Manchester United vs Real Madrid (Thu 27th July, 01:30 UK time)

It’s no use trying to explain to the De Gea haters that in order to improve our attacking performance that we needed a striker more than we needed a keeper.
Yeah the thing is you’re exaggerating just as much as those you’re arguing against. I dont recall any of the supposed “De Gea haters”, which I’m sure you probably count me amongst, saying we didn’t need to sign a striker. It was always said that we needed both, as shown by the fact we’ve spent the entire summer thus far chasing a goalkeeper and a striker.

Dalot has played a completely different game from AWB in the first half. EtH either gave them different instructions or Dalot has been incapable of following them.

Amazing that some can’t see the difference Onana has made this half. Doesn’t mean we don’t still need a striker, but it was a massive piece of the puzzle.

Literally, no one thinks we don't need a striker. I don't know what the other poster is rambling about tbh.

He hasn't. Haven't pinged a long pass yet and his shifts/sweeps doesn't really help because we haven't put on the tempo to get from end to end in order to benefit from it.

Doesn't mean he won't make a difference, but using this game as an exhibit for it is hyperbole.

Antony is taking on the left back consistently now. Whilst he is, if the movement around him is good and he stops his tunnel vision, there will be so many opportunities.

Onana was gettable, affordable and most importantly, a better overall keeper than De Gea.

Anyone who really expected a keeper to transform the attack is a fecking idiot, no matter who they are. It’s a nonstarter of an argument.

And I have no clue why people are complaining about a striker when we are literally deep into negotiations to sign one as we speak.

Pellistri i swear will one day become a very good player. I don't know if it'll be here. But so much pace and quality dribbling there

Pellistri has looked bright every time I've seen him. Not a show pony at all but a tidy, effective player.

At times it's clear we're trying to play in the very specific way Ten Hag wants us to but we just don't look comfortable doing it.

Our players are trained excellently in the art of poor decision making

Pellestri is busy, skillful, nippy, works hard. We have given chance after chance to so many average players. Why not him?
