Is this a 433 or a 4321? Carrick and Fellani in a 2 man midfield reminds me of the scary Moyes days.

    DDG
    Young Smalling Rojo Blind
    Fellaini Carrick
    Rooney Mata Martial
    Rashford

Guessed the defense and attack, but messed up completely with the Fellaini inclusion. I was misled by Fellaini arriving early/late at the hotel.

It will be interesting to see how the forwards set up, that midfield is just a weird selection, Fellaini's horrendous and we surely should be keeping Carrick for the semi on Tuesday.

A good side all things considered.

A rest now is best for Pogba and Herrera as it means they can get momentum back up against Hull.

For Carrick, he can get an extended rest with Hull and be fresh for Liverpool.

Young over Tofu is harsh but we need an attacking fullback on Maya's side. Rashford up front is great news.

Dreading Rooney, it's got all the ingredients for a stinker. He's always groggy after a layoff and FA Cup matches against lesser opposition can be scrappy and physical as hell.

This is our 55th consecutive FA Cup match to be shown on TV. Insane.
Last match not to be shown on TV was the 0-0 with Exeter at Old Trafford in January 2005. The replay, when we won 2-0, was the first match of this current run.
Wonder how long it will go on for.

I guess Carrick is in there to protect a midfield that is otherwise vulnerable.

Mourinho never goes too crazy with resting players. He likes to win all competitions.

Surely the holders have to be shown for the first game atleast

Mkhitaryan will probably feature later in the game, but I just hope there's no need at all to play Pogba or Ibrahimović. It would be nice to give Fosu-Mensah and Schweinsteiger some time.

Looks like Carrick today, then not against Hull to save him for Liverpool. Pogba and Herrera back in for both of those games.

This takes Shaw out of the Liverpool game.

Looking at that team, i think Reading will at least draw. They're a good team who will cause us problems and I don't think United have shown them enough respect with that starting lineup

    Another new United fan.:D

If it's a draw, it goes to a replay right? All I know is they abolished replays for the quarter final onwards.

Kinda disappointed that Timbo or Schweini didn't get to start, but I guess Jose feels it's important Carrick doesn't lose momentum

Really didn't expect Pereira's brother to have to sub in at goalkeeper. De Gea to Madrid confirmed...? Tacos

Not surprised at all to see Fellaini for this game. Good to see Herrera and also Pogba getting a rest. Surprised, as many are, by seeing Carrick start though. Would think he could have given Carrick a break for this game.

Will be interesting to see the setup of the front 4. Would love Rashford to get a start up front, but he might be more effective on the wing against the expected defensive setup of Reading.
