Yeah, good point; don't suppose Fergie would come out and say publicly he was getting rid because he suspected steroid abuse. Mind you, later on in his book, Fergie did allude to being disappointed with how things ended with Stam. So could have been a combination of factors. What I remember is keen disappointment at the time.
I was gutted at the time and shocked when he got banned, but thought at the time the 2 were connected.

They'll both play. Probably Martial as well. Question is will Lingard also play, or will Mata I think.
Agreed. I think Mourinho needs a playmaker, in Mkhitaryan's absence, so I'm expecting Mata. Like Rashford, his part in last game earned him a start.

get out of here, its the FA Cup not some tin pot competition, this is second only to the PL.
Europa is second after the league, for me at least.

The FA Cup is great and I agree with you it's not to be cast aside as irrelevant, but winning the Europa would be a route into the CL if we stumble in the league, and we've also never won it before.

Yeah EL is definitely 2nd priority. If we miss out on the top four then we can fall back on the Europa League.

Also, I have a feeling Schweinsteiger is going to start this game. Would love it if he did to be fair. I was quite impressed with him when he came on against West Ham in the EFL cup.

This comp is our 4th priority.
Don't even mind if we get knocked out, so long as we field mostly 2nd string players I'll be happy.
Weird. Imagine that attitude in 99. I don't think I've ever not minded when we've been knocked out of the FA Cup, hate it.

Would like to see Martial start he's had too much stop-start this season he needs a run of games.

Think we will see Rashford, Rooney and Mata. Fellaini too. Hard to guess the rest.

Hopefully we go out and do the job no messing around. It'd be great if Jose can retain the FA Cup this year.

I think Jose rates this as a potentially tougher tie than the Hull game, I therefore expect him to field a strong line up today & rotate more on Tuesday. Obviously Rooney & Romero are starting but I would only expect a max of one or two other changes.

He points better than anyone else in our squad.

He loves silverware, and he's in a semifinal. I couldn't see him starting one with Romero and Rooney, otherwise let's hope Silva doesn't have an instant effect on them.. Furthermore, it's ideal to thrash them at OT so that we can rest a few players and give chances to others in the return leg.

Clement is the new Swansea manager.

Give every competition 100%. That should be the only priority

Even I think we might win today :nervous:
Funny this is the least confident I've felt for months now. Second string team against a team on fire and better than most premier league teams, recipe for draw or defeat I think.

    Romero
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Schweinsteiger Fellaini
    Young Mata Lingard
    Rashford

How would this team do today?

A bit disappointed that TFM is not starting, that Tuanzebe is not making even the bench and that Schweinsteiger is not starting. Still think that he is the best alternative when Carrick is not available, and this was the perfect opportunity to test him.

Why the feck are we playing Carrick?
Looks like a midfield 2 v Hull in midweek

Herrera and De Gea the only players who seem to have the day off?
