Marco Reus

Perfect for us imo. 30m would be a steal in todays market. Nani, Kagawa/Rooney, Reus and Van Persie.

Klopp isn't going to let us take Kagawa, Gundogan and Reus.

In seriousness, are we still of the opinion that Moyes isn't a fan of Kagawa? We have got an abundance of wide players and it doesn't look like Kagawa will be shifting Rooney out of the central position any time soon, so maybe... no, I'll stop the muppetness here. Kagawa won't be involved in any sort of swap-deal for Gundogan. Reus, however, Klopp would have no power over. Clause an all.

Clause is 37 mln Euro but I can't remember if there isn't something more to it. Who had this clause that's activated in 2015?

Pretty sure it can't be activated before the World Cup or something, but he's given no signs at all that he'd want to leave in the near future. Even if someone does bid the release clause, I doubt he'd want to go anywhere for the next few seasons. He at one of the best clubs in the world which happens to be his hometown club as well. He's one of the best wingers in the world though, probably third, after Ronaldo and Ribery.

I dont think ive ever heard of a team buying a teams replacement aswell as the player they originally replaced

I would categorically say yes to that deal. I do think Kagawa is a great footballer, but something isn't clicking at the moment. Don't know what it is about him, but I could see Reus being a real success on the wing in the Premier league, and it's definitely a spot he could make his own on the left, with competition from Young and Nani...

We never do swaps, but Klopp has a hard on for Kagawa, so perhaps he may want him back if we were to make a decent + cash offer. Less than a 5% chance of that ever happening though.

This is assuming Reus even wants to leave Dortmund. He's a fan.

I think everyone would say yes to that deal, bar MadWinger. Kagawa is an excellent footballer but he really needs to play in the middle and he hasn't a hope of displacing Rooney in this form. Reus could come straight into the team and fit it perfectly.

Story sounds like a load of fecking bollocks though, would be a bad deal for Klopp. Especially now that he has Mkhitaryan to play centrally.

Klopp will start playing Kagawa on the left and he'll be amazing. Caf will implode.

I wonder what it would take to tempt them out of Reus and Gundogan.

Kagawa + £70m? I'd be satisfied with that if I were a Untes fan anyway and I love Kagawa.

More like £40m + Kagawa if Gundogan decides to run down his contract.

He could do a job out wide for us. I doubt he leaves anytime soon though.

No on swapping Kagawa. Definitely, yes on Reus. We could move Nani and Young to clear some space.

Kagawa to Dortmund will not happen according to this guy https://twitter.com/ThomasHennecke (He works for the serious german football magazine Kicker and his focus is on Borussia Dortmund).

He says: "If Kagawa will leave Man Utd in January (No one says so).......he will not go to Dortmund".

But if i would play the muppet game then i would buy Reus and sell Kagawa (I love Shinji and he's a great player).
But If Rooney is here for the next 4-5 years then Kagawa will never play in the No.10 position, i think we all know Kagawa isn't a winger and we can only see his best form in the No.10 position.

Nani/Januzaj------Rooney--------Reus

Reus would be awesome but there will be so many clubs after him that chances of getting him here ever would be extermely slim

reus and gundogan would be dream signings. gundogan is what we need at CM for quite some time now while reus would be an upgrade from nani (sadly he hasn't been performing these days) and young.

Use the diamond damn it! Use the diamond!

Woahhhh..that would be cum-worthy!

It's pathetic and funny at the same time how obviously they make most of their stuff up. This swap deal would leave Dortmund with no natural left midfielder but two no10s who are quite similar. Why would they do that? This guy hears about the release clause (which as be known for two years) and thinks to himself "now what story can i make of that?". Quality journalism.

Confirmed buyout clause of £30m. Can't see him leaving Dortmund though. Honigstein says it only kicks in in 2015 :(

Imagine having Januzaj (with a years EPL experience) and Reus tearing up the wings! Just the thought gets me a excited!

It's not a case of getting them to accept it or not. It's that I can't see Reus willing to move anywhere, even if teams pay his release clause.

United need to do what other teams do for players if they want the best. Ozil joined Arsenal because they offered him mega bucks - even in comparison to tidy wages in Madrid, likewise Aguero (and others) at Man City.

Not all players are purely motivated by money, but offering someone double his salary along with a move to a top European League and regular chance of winning trophies will be tempting. It may not be enough but you're in with a chance.
