Marco Reus

He's a local boy and turned down bigger offers from the bigger clubs to return to his youth/home club - I'm not sure he'll be going anywhere too soon. A fantastic player, might be the most promising German player atm and certainly the most exciting in the Bundesliga

Very excited to see what he can do with Goetze, let's hope Reus can stay healthy all season, that injury last season really put the breaks on an amazing first half.

First Dortmund game of the season is friday, 8/24, at home to Bremen, 2:30 PM ET/7:30 BST.

My father in law is secretly annoyed that I don't follow Suisse footy more but between all the Barcelona, Premiership & Dortmund footy I like to follow there simply isn't enough time :D

Not worth to follow that, trust me

You never know, dortmund have loads of promising young players who by that time might be nearing their prime, and they could have quite a team if they're players don't get poached. Gotze, Reus, leitner, bender, hummels are all still very young and are currently very good players with loads of potential.

They are also already back to back winners of the bundesliga, he is German as well so he would have no real reason to leave. You don't see all that many Germans playing abroad, they tend to stay in the German league (well most of them anyways)

I think the bit about germans staying is a generational thing.

Ozil and Khedira are the new generation and they left for the big money in spain. Sahin, having been born and lived in germany all of his life (though he plays for turkey) also left.

Or do you mean "german germans"? ;)

He is very quick isnt he, reminds me of nani but with less tricks, perhaps more direct. great player! would fit in with us nicely.

First time I'm seeing him for Dortmund. Good finish but Dortmund haven't been great in the final third. Attacks have fizzled out. Been the case for him as well. Lots of scrappy play.

dortmund have not really played well this season so far. Bayern hammered them, their polkal match was against crap opposition, and werder started off better tonight.

reus on the other hand has been sharp, direct, and can finish.

Yeah I think Reus has been one of the few bright spots for Dortmund so far, he's been lively. He can't offer the same ball retention and passing that Kagawa gave them but he offers that bit more pace and goal threat.

Reus was very good and very pacy and direct but Dortmund were fairly poor in the final third tonight. I think they'll miss Kagawa and his play in the final third.

They missed Götze in top form.

Großkreutz is a hard worker and a solid player but he shouldn't start over a fully fit Götze.

Götze--Reus--Kuba will be pretty amazing and I doubt they will miss Kagawa much with those three on the field.

I think it's much more likely that Reus will be playing in the hole, if that's where you mean, and Goetze will play on the left, personally. Do you see Reus going back to the right, where he was playing for Gladbach at the beginning of last season?

Once Goetze is fit and firing in Kagawa's former role. That will change swiftly.

I intend to watch a lot more of them. Even though they weren't at their best yesterday I really like their style of play. Am I right in thinking that it is similar to Bilbao's in many ways? I thought so based on yesterday and what I've heard in general - high tempo, high line, lots of pressing, short but quick and direct passing moves. Really love that kind of football.

It's an identical playing philosophy its true.

I thought so. It's a lovely brand of football IMO. Provides such end to end entertainment and brilliant tempo.

I thought our football at the start of last season was somewhat similar i.e with the ball rather than without. While without the ball we didn't really press the way these teams seem to, on the ball we passed it short and very very quickly. No wonder it was the most enjoyable football played by United in my mind. I wish we'd stick by that brand of football and perfected it instead of abandoning it due to getting smashed by City.

I'm convinced the injuries of Anderson and Cleverely out paid to that project. I'm hoping we revive it this season.

Not sure it will happen. Scholes will most likely play a huge part in our campaign and that style doesn't suit him these days. Even in preseason when Anderson, Scholes and Powell played in midfield, despite having two young legs capable of being dynamic, we played at a walking pace.

Reus has started the season very well, in 5 starts, one of which has was taken off at halftime, and 1 substitute appearance he has 4 goals and 1 assist. He's taken only 1.8 shots per game, and has needed only 6 shots on target to score those 4 goals.

I hope we have agents in Dortmund working on getting him over here!

He was great today. Drifted inside and got behind the Irish defence with ease. Should have had a penalty as well, but got a yellow instead.

One of my favorite players to watch. Such a direct player and quite dangerous on the ball.

Gundogan is 'grass is greener' thinking. He's good, but he shines more because Dortmund's system is so good, the players are so well coached in it, and it suits him so well. You'd see a serious drop in performance if he came to us. Wouldn't swap him for Cleverley or an Anderson guaranteed to stay injury free (big ask I know).

The other two, however, are
