due to the competition for his signature. United/Madrid/City can certainly offer more in wages than Bayern.

Early prediction from me: Chelsea bound with Hazard leaving for big money.

£60m+ for Hazard with Reus in for £28m.

No drop in quality and FFP satisfied once again.

Not saying we will, but the likes of Podolski would be moved on in favor of Reus. Wenger has been a fan for a while too.

As if Reus would go to Arsenal. No chance, if they sign that guy I will be stunned. All the giants will be after him.

The German players at Arsenal would be a draw as well, but you'd have to prove yourself as serious title contenders to convince him to sign.

Real and Barca are the 'giants,' and I don't see where he would fit there. Bayern are the other obvious choice as Robben and Ribery are getting on, though Reus has said he'd never join them (though things change).

It would be out of the Premiership clubs... And who knows what will happen this season. If you'd told me a year ago that we'd have signed Ozil and Sanchez within a year then I'd have laughed at you before having a crywank.

I don't see why he'd make that step-down though when he could be nearly anywhere he wanted. Ozil left because he felt he was being replaced/wouldn't be guaranteed first choice and to be honest, who was interested in him other than you? United maybe but I doubt that was concrete. Barca obviously no, Bayern stacked in that position and Madrid were the sellers, then you have City who have Silva/Nasri. Weren't PSG the only real competition?

Sanchez is a bit different too considering only Liverpool really opposed you for him. Both top players but Reus is a bit different I feel, if you did get him it'd really surprise me. If Bayern are interested I can't see Reus turning that down no matter what he's said in the past.

I don't see how he'd fit at Barca/Madrid either but I said the same for Rodriguez, you never know with Madrid. Can't see him going to Barcelona. To be honest, every club will be interested for that kind of cash - City, United, Liverpool (lel), Arsenal, Bayern and even PSG (though can't see Reus going to Ligue 1).

If you did somehow pull it off it'd be massive - Reus, Sanchez and Ozil in attacking positions would be among the best in world football and with a world class striker (Cavani?) to replace Giroud it'd be fearsome. Like I said though, can't really see it.

We're in need of a good left winger though...

I actually think he'll probably choose the club that he'll actually get playing time at.

Arsenal are no longer whipping boys, they have money to play with now. The only thing that will really stop a player going there is maybe their wage structure. It will be interesting to see how they do this year. Right now they have a better starting XI than us. If they sign a top dm and striker, they will be right up there for the title race.

.....no. We can offer anything that these clubs can offer in times of FFP. No club has more money then we do(extern owner money not included).
Ribery and Robben arent getting younger. He is German. A great guy also. I can see us standing ready.
BUT we wanted him in 2012 and he went to Dortmund. Money isnt everything for him imo.

Whose "we"? Are you a United or Bayern fan? If Bayern then you can say "no" all you want but just a look at the respective wage bills shows that Bayern don't offer players the same type of wages as those on offer at the other clubs mentioned, otherwise Toni Kroos would still be playing at Bayern.

He must be talking about United because we could blow Bayern out the water financially any day of the week.

How can you say that? Arsenal are a big club who seem to be building a very good team, you would have said that about Sanchez too.

As mentioned earlier, they won't be able to keep up with the wages the big boys will be offering. I expect Reus transfer saga to be absolutely mental next season.

That's not true. You can't seriously believe that?

In terms of money, no one can offer more than United and Real, purely because of sponsors.

FYI: Reus never ruled out a move to Bayern, afaik that was another piece of quality journalism out of England.

And the guy might as well stay at Dortmund before he goes to Arsenal.

anchan1989 is the biggest bayern/germany fanboy I have ever encountered  He is wumming this forum for a while now.

I put him on ignore a very long time ago, once in a while I look at his ignored posts, and I never regretted my decision in the slightest.

If we buy Reus, the whole 352-idea is moot. He wont fit very well into such a formation. He's a winger and inside forward at best, but, never a centalized forward.

He could play in the system the exact same way Robben did.

LVG said he prefers the 4-3-3 but because of the lack of wide players and the abundance of strikers in our squad we are playing 3-5-2. Maybe if we can get a player like Reus next summer and with some other additions we might see a move to the 4-3-3 formation in 15/16. I can´t think of many better players than Reus suited for the wide forward position.

He came out with an interview today, that he wants to play central for Dortmund this season and believes that's his best position because he's then more involved in the game. It looks more and more like Mkhitaryan will be played as a winger and Reus central, which was already the case at the end of last season and lead to some excellent performances. He was also brilliant as a 2nd striker in a central role for Gladbach, arguably still his best season in his career. I'd say he would be a perfect fit as a free roaming 2nd striker in a 352.
