Yeah good point. Had forgotten that. Still no reason for him to play a full 90 today though.
He didn't in the end, because we scored the third. But if he's not playing Hull, why not?

This is the first time Rashford and Martial have scored in the same game.

Jut trying to be objective here. Some people are far too protective of Rashford. Lots of brooding mothers on here. We know he's a great talent, but if he wants to kick on and start in the PL he has to be more effective/decisive around goal. With his conversion rate today he wouldn't score enough in the PL right now.

I'm not protecting him. If a player doesn't play well, I have no problem in having a right good rant about them, regardless of whether it's a seasoned pro or a young prodigy like Rashford.

What I'm getting at is that I don't think he deserved the hate he was receiving on here. I don't think he played badly at all, and what annoys me is the knee-jerk comments on here.

I'll concede that yes he missed a bit of a sitter and he could have made better decisions around the box (think he could have squared it to Martial at some point), but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because his runs were tearing the Reading defence apart, and he was making things happen.

He was involved so much throughout the game, his 1st goal from a magic pass from Carrick and a composed finish. His 2nd, huge error by Al-Habsi, but it was forced due to his pace on closing down the keeper.

I think he played very well, and I'm glad he ended his drought, hopefully this'll give him confidence.

But if people think he played atrocious, then fine, that's your opinion. Agree to disagree.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying here, but when people criticize him it doesn't mean they're being harsh, they just have high expectations for him and a desire to see him push on for a starting role. I know he's a really good player, but to be trusted in the PL he needs to be more decisive and effective in front of goal.

Rashford have plenty of pace to burn and one of his cross to Rooney is superb. But he still has a lot more to learn if he is to carry the no.9 United mantle in future. He has to get more techniques in his finishing, such as chipping the goalkeeper and scoring from tight angle. I watched all his 13 or so goals and i see a similar pattern there.

Give every competition 100%. That should be the only priority

    Hi mate
I understand where you are coming from, but I don't agree.
Squad rotation is important and we need to prioritise comps that offer champions league football next season.

I was delighted to see jose rest key players for this, and subsequently wouldn't have complained if we then got beaten. Great win though, delighted with the goal scorers too.

@Prodigal7 I see where you are coming from, but a great role in striker's conversion rate plays his confidence. And being on a goal drought like his I kind of feel what went through his mind when he missed that open goal.
Yes, if you want to be a top striker you shouldn't miss such, but then... Higuain is a top striker and we saw what he missed in the WC Final.
I am sure Jose had only words of praise for him in the half time and that's why it paid off with goal. And we could all see that massive smile on his face After his first. He is starting to hit form. Man of the match, then 2 goals 5 days later. He is starting to believe that hard work pays off.
Week by week we see different components of the team clicking And falling into place.

We will be screwed big time when carrick's body give away. That pass for the rashford goal sums it all up perfectly. Usually People try those low completion and high risk passes on sunday park games. Already missing scholes type of passes and to think soon carrick will follow him .. its just depressing. We need another pass master soon. Pogba is capable but he is too eccentric and sometimes over doing it. I hope he will pick it up from carrick.
