Best DM in the league on current form. He's pretty much our midfield, there's no-one else just him.
I wasn’t seeing it to begin with, but I sure am now. He was brilliant in doing a job that’s been vacant for too long.

Ugarte and Mainoo is the midfield long term. Bruno and Mainoo can rotate in the deep role when Bruno isn't playing as the 10, but Ugarte needs some depth as you need a guy like him to cover ground

Back in 2020, before he even moved to Europe, I recommend him on here after seeing him play for Uruguays youth team. I don't think anyone mentioned him before. Happy to see him coming good here.
Thing is, he's actually turned into a different style of midfielder. In the youth team, I likened him to de jong on here as he was more of a controller who could resist pressing opposition. Since he moved to Sporting, he became more of an all action type that covers every blade of grass. I'm still surprised by this.

He is what I thought we were getting with Casemiro. Solid performance and keep on getting better.
He was immense. The number of times he breaks down opposition attacks by seemingly “harmless” fouls is incredible.

He's been quietly having a good season after a shaky start. Great from him today. I daresay that our ability to go toe to toe with teams like Arsenal and City and not be dominated by them is partly due to him in the middle.
Finally have signed the quality CDM United have been seeking for years and big upgrade on the players that tried to play in that role before him

He's got 4 lungs, loved seeing him close down every players every chance he got. We just need a more creative midfielder next to him and then our midfield (Mainoo is not ready yet) will start looking real nice

There's been a lot of talk about his ball winning and stamina but what stands out to me is how intelligent he is. I don't know how to explain it but it's just apparent in the way he moves around midfield. Get him the right partner and we can finally have something decent in the middle.
Casemiro and also Matic were actually quite good at CDM for about half a season.. hopefully Ugarte is going to stay good a bit longer than that.
MoTM for me - did soo much of the dirty work - just a very intelligent player who can back it up with some bite.
As already said his age profile is better than those two.

He'll get overlooked for Diallo but my word that was one of the best performances I've seen from a midfielder wearing red in many many years.

Thought he was brilliant. His progressive passing may be lacking but he’s actually very good in those deeper areas closer to goal. Very reliable.
