Manchester United vs Perth Glory (Sat 13th July, 12:00 UK time)

Chong, Young and Matic really poor. Tuanzebe and Lingard probably our best players in the first half.

What's disappointing me the most is Jones doesn't look like a senior player at all. Not vocal at all and no leadership. Talk about the new Duncan Edwards...

Jones  Beautiful little stepover, falls over. Awh I love him ayye.

Damn I really hoped Martial would look good at #9 but he was pretty invisible. Not sure he's got the mentality for it, always seems to play like he's not paying attention.

would like to see James make a few More runs off the ball rather than getting it to feet but he’s shown he’s a good link up player not just all about speed.

Plenty of positives that half. Was always going to struggle to breakdown the wall without proper creative passes on the pitch, but the intensity was good.

If i wasnt a lazy cnut, really would like to know when was the last time when right attacking side had more % then left.

1st half was alright I think. Not convinced with Chong but players look fitter than previous tours, loads of pressing and aggression. Also really like Martial down the middle.

Hopefully second half team will have a bit more quality in final third.

Is this how Spurs’ field is going to look like? Lines and logos from different sports everywhere

We've looked pretty lively so far against a team that has deployed Jose's double decker bus.
A useful training session for our forward players.

Continuation from last season.

No creativity, can't break down a defence.

Axel should be starting games for us if we don't get anyone else in. Genuinely our second best defender. Would trust him over Bailly, Jones and Smalling.

I just don't see Chong having the necessary technical quality to match his gifts. Never looks in control.

Pleased with Jesse and Martial, James pressing and running in behind was v good and he was the only threat in behind outside of a few wayward forward runs from Pereira.

Jones is wank. Plays every ball behind the man, slows us down so much.

Happy enough.

Ok lets see will there be a change now on right side when AWB comes in, maybe he can add some more % on that side.

In fairness the stadium is used for AFL games mostly, it was used just night for a match so to set up for a different sport in a day is not the simplest.

That's what I mean by lack of planning. Why aren't we playing on good pitches. Flying to the other side of the world to play on a shit pitch is daft.

Tuanzebe looked good, they looked quite sharp, the pressing was much better and, only 45 minutes into pre season, we've already had some Jones comedy gold.

Plenty to be happy about there.

Tons of posession and some good pressing, but nothing to show for it. Just like last year everyone is playing for the ball to feet. Nobody is making runs into space. Almost nobody. The only player who seems to be making any runs is Periera. I would like to see us give up a little posession in the second half to open up space behind Perth. It's hard to score when your opponent has 10 guys packed inside the 18. It's also hard to use James' pace when there is no counter attack on because we have so much of the ball. I know it's early so I'm not going to be too critical of individual players, but we just need more movement. As much as I don't like the guy, this game is taylormade for someone like Pogba to find holes...

Tuanzebe displays a good level of calmness and composure. Not the toughest of opponents and easier as well when opposition has 9 players in own half but still good to see that Tuanzebe seems to handle things in cool manner.

Its too early to judge of course, but Tuanzebe does not seem like the player I remember. Off the pace, not great on the ball and some rash challenges.

James was good - making the runs but no one feeding him.he is still very nervous and want to impress. Not taking any risk. Just tries to pass the ball when he gets it.

High press one touch football is back. Like the looks of it but need more quality players.

Chong and Lingard aren't showing any cutting edge. Martial hasn't had a lot of room but he's at least trying to get shots away and turning his man.

HT 0-0

Positives:

- High press
- James looks an exciting player
- Tuanzebe solid throughout
- Perth Glory haven’t even created a chance
- Both Young & Lingard have done well which is something I’ve hardly ever said.

Negative:

- Should be winning but still 0-0
- Final ball still lacking and struggling to break them down
- Lacking creativity big time
- Martial still looks so one dimensional
- Matic as slow as a week in jail
- Not that much impressed with Chong

No creativity whatsoever in that midfield. Pereira looked so promising a few years ago but he's not good enough. Young's the only one who tries to pass the ball forward. James did ok, Tuanzebe was good and that's about it. Chong is nowhere near ready.

I thought James did will when on the left, hes dorect, which is very different to every other wideplayer we have.

He was anonymous as soon as he went to the right, then Chong got all the ball.

This insistence of going left all the time is clearly an issue that the coaching staff need to sort out.

Other than that, Axel was excellent, and Lingard was the best of the front line. If we are going to play the high press, he'll be first on the teamsheet all season.

I think a lot of people forget just how terrible the first game of preseason usually is. Players always have a worse touch, heavy legs and a bit slower in the mind.

Impressed with Tuanzebe, he has that calmness you see with great defenders when they defend. Never panicking just being at the right place at the right time to break up the play
.

Dennis Irwin's half time analysis spot on: too much dilly dallying about in the middle third. Not enough quick play down the flank, with proper overloads.
