Still untrue. Don't see how it was fortunate. If anything we have been rather unlucky under Amorim. Our stats are better than the results show. The opposite of how many games under EtH went.
I don’t want to derail this thread, but most likely we are not talking about the same poster or even the same post.He didn't say, we didn't make any progress . He just said we were bit fortunate to win against City. Huge difference!
Severely harmed our chances of getting something from the game by taking him off. Maybe he has a niggle or something. Otherwise I don’t get it.Midfield general. Just look at what happened after he went off. I'd go as far as to say that he's our most important player currently. Watching our "midfield" get rolled over after he went off was painful.
Yellow. Why we hooked him off instead of Bruno, I'll never know.
Or Mainoo. That was his first big mistake while making a sub.Why we hooked him off instead of Bruno, I'll never know.

Should have never ever come off. Our best player today. Our control and ability to press high died against Bournemouth and Spurs after he went off
We are going to run him and Amad into the ground or risk them getting injured unless the rest can step up more than a few levels and help them out. We looked so meek today without him. Like a training match.
He started against Spurs as well. I imagine it was just load management.Severely harmed our chances of getting something from the game by taking him off. Maybe he has a niggle or something. Otherwise I don’t get it.
Shouldn’t start if he can only play 55 minutes, and he looked fine when he came off. We conceded twice within ten minutes of him leaving the pitch. Bruno-Mainoo is a suicidal midfield pairing. Poor from Amorim. He started against Spurs as well. I imagine it was just load management.
You guys need to talk to each other.
I wonder what the manager is thinking? Surely that our recruitment is still fundamentally flawed. Too many players not mentally / physically / technically up to it that cost a bomb. We can’t even just blame the stupid glazers anymore. I understand that the smaller well organised clubs like the likes of Bournemouth are now able to go out and buy a robust team that could go far in or even win the EL but with what we spend and pay in wages we should be a team competing in the knockouts of the CL. So if we want it as much as them and work as hard as them we should win. Simply from a value perspective we are still getting shafted due to not actually being willing or able to identify and execute the signing of real top players over the last 13 years or so.
I really like Ugarte and we need a lot more like him. It’s starting to look like we need to find a new attacking talisman too. It’s fecking endless
Yellow and fitness management. I get why he was taken off. Think he said his recovery is slow, so needs more time.
Issue is why does United's midfield have to completely collapse without him? Or why not put Casemiro there? Certainly better than Fernandes in that area.
If he gets injured, United are getting relegated is what it feels like.
I disagree that our attack improved. We started the 2H very flat but the one time we did anything of note he was actually involved. Then he came off and our attack didn't actually improve until we were 3-0 down, at which point you'd expect both us being more carefree going forward and them happy to sit back. Our attacking football did improve after he went off. And we needed a goal. But that was all made redundant by 5 minutes of completely clueless defending. Which didn’t really have anything to do with what happened in midfield.

I don't blame Amorim for the sub. In fact, I appreciate the fact he doesn't desperately hold on to faves running them into the ground. Others should step up, simple.
I wouldn't say we conceded because he came off but, likewise, I would be careful not to jump to the conclusion we are better going forward without him.
Yeah I don't have much time for formations that don't involve playing him or casemiro even when chasing games. Feels counterproductiveYellow and fitness management. I get why he was taken off. Think he said his recovery is slow, so needs more time.

A bigger problem is that we need a left 10 similar to Amad who can take players on, this would reduce the need for defence splitting passes. Is stamina an issue or just caution with yellows?
He is elite as a ball winner, but he and Mainoo are not a good base for the team to play progressive football from, there is just enough passing range, needs a passer alongside him. Ugarte is tidy, rarely does anything silly on the ball to be fair.
Dude is a one man midfield. He’s our best player by some distance.

I agree but with a 10 who is comfortable on the ball this becomes less prominent. To take a step up you are correct and we need a dictating playmaker from deep. In this day and age he needs to be defensively proficient too or very good at coordinated pressing. You just need someone who can switch the ball quickly. Ugarte can play it occasionally but it seems to take him some time to feel his way into a game before he feels comfortable to try it, and even then it is a bit telegraphed and floaty, a bit like Amrabaat.
Mainoo doesn't have it either so it is all a bit one paced from midfield.
We would have ended with 9 and him suspended for longer. Why do we keep taking him off
He was already getting a rest next game so it made absolutely no sense to take him off at 60 odd minutes
Probably felt he was going to get exposed by Cuhna while on a yellow, we also needed more going forward. Why do we keep taking him off
