Manchester United vs Perth Glory (Sat 13th July, 12:00 UK time)

Dunno what you expect from Chong when he plays on right side of the pitch, need ya remind you this is a team which played through left for years and its ingrained in their brains that right side doesnt exist, we could have Messi on the right, he would be ignored.

Martial, Chong and Periera, so poor tbh.

James and Young have been our best players.

Boring so far.
James is doing well, so is Young amusingly.

What's the point of the opposition defending the entire half ? I don't get it. It's a freaking friendly. Why don't they attack a little bit ?

Alright, it looks like Chong and James exchanged positions.

Let's see.

No question this just underlines how much we crave creatives in midfield. It is all crisp passing without enough quality cutting edge purpose.
James the star so far.

This will happen in the league next season. We better figure out how to break it down

This guy calling our manager AUSSIE  who is he?

Hello, my name is Fracture and I'm here to overreact.

I remember people saying the same last pre season. Moyes pre season too.

It's only 1 half of pre season football, so of course means feck all, but the common notion that you can't really tell anything from pre season is a bit of a nonsense IMO.

Loving the energy from the youngsters, Chong not settled in yet, hope he finds his feet.

Can't help but feel with a Bernado type influence in the midfield there we'd look 10x better. Some magic there to unlock defences rather than popping 15 short passes around the 18yard box followed by a hopeful shot.

We play some nice Football but still look a bit clueless when it comes to unlocking the oppositions defence's. Axel Tuanzebe and Daniel James in particular have really impressed.

Wooo Chong did something! Maybe he’s better through the middle?

Not surprising as Young is a decent and experienced player with a head on him, and a tryer to boot. It's at the highest level where he struggles now.

Seems like with switching the wings Chong became more effective while James disappeared a little.

From the first 45 mins of the first game with a shadow squad? Are you serious?

We have predominately played on the left side. It might take a while to fully intergrate the right wing and as such whoever is tasked with playing that side will tend to struggle a bit.

We can't tell anything from such a game that's for sure. Maybe in the upcoming tougher games.

Cool. I was tired of the 433 to be honest. I prefer wingers like James than playing wide forwards like Martial.

I would be worried with Matic in a midfield of 2, someone more energetic would be better. I hope we continue with a high pressing style of play.

Same. However, it is pre season and I cant imagine this is the only system Ole will try.

Be interesting to see if we continue with a 4231 when Pogba comes on.

Good run from Chong. As with most matches I saw him last year he's not done much that has impressed me to be honest, he's muscled and crowded off the ball too often for my liking. Hopefully his decision-making improves and he stop going down quite as many blind allies.
